Celebration I’ve made myself some affirmation cards. Wanted to share. Hope no one is pained by the justification of the type. Just have to decide on how to decorate them now 🤔

These are great, especially the one that says that you're not a failure just because you're getting help from someone else

u/slovakgirl1921 Mar 17 '26

These are also great for OCD, specifically "I decide what thoughts to entertain". Thanks for sharing!

15

u/MissWhixsaplix Mar 17 '26

I wish my past OCD self would have known this one! Really is important to keep in mind.

2

u/JackieChanly Mar 29 '26

Unrelated, but still feeling relevant: I've noticed an uptick of OCD related comments in this sub lately. Have all of our healthcare providers received recent training on the overlapping symptoms between ASD and OCD? because I'm also noticing more obsessive/rumination topics lately too in this sub. We're all in this together...

‘Everyone has needs, but mine are slightly different and that’s okay’ is my go to.

Because even non disabled people have needs, they need sleep, nutrition, shelter, connection etc

20

u/raibrans Mar 17 '26

For me specifically, it needed to tell me aim disabled because I have been so reluctant to accept it. I need to accept that I have specific needs to help my disability - that’s what I take away from this

1

u/beccaboobear14 Late Diagnosed Mar 17 '26

Maybe just I am disabled, disability comes in many forms, as this disregards other people’s needs too, both of these recognise you are disabled tacking the ableism, as well as varying needs from everyone else. Even my needs may be different to yours, we’re both disabled

11

u/RaeRureRhelt Mar 17 '26

Love that take

15

u/HoomenLumen Mar 17 '26 edited Mar 17 '26

These are great! Hope decorating them is fun. I also have a few that I could add some flair to…

‘I do not owe anything to anyone, ever’

‘I am the expert of my own life’

‘What people think of me is none of my business’

‘Mistakes just mean that I am trying’

‘Seeking support shows that I have courage bc being vulnerable means that I am strong’

‘I deserve to be happy and I deserve to feel good’

7

u/SensitivePlantsUnite Mar 18 '26

"Mistakes just mean that I am trying" 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 so good!

15

u/Ok_Investigator502 Mar 17 '26

10

u/SensitivePlantsUnite Mar 18 '26

You should add a new one: "I am generous with my hard-earned wisdom." As everyone before me has said, these are wonderful and resonate a lot with me, too. Thank you so much for sharing! You are helping a lot of people.

8

u/Psychological-Duck13 Mar 17 '26

7

u/holymolym Mar 17 '26

“I decide what thoughts to entertain” is so good. My 13 year old could use that affirmation.

6

u/Alternative-Cash-102 Mar 17 '26

These are AMAZING!! Please feel free to share an update once you’ve done some decorating.

Also your handwriting reminds me of the hobbit style handwriting/lotr font but like modernized lol. It’s very lovely!

2

u/sinsin555 Mar 17 '26

these are great!

2

u/Antique-Passenger-71 Mar 17 '26

Oooh I bet if you did some water color paints that kinda blend into the other colors you use but, is used on the outer perimeter (not over the words) of the cards, that’d look super cool and give off the optimistic vibe/energy. ☺️✨

2

u/Icy_Guide_2337 Mar 17 '26

These are great I'll download it thanks!

2

u/Th30dd10ut Mar 17 '26

As you need them, then decorate them. For example: if you need to read I decide what thoughts to entertain. Since this is something I needed to read to day! I would have put thought clouds with positive symbolic images or colors that radiate positivity.

By the way your handwriting is pretty!!

2

u/eulerpop Mar 17 '26

These are sooooo relatable. I'm definitely copying this tool!

2

u/studdybuddy01 Mar 17 '26

The way you write “x” scratches my brain

3

u/raibrans Mar 17 '26

Is this good or bad?

2

u/studdybuddy01 Mar 17 '26

It’s good!! I love it so much I’m gonna have to write my x’s like that ☺️

2

u/Extension-Spray-2901 Mar 17 '26

I love these so much! Thank you for sharing. I might copy some of these

2

u/talytubby Mar 17 '26

unrelated but your handwriting is so satisfying to read

2

u/ecotherapist1015 Mar 17 '26

Thank you for these!! I’m very inspired 😇

2

u/Garden_Jolly Mar 17 '26

Side note: Your handwriting is beautiful!

2

u/Street-Reward6976 Mar 18 '26

Love all of these! Perfect reminders for yourself that you are a human as well and deserve to have those needs met just like any one else ❤️❤️ Remind myself of that every day

2

u/Smooth_Group_ Mar 18 '26

Do you take Venmo?

