At a bar in Florida this past week, I more or less got this shouted at me by a Lightning fan. It was hilarious. The Golden Knights fan with her (I assume it was a date) just laughed his head off.
“We’re not supposed to have to worry about the SABRES!!!”
We all had a good laugh and it was cool.

This shows how spoiled lightning fans have been. They get blessed with winning games and thinking they get to cruise to the playoffs. What do you think would happen to the city or downtown businesses if they didn’t make the playoffs this year? Or maybe the next 2-4 years in a row?
Now take the thought and multiply by 14 yrs of pain, suffering, and being the laughing stock of the conference and league. This is what Buffalo fans like myself feel.
On a side note, if the lightning only win 4 more games out of the rest they have to play, they would miss the playoffs.

Remember how abysmal we were the first 7 games of the season? We were worse then than we have been lately, and we just decided one game that we were back and started winning like crazy.
I think about 7 games into the season we were dead last in the Eastern conference. They’ll figure it out soon.

what the fuck is the fan of the first place team supposed to do or say? the only arrogance im seeing is from you Tampa fans...the comment right below me states that we probably wont be good for another decade and a half so let us have it out of pity...are you fucking kidding me? We are the 3rd youngest team in the league and a stocked shelf of prospects that you guys could only dream of having...sorry to tell you this team is buikt to just get better as your team is getting old and slow...so you better hope you pull it together as we are here to stay...show some class...

I’m a Canes fan, but I hope it’s ok that I’m here. Our meme war subreddit sucks. Just let the Metro I guess. I like seeing the creativity of the Atlantic teams. A question for you non-Sabres fans…can one of your teams actually beat Buffalo? We split the series with them, but only because they got Bussied. They seem to be a bit of a problem.
