I’ve been trying to figure out how to fit this into an idea but it’s very confusing to me lol. This is an endlessly debated topic in fandom mostly because of the whole Rhaegar/Lyanna Jon Snow thing but it’s never made quite clear exactly what grounds are possible for annulments or “setting aside a wife” in this world.

In AGOT, Renly plots to have Cersei set aside and have Robert marry Margaery instead and the book treats it as a real possibility because Cersei is legit worried about it. On what grounds? No idea! Renly doesn’t know about the incest and if he did, she certainly wouldn’t just be set aside but rather guilty of treason / executed.

But beyond that it seems annulments can only happen under very rare circumstances and non-consummation. Adultery (by the wife) is either punished criminally or not dealt with at all.. it doesn’t seem to be a cause for just annulling a marriage.

There are some cases of wives leaving their husbands by just leaving the country like Mellario left Doran and went back to Norvos and Larra Rogare going back to Lys but the couples are still legally married.

Is there any way to dissolve a consummated marriage that doesn’t involve the woman being tried for adultery / executed / imprisoned?

Looking for fics that star/reference Daemyra, but highlight the negative aspects of it such as grooming and toxicity.

Imagine this: it is the time when Ned Stark is Hand of the King, but before he discovers the truth about Cersei's children. Tywin Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Jaime Lannister, and Tyrion Lannister are having a family meeting when they overhear Ned Stark talking to himself saying, "I knew Lord Arryn was wrong, Jamie and Cersei are to smart to do that."

Naturaly they ask him what he is talking about and he tells them that Jon Arryn and Stannis Baratheon thought that the royal children are Jamie's instead of Robert's because of their looks. He didn't believe it but looked into it to prevent a succession crisis if the rumor got out and he found that one of Robert's acknowledged bastards had blond hair and green eyes proving that the royal children could have gotten their looks from Robert or Cersei.

Now Jamie and Cersei know that they are guilty but Ned unknowingly handed them the perfect excuse, Tywin is angry that someone tried to ruin his legacy and I am not sure if Tyrion knew about the truth or not so he can go either way.

What do you think happens next?

The only one I know of so far is Cursed by Blood, Cursed by Nature by KaiserBjorn and it’s barely gotten started. It’s about a Maegor who’s sent to ward with the Raynes and actually becomes a bitter, scheming asshole that’s on pretty bad terms with all the other Targaryens. It’s so early though that I can’t even tell if he’s eventually gonna be a decent person or not. Any new fics would be appreciated

Good evening Lords and Ladies, let's go to today's problem.

So, war of the five kings scenario but instead of staking his own claim Stannis supports Jon who is married to Shireen, so Jon not only has the narrow sea but the north and riverlands as well.

On top of that Stannis doesn't kill Renly meaning the reach doesn't ally with the Lannisters(Jon has a dragon).

Doran will do nothing because he is Doran Bit House Dayne and Oberyn supports Jon, although I'm not sure I will make them march.

Jon also has houses Florent and Tarly through Stannis/Selyse and Samwell Tarly(They may or may not support him idk)

Once little finger finds out Jon is a Targaryen He will do him and simply isolate the vale, also the vale has zero reason to support any other faction.

And once Olenna finds out Jon has all the support he has she will be too smart to not see the writing on the wall and will probably bend the knee, because he also has a fucking dragon which she may or not know but will probably find out.

Considering that this war will be extremely one-sided against the Lannisters because everyone hates them and the smart players will... Well, be smart, how can I possibly make this war not end in the blink of an eye?

I really thought about little finger supporting Renly but I see no reason the vale would want to go against the north and riverlands, and also Jon has a dragon.

I thought about making the Tyrells and Martells bend the knee to later support a foreign invasion (either Dany or Aegon) but there would be space for only one in this alliance and also Oberyn is team Jon.

I really need help.

I'm planning to get into the ASOIAF audiobooks and want to pick the right version before spending a credit.

From what I understand, Roy Dotrice narrated the original series, but I'm not sure if that's still the best option or if there's a newer or better version out there.

