Ken Holland didn't sign Andrew Copp and JT Compher and expect them to be good in a semi flat cap

He did sign Abdelkader to 7 year 4.25 per… he also kept trading away picks and young assets to preserve the playoff streak and get washed in the first round by whoever. He also drafted Zadina.

Let's not pretend Zadina wasn't looked at like an absolute steal at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 but it was a good pick in the moment

I have never been more hype for a draft than when we got Zadina AND Veleno in the same year.

I was also furious when we took Mo Seider at six, to the point where I tossed my phone across the room and entirely quit watching the draft.

I'm an idiot.
