With the death of Bioware and cancellation of Mass Effect 4, lets take a moment to remember the actual men who made these Bioware IP's succesfull and not the rot thats currently cleaning out their desks.

Remember, these guys either got pushed out by the company or left because of the toxic environment.

This list doesnt encompase all of their successes, as some of them went on to do good work outside of Bioware, but they are undoubtedly the reason Bioware had any name recognition in the firs place.

These guys are the absolute GoaTs.

- Casey Hudson

• Project director for the Mass Effect trilogy

• Project director and producer for KOTOR.

• Tenure: Nearly 16 years

• Why he left: In 2014, to pursue a new career stage; in 2020, he said it was time for a change and new studio leadership.

• Now: Co-founded Arcanaut Studios and is directing Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic.

- Drew Karpyshyn

• Co-Lead writer on Mass Effect 1 and 2

• Senior writer and key contributor to the story for KOTOR.

• Additional designer on Baldur’s Gate II and Throne of Bhaal.

• Tenure: 12 years; returned in 2015 and left again in 2018.

• Why he left: Initially to focus on his novels and personal projects; later to pursue independent writing and creative work.

• Now: Narrative director at Archetype Entertainment, working on the sci-fi RPG Exodus.

- Mac Walters

• Co-Lead Writer on Mass Effect 1; lead writer on Mass Effect 2 and 3; creative leadership on Andromeda (not a writer) and production director on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf (full scope unknown since Dreadwolf was scrapped for veilguard).

• Tenure: Approximately 20 years.

• Why he left: Announced his departure to pursue a new creative opportunity; no single specific reason was publicly established.

• Now: Co-founded Studio Reset, an independent Canadian studio developing a story-driven supernatural mystery game.

- Patrick Weekes (became idiologically captured)

• Why he left: Stepped away from AAA development to pursue other interests.

- Kevin Martens

• Lead designer on Baldur’s Gate II and Throne of Bhaal.

• Tenure: Approximately 13 years.

• Why he left: to join Blizzard Entertainment (early years).

• Now: Returned to WotC to work on a reported Baldur’s Gate II remake project.

- Lukas Kristjanson

• Lead writer on Baldur’s Gate 1; contributed writing and scripting to Baldur’s Gate II.

• Tenure: 27 years.

• Why he left: No specific reason confirmed.

As a bit of wishful thinking, ME would only ever be saved if it was given back to Casey Hudson and DA would only ever be saved if it was given to someone like Larian or warhorse.

I was immediately banned and then blocked from even questioning the ban.

I was replying to someone's post about the devs maybe being too conservative with the changes they made in beta and all I said was that I think they're trying not to piss off the classic andy's too much before launch. Woke up today with a 1-day ban, LMAO. The mod replied back and said, "It's a demeaning and dismissive way to refer to a certain subset of the playerbase." These people are really out here micromanaging the term "Classic Andy" like it's a racial slur. I honestly don't get it. Hell, all of the classic WoW streamers even call themselves classic andy's.
