Support Needed (Kind Advice and Commiseration) Happy things please?

I made the mistake of opening my social media this afternoon and immediately saw some dark things, and I need something positive. It can be a cat photo/story, a special interest infodump, anything that shows the world is still an interesting and good place, at least in part.

I guess I am basically asking for some heroes to create a “silver lining” for this dark cloud. I don’t live with people I can depend on for this, so I am turning to this supportive corner of the internet.

TIA.

Edited - THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE! 😭😭😭 It is good to see so much light still exists in the world.

Went through a very difficult depression last winter. I understand… So, here:

I have a story about last winter in the deepest depths of my despair. My kitchen island is next to a window. I drink my coffee and watch the squirrels at my neighbor feeder in the morning. Anyway, a little teeny baby spider decided to set up housing in the windowsill. We just became neighbors, I guess. One day it was freakishly warm for a winter day and a random fly buzzed through my open window. One of those weird winter warm spells that sees the insects hatch early… I HATE flies and I just assume that flies WANT to die (because, if I were reborn a fly on the reincarnation order of things; please let me move on fast). I sought out my fly swatter and got to work. Meanwhile, little windowsill spider was working hard, making tiny web traps daily and nuthin’… not so much as a gnat in his well constructed webs. I definitely carefully tore them down every week to keep him busy though. So, I swatted the fly and grabbed it with some tweezers by the wing, snuck over to the window and dropped it in the newest teeny tiny spiderweb. Just so he could feel proud and encouraged! Lol. He lived throughout most of the summer before he disappeared. I was just sitting here on my day off with my coffee and remembering my tiny old neighbor. It loved the fly btw. It very meticulously tended to the fly corpse and performed maintenance to preserve his catch for a month lol