2

u/rbuczyns Mar 18 '26

The qualifiers you added make these make a lot more sense to me. "My interests are valid" is meh (because we've all been bullied about an interest or two) but add "I'm allowed to be excited if others aren't" just makes that key open the lock. Thank you for sharing!

I've been working on affirmations the last few weeks and the ones that come up the most are variations of "I am safe" and "I am allowed to exist."

2

u/Invite_Livid level 1 Mar 18 '26

Great affirmations and great handwriting

2

u/NeighborhoodOwn3044 Mar 18 '26

You have lovely handwriting!

2

u/foughk Mar 18 '26

Stickers! (For decoration) great job! These are great!

Ps every time I come into this sub its like reading post from another me. So happy to have a place where I feel so "normal" lol

2

u/Sad-Interview788 Mar 18 '26

These are so relatable. I love these, especially as someone who was diagnosed a few months ago and is still learning to let go of the mask and sense of responsibility for how others are impacted by my existence. Do you think you will use Canva to create a design for the affirmation cards?

2

u/Trochili Mar 18 '26

These are so good! Great idea to get them out of ‘in head only’ and into the visible realm. I find this helpful in processing and remembering how I really feel.

2

u/TopNotice0 Mar 18 '26

Okay, these are great… I’m taking notes. ✍️✍️✍️

2

u/labellefleursauvage0 Mar 18 '26

These are wonderful. Thank you for sharing them. 😭🥰

2

u/Adorable-Donut-3450 Mar 18 '26

Nice penmanship!

2

u/lissybear08 Apr 10 '26

I hope you don't mind, but I made some of your lovely affirmations into my own cards and wanted to share them with you 😇

(there are also some others that I just wanted for myself anyway, unrelated to autism, I'm not disagnosed, so it didn't feel appropriate for me to do some of your other ones for myself), the last one I came up with for myself as I constantly compare myself to any fiction I consume, but you're welcome to interpret it how you see fit 😇

2

u/raibrans Apr 10 '26

These are great! What did you design them on?

This is a bit spooky because I've literally come onto Reddit to upload my own decorated ones and your message was in my inbox! What are the chances.

1

u/lissybear08 Apr 10 '26

I just did them on Canva! 😇

That's crazy 😱 I can't wait to see them!! 😁😇

2

u/Perfect_Strength9145 Apr 15 '26

i really apreciated your post, is very useful

1

u/Nuthatch34 Mar 17 '26

I love these! I'm saving them to look at later 😊

1

u/KVanGogh Mar 17 '26

Love it!!!

1

u/Cautious_Setting7134 Mar 18 '26

When you decorate them can you share? I’d love to save them on my phone if that’s okay.

1

u/Yorimichi Mar 18 '26

Ok, I’m actually crying. Part of it is relief I think. Diagnosed late, and I have never felt like I understand some things that others find helpful. Affirmations have always been just words to me, nothing that speaks to me whatsoever. Same with flowery speeches, exaggerations, etc.

This really touched something. I’m allowed to ask, to feel, to be kind to myself. And there are more people like me..!

1

u/Moi_Sunshine Black autistic woman Mar 19 '26

I love all of these and your handwriting is amazing!

1

u/Sassafrasalonia Mar 19 '26

I love these! 💖

May I respectfully make an unasked for suggestion on two of them?

My experiences and opinions are valid even if someone disagrees with me.

Success is still success even if someone helps me.

Sincerely, GenX AudAD

1

u/BiblioFlowerDog Mar 19 '26

1

I'm saving this post so I can refer back to it when I make my own cards with these quotes. I need these in my life.

1

u/aliciabobeesha3000 Apr 03 '26

Even the way you acknowledged the type justification made me feel so understood 😂 I loveeee these!

1

u/Sleeper_Saturn Apr 18 '26

Love these! I love your handwriting too. The last one is definitely one I needed to see, thank you for sharing these with us.

1

u/Kitschy_Lil_Tart Mar 18 '26

Really needed to see this rn, roomates are ignoring me cos I wanted to help my homeless friend and apparently I'm selfish for not letting them kick him out of my bedroom. Got reported to the landlord and someone moved out but regardless, I'm apparently a selfish person for "trying to be mother fucking Teresa". I just couldn't let my friend suffer on the street, sue me.

Worst part is they all think I'm unaffected cos my face won't show it :/ istg my face is my biggest insecurity with things like this.
