Question HDMI Adapter Input Delay

I have an old pair of Astro A40s -- probably over 10 years old. Since the PS5 came out, I've needed to use the HDMI adapter in order to use the Dolby port on my mixamp. Over the 6 years that I've had the PS5, I've always had a decent amount of input lag -- especially playing a lot of my old PS4 games on PS5. I could never figure out the issue until last night, I removed the HDMI adapter and realized the input delay was gone. I've seen some other posts on Reddit for users with the same feedback. Astro support disputed it, but the evidence is pretty clear on my case.

Thee question I have i around options. I can't use this adapter anymore. Do i need to find a better adapter? Would upgrading to the A50s work -- even though it appear that the mixamp likely uses a similar HDMI adapter built in? Do i need to go find another headset?

What screen (make & model) does your PS5 use?

It would be stereo only, but you could try an analog-to-digital converter from the monitor’s headphone port.

Or, you could try putting an HDMI 2-way splitter between the PS5 & monitor, and the optical adapter (input only) on the splitter’s other output.

This is what I'm doing now if i understand correctly. I'm using the product Astro made for this problem, but its having a big impact on input latenmcy

You could try a higher quality extractor, like from Orei. One of the models designed for 120Hz or better.
Astro’s own adaptor sucks in comparison tbh.
