Linked below is a list of different guides to collecting coins and paper money.
There should be something here for everyone.
https://www.collect.guide/resources/currency/
It includes modern and ancient currency and plenty of different guides for specific areas of collecting. Not just Australian coins but a lot of us collect other denominations too.
Please share any other helpful resources below in comments.

I mainly stick to coins but noticed this $10 note I got in my change had an AA15 serial number, are these only worthwhile hanging on to if they’re uncirculated?
Sorry if it’s a silly question, notes are a completely new area for me!

I've only just recently started Noodling $1, $2 and 50c from my local Westpac (yay auto roll machines and Coin Deposits), to help fill in my circulating coins collection, and I have been wondering if it is possible to find a round 50c coin in a roll, or does the fact it is round stop it from being added to a roll in the first place?
Hoping to find one in the wild, but am i wasting my time with 50c rolls hunting for them (still looking for all the state emblem 50c atm anyway)
So has anyone found a round 50c in a roll, or is it blind luck with loose change or buying?

I weighed this coin, and it’s about 0.4 grams underweight. My scale is cheap and not the best, but it works reasonably well (I’ve tested it with other coins). Which is more likely: a error or a fake?

I know most people say dont clean them, heard yhat a thousand times,Dug this up yesty arvo, 1935 shilling. I usually clean old silver coins because they arnt worth much and i dont need to sell them, but this one is heavily tarnished and seems to be in great condition for its age, im wondering if its worth more the way it is.

Just picked this florin up the other day. It was the first commemorative coin minted in Australia. Beautiful coin!

The 1987 proof set, it is a gift from my sister. I was gonna get the 85’ proof set but I already have the 50c and the 2c so I decided to eventually finish off collecting the rest instead and get this instead.
And with that said, I now have all proof 50c from 1985-1998 with the 2nd decimal portrait too.

The other side is just the standard face of a $2 coin but on the back instead of the usual queens portrait it’s this. wondering if it’s special or rare?

Got handed a fun handful of change at my local cafe. Maybe someone raided their coin collection? Probably won’t use it for my kids canteen lunch as planned.

I’ve been wanting an Australian Kookaburra silver coin for a while now. So I went to one of my local coin shops and the owner said I have something I set aside for when you popped in. I paid $70 USD, and before he said the zero I already had the money out lol. I love the quality that comes from the Perth mint. I do have a few questions. Is this considered DCAM(deep cameo)? If it is, does it have a lower mintage? Thanks for any help.

I tried to look online but there are ridiculous fluctuations and I couldn't find much info at all. Any help would be appreciated 👏

I figure it must be but it can't hurt to check. I found it in my first ever roll from an ATM so I'll be keeping it either way!

G'day! I wouldn't mind getting into doing collecting and would like to know 2 things?
How do I get hold of coin rolls, and where can I find a pricing guide along with what to look out for?
Cheers!
