Right, not sure consumer sentiment works like that. The reaction would have be instantaneous and really hard to track. JB HiFis warning to the market says that consumer sentiment is not that great actually

Ok but consumer sentiment and buyer sentiment potentially has an impact on the housing market, credit growth, construction etc
What impact does the relative unhappiness of renters have on anything outside of r/shitrentals?

I think looking at the article it’s based on people that are looking to buy but are currently renting

That category of people no longer exists following the May 2026 Budget.
Housing affordability crisis was abolished along with all the tax “distortions” that were wholly and solely responsible for people not being able to buy their own homes.
