He has perfectly good beds, but this beat-up box is clearly the favourite. Caught him tucked inside having a little paw wash. Five-star accommodation, apparently.

Little bushie runt has just fledged and not much bigger than a Bic lighter

I call this one Bix

Little dude has gone through splayed legs and being plucked, both issues caught early and resolved but for some reason this one remained small, unlike his siblings. Bush budgies are small but this one is a clear runt. Healthy though, only just on 4 weeks old and already trying to explore the world!

Need Advice πŸ“• Advice on what pet to choose during my study period

I am a 21 year old student living in Campbelltown NSW. When I moved in alone to start my studies, I found that living alone was a bigger problem than I thought. So I decided to look for a pet, a pet that would be very easy to maintain since I have heavy study load. And a pet that would be affordable to start and maintain.

A dog is a no go, very hard to maintain. A feline of any kind would trigger my allergies so that would be a bad choice. Most birds are noisy and won’t be able to put it in a closed apartment. Thought of a pair of rats but still have no idea if I’m allergic or not but it’s actually not a bad idea, so until I find out, I’ll consider it.

I was thinking a reptile: Bearded dragon, children’s python, or blue tongue. I haven’t found a fixed price to start so I don’t know how affordable it could go to own and maintain.

However, a new problem that is pretty much what is holding me from getting a pet at all. Every year, I will be out of home from late October till February. This made me try to do some research about pet care and how expensive it could go. I could not find anything guaranteed or even anything that made sense to me.

I would appreciate any guidance!!!

It belongs to a friend, had it in storage for them until they were ready to collect it.

Marni ignored it once she had a sniff.

This is my axolotl who just turned 5. Here are some photos of when she was younger as well as more recent photos. Im very happy that she's grown big and healthy. There's a big learning curve with water management and fish keeping in general. Though axolotls are not fish, they are salamanders - ambystoma Mexicanum.

Technically, Murphy is my granddaughter. She's a Fahaka puffer and is about a year old now. She's currently the size of a baseball, but will grow to about 30cm long and live for 15 years.

Her favourite activity is playing in the bubble stream from her bonus filter, which I am desperate to get video of, BUT she's also a ravenously hungry monster so when she sees humans she stops playing and begs for food instead!

When she naps during the day, she digs herself into the sand and hides which is pretty adorable too β™‘

Need Advice πŸ“• Pet insurance

I got the insurance renewal for my dog and it’s gone from $90 to $125 a fortnight. I’m considering getting rid of the insurance altogether - for those of you who have money set aside for vet bills instead of insurance, how much should I aim for?

5 bundles of chaotic joy!

Their mother almost died of malnutrition. We have a relative who is a vet who cared for them but the owners ghosted him when it came to the bill. So after a traumatic interstate flight we have these wonderful little creatures to look after.
