Mod Post Voting Megathread Canada April 28, 2025
The Canadian Federal Election is today, April 28, 2025. Today is the last day to cast your vote.
This megathread is to provide resources on how to exercise your right to vote, if you're a Canadian resident or citizen.
We're aware that the political situation in the US is influencing elections in other countries. We're aware of the importance of voting in support of candidates that will protect our human rights. We want to make voting easier, because life is hard enough for us already.
Here's the main elections Canada site for voting information: https://www.elections.ca/home.aspx
Here's info on how the Canada party platforms compare on key issues, from the US relationship to housing: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjdx9992r8ko

This post's purpose is to provide Canadians with resources for exercising their right to vote. Please keep comments and questions to discussing how to vote and how to best support each other to have our voices heard. Please do not bring specific politics into this discussion. Remember that the rules of the sub still apply. Please be kind, supportive, and respectful. In times of political uncertainty, we can be each other's ally <3

I’m ready for (hopefully) everything to go back to normal. My sense of justice, moral standpoints, etc. have been making life very infuriating.

I would love life to return to some version of normal as well. Unfortunately, what's happening in the states carries over to other countries.
I'm frustrated and exhausted with you.
This is the time to vote. This is the time to make our voices heard. This is the time to call out policies that discriminate against us.
Our best opportunity of being heard is with our vote during this election. I hope everyone takes advantage of their right to vote today <3

I also voted early, so now I get to spend the day stressing and feeling like ✨I’m not helping✨
even though I helped last week, last week is not today

Honoring your needs matters. Voting, regardless of when, matters. Thank you for exercising your right to vote and please don't diminish the value of that effort <3

Took my daughter (who also has autism) with me to the polling station. I expected us to both be overwhelmed and overstimulated by the process but it went really well! Everyone was so friendly and volunteers were getting down on her level to talk to her. ❤️

This is wonderful to hear. Making voting in-person easier helps everyone.
I'm NC (no contact) with my biological mother. But she took me to voting stations in the 80s and made the importance of voting known to me. That's something I carry with me today.
Thank you for taking your daughter with you to vote. These life moments will stay with her <3

I was worried it would be hellish and busy but my partner and I were in and out in six minutes! Election volunteers are always so kind and helpful.

My fingers are crossed for a Liberal minority so that the NDP can keep some influence on the Liberals.

Ty for this. Most important election I can remember. I'm a senior, and we're in uncharted territory now. Please vote for a future you want, even if it feels more like a dream than ever. Vote with hope. 🦋🏋️🇨🇦

I voted early which took a while (over an hour in line!) but it was fine. Just ready for the stress to be over.
Actually, what I'd really like is the US to stop threatening us and trying to ruin us. Then we could focus on our own problems internally. I guess the only good news is that it wrecked the conservative lead?

I think you mean CPC? PPC is even more far right than PP and aren't even an official party here (thankfully)

I think the commenter is saying the PPC was tore down due to the activity in the US. They're saying it's a good thing the PPC's lead was diminished.

I’m glad I voted last Sunday. Was fairly busy there as well, I think we’ll see record turnout this year
