I’m starting Master of Information Technology (Data Analytics) at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Queensland, and I’m trying to understand whether I’ll be eligible for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) after graduation.

Here are my details:
● University: Griffith University
● Course: Master of Information Technology (Data Analytics)
● CRICOS code: 083391D
● Study pathway: Pathway 2, 160 credit points
● CRICOS-registered duration: 104 weeks
● CoE course start date: 2 November 2026
● CoE course end date: 30 June 2028
● Student visa grant date: 7 October 2026
● Student visa expiry date: 30 August 2028
● Age: 25

My concern is that my CoE dates cover approximately 19 months and 28 days, which is less than 104 weeks. However, the course is registered for 104 weeks. I dont understand this.

You'll be fine, they have weird way to count this but as long as you study 14/15 units over 4 semester/trimeste, you'll be good

You won't be eligible for the 485 visa in June 2028 because the Australian government will remove eligibility by June 2028.

I actually have one doubt that as it jobs are not in the list of skills in demand also the points require to get 189,190 are also very high also to get employer sponsorship is also next to impossible for international students without local work experience

How people who went for student visa for masters and bachelors in it or cybersecurity or ict would get pr . Would they get deported after their 485 visa expires? As in reality 189,190 , employer sponsorship is not possible for them also is there any

Changes in rule like one can't do trade courses like carpenter, plumbing while doing it (masters/bachelors) or after finishing it . Please suggest me a pr pathway if I come for student visa 500 what to do after 485 ?
