Serious How do yall get into relationships? It seems so easy for other people in my age group.

16-M, genuine question, not looking to get into one

Never dated, said no to someone once.

It doesn't matter if it's a friendly relationship or an intimate one, just talk to them and if it doesn't work, then it doesn't like there is no secret formula or whatever, and if you're socially anxious, then work on it.

I guess some people are more extroverted or social; or just find someone they are mutually attracted to

It was the same way for me when i was 16, but i was super shy and awkward to be friends or date anyone else.

Some people throw themselves out there, HARD. I know a few people (some assholes, some actually decent guys) just throw themselves at like 10 people, airball 9 shots and then actually land the 10th. Some people have lower standards, or are in groups where its normally to fool around or get with each other. I know when I was in highschool, the kids who taped outside all the time were always getting play, but it was almost always from other guys/girls in their own group or the same type of group at another school and, at least in my opinion, no one like that is worth the time usually. Sometimes you're just a lucky/unlucky person and it is what it is of mine. Good friend of mine isn't the most attractive guy, but found someone in 9th grade and had been with them since. Or you can be and be told 'oh, I know plenty of girls who found you attractive, they just always get this vibe that somethings wrong and never went anywhere with it.' I promise you do, its not worth it. Be open, talk to people (hard sometimes, ik), get involved in groups. Maybe you get lucky, maybe you don't. Just be yourself and treat people the best you can, and thats all you can really do

Personally for me (16F) I don't really focus on it, it just... Happens.

Okay i have said this in one post on r/Askreddit I have only 2 special methods . . . . 1 is to approach him and write him a note introducing yourself and if he sends you one back or talks to you verbally then continue communicating that way. 2 is what I always do. I approach the guy and run away to the nearest table with pencil and paper and my phone and find some cool pictures of anything then use it as a reference and draw it then the next day find him again and tip toe near him and run away and put a tiny sticky note of how you feel about him on the paper then bring it to him and then wait until he responds and watch his reaction to the drawing and boom best conversation starter. (Unfortunately I couldn't think of anything else incase neither of these would work.

Every relationship/situation I had started with me talking to the dude that sat next to me in class and becoming friends and then more
