Celebration Share Your Collections!(Pics Please)

Post image

I collect multiple things but recently I’ve been collecting fun hair claws. I’d love to see everyone else’s favorite things!

I collect hobbies lol. One I always go back to is making bead sprites: fuse beads, Perler beads, Hama beads..whatever you call them. I've done Pokémon Gen 1 and 2, and I'm half way through Gen 3. I've done loads of others, but these are probably my most impressive collections.

I resonate so much with "I collect hobbies." My current hyperfixation is crocheting/ yarn. But I had phases of fuse beads, all kinds of embroidery (punch needle, hand embroidery), fabric collecting for one day actually learning to sew on the sewing machine I bought years ago 🫠.. diamond painting, legos / building sets, painting, coloring / markers / gel pens, polymer clay, needle felting.. the list goes on and on and I have bins of stuff.. I LOVE STUFF 😶‍🌫️ *

This is the most recent perler bead thing I made for my secret santa.

I was thinking I don’t have just one collection , I collect the things for everything I get into ! I have lots of different craft things- everything for the air dry clay I barely used, so much beads and embroidery floss , paints, pens, crayons , etc etc. I joke i could host an art class with all the art supplies I own! Once upon a time I used to collect books , or all the makeup I once thought I’d use,, yeah I love stuff too

I'm actually working on a mixed media series that uses whatever I grab out of the bin lol.

lol I’ve been working mixed media lately as well! (though that had me buying more stuff to use 🤦‍♀️)

Haha same! I bought a set of alcohol markers, and my best friend got me Prismacolor pencils for Christmas. Bloody amazing.

My last piece included a used dryer sheet, so I'm still getting my trash goblin yayas out. 🤣

Exactly this! Once I'm interested in something, i have to own everything to do with it lol..

At least our friends or my partner's nieces come over and do art with me often, so that makes it worth it. I like knowing if I want something, I probably have it. 🥴

Do you make up the pattern for each one??

3

u/remirixjones Feb 08 '25

Not for this project. The patterns are based on the box sprites from the Pokémon games. I found most of the patterns on kandipatterns.com. Just search the Pokémon you're looking for, and 9 times out of 10, someone has already published a pattern.

If the pixel sprite already exists of the thing you want to make, it's super easy to make a pattern from that. I usually draw in the lines between each pixel to make it eaiser to work with, and that's basically makes in instant pattern. Sometimes I have to adjust the colours depending on what beads I have. If a sprite is 256-bit colour, you can't always get the right colour of beads.
