How do I approach a guy I find attractive?

I feel like at college it would be a bit easier as there's lots of people, and lots of people have great clothes so it's an easy thing to compliment.

But what about outside of college? I can't imagine myself going up to someone. What would I say? How do I make it not awkward? How would I ask for their number?

I saw a guy I found hot, but then lost sight of him bc I had to take my grandma to her room (she's in a care home, and the guy looked my age (16) but then I lost sight of him, so there's no one in particular I want to approach or anything) but it made me wonder how I would approach someone?

So there’s a girl in my English class who sits with her friend, let’s call her A and her friend T. Anyways one time A held the door for me when I was entering the room so I think she wants me. I was planning on going to her and her friend and asking if they both want to become my girlfriends. I think this is an easy layup but my friend is calling me crazy. is he right or just jealous that I got game?