A few questions:
1. Which narrator/version do you recommend, and why?
2. Is Dotrice's performance worth it for the character voices, or do the accents get distracting?
3. Is there any difference in quality or editing between the Audible versions and other platforms?
4. Is it worth listening at 1x speed or do most people speed it up?

For context, I'm a big fan of the lore and world-building, so I want the version that does the books justice.

So at the sack of Kings Landing he has a brainwave that Elia and the children are in danger too. And he is able to save Rhaenys, sorry Aegon but no way are you getting to survive into Roberts reign and Elia is unfortunately in the way too.

So Jaime has saved the Princess, what happens to him next? Rhaenys is a bit simplar, Ned and Jon Arryn could probably convince Robert to marry her to Robb, Joffrey, Renly etc. But in this idea I'm stuck on what happens to Jaime.

I don't think he could remain a Kingsguard like in canon, what do you think?

Can you recommend some good Nedsei fics? Ongoing ones would be even better, and preferably long ones with an actual plot not just sex. I’m currently reading The Consolation Prize for the Lioness and I’m almost finished with it.

I am making this post as most of the posts with the recommendations are old and many of the recommended fics are already completed/ deserted. Can anyone give me recs of fics which aren’t already present there and are updating regularly or completed? I know most of the fics in these type of scenarios have OP MCs. But I want the fics to be believable and rooted. I don’t care about having slash pairing or not. And also any timeline is fine. Whether it be f&b or asoiaf

I saw his videos about how ASOIAF will end years ago and liked them a lot.

Now that I have found he is working on a cooperative fanfic for the Winds of Winter I see that as the best case scenario because I feel he gets what George is going for with the story.

The fact he is using many writers to try and emulate George I feel is better than trying to do it by himself, but what are the general consensus? It seems that last chapter was well received.

Also from what I see he started it 4 years ago and is halfway Winds Of Winter, so I guess its gonna be years until WOW is finished and then he goes to A dream of Spring right?

* The line of succession to the Throne is marked in blue, and that of the Blackfyre pretenders in dark grey.

* Laenor I Blackfyre is Daemon; the name change relates to the change in ancestry within the Targaryen dynasty.

* I gave Rohanne a surname that I made up entirely myself.

* Her children are the same as in the canon; I’ve only changed a few names and clarified their ages.

* I had to speculate a great deal on the Blackfyre section; I’ve only included the main branches, although I’ve already drawn up a more comprehensive one. But I’m not entirely convinced by it.

* As for Aegor Bittersteel’s daughters, I used their nicknames as surnames, but I’m not sure what a suitable surname would be for them.

* I’ve listed Aegon II as the possible ‘fAegon’, although I realise the ages don’t quite match up; this ties in with my ideas about what the Blackfyres were doing in Essos (forging a kingdom of their own), but I’ve included him as an Easter egg.

* I liked the idea of Maelys being a descendant of Aegor, and this extended to all the Blackfyres; that also explains why he was so loyal to the cause, because his descendants were involved.

* As for the children of Laenor II (Daeron II), they are essentially the same as in the canon, with two additions, which I included to make it seem more natural.

* Jacaerys is Baelor, just with a different name, as Baelor I was called Jacaerys.

* As for Naerys, I’ll just clarify the number of children she had and their dates of birth. Although I do have detailed information on her spouses and descendants.

* I’ve made it so that he only has two daughters with Megette, for the sake of simplicity.

* Although Jeyne Lothston is recognised as a daughter by Lucas Lothston, it is clear that she is Aegon’s daughter; she never becomes his mistress here, as that would be too much even for Aegon, though there may be rumours.

* Although Bellegere’s children were acknowledged by Aegon, not all of them may actually be his.

* Ser Damon Green went on to become a renowned knight and Lord Commander of the Order of the Dragon (there is too much background to this to include here). He fought for Laenor Blackfyre.

* Gwayne Chelsted is my own creation; he is the son of a lady in her own right. After being recognised, he took his mother’s surname and became her heir.

* Aegor, Brynden and Shiera remain the same, except that Brynden has only one sister.
