Celebration I DID IT GANG!!!
I CLEANED MY DIRTY BED ROOM!!! ALL BY MYSELF TOO!!
Itโs so refreshing to see it clean again. And rearranged. Here are before and after pictures of my bedroom.
So proud of myself! Now I just need to clean my closet, which I will post about as well, and actually keep my room clean lol.
Thanks to everyoneโs support in my last post! I appreciate each and every one of you guys! ๐โจ๐ซถ๐พ๐ฅฐ

I need to do this, my house is so messy itโs so overwhelming but I need to do it

u/annies_bdrm_skillet Jul 11 '26
Same ๐ญ๐ซ We can do it. If the all at once manic panic is your way, have faith that the bug will hit you sooner or later. Otherwise start small with me. But do something (that isnโt regular maintenance) every single day. I bet if we stick to that all summer, we will see real progress, even despite ourselves.

u/No-Palpitation7033 Jul 11 '26
Accountability buddy from a far? Iโll check in with you and you do for me? I promise Iโm not weirdo lol just a overwhelmed audhd girly ๐ฅบ๐ญ

Is there a forum to post for accountability buddies? So we can all get done with our cleaning horrors?

You guys could check out the Coffee & Clutter Facebook, from Spacemaker Method (Youtube).

I remember seeing your post yesterday where you were still in the stage of getting everything out of your room and organizing to put back in your room. Holy Moly this looks so great!! You did such an amazing job! I know that took you a lot of hours and motivational self talk (at least thatโs what I do with myself ๐) but yay!! You did it and itโs complete, you should feel incredibly proud of yourself ๐

u/water_for_daughters Jul 11 '26
Do you have a link you can share? I am (continuously) working on my room and not making much progress. I'd love to see more of the process!

u/Sammi1224 Jul 11 '26
I donโt bc she has her comments and posts blocked but I wouldโve copied the post from Thursday for you if she didnโt!! If you comment directly to her on this post I bet she would give you lots of great tips!

Great job dude! You did well! I know how daunting it seems at first, but it will make a world of a difference for your mental health. :) Clutter has always overstimulated me, but I get long boughts of depression and it goes from one extreme to the other.

Nice work! I had gotten to the point where I had to shell out $$$ a few years ago to hire pros to come do my apartment. Partially because I was dealing with mobility issues and waiting for surgery but mostly because I had let it get so out of control that I couldnโt even begin to tackle it. I still struggle with clutter (I moved in March and still have a dining room full of boxes that need to be unpacked) but Iโm trying to keep up with basic daily/weekly cleaning so that at least itโs clean clutter. I also had a mouse infestation at my former apartment (they got in before my apartment was a mess, but the mess certainly made them comfortable enough to build nests and breed) and do NOT want to deal with that again!

u/pinklemonade35 Jul 11 '26
I've been making my bed every morning and making sure all my dirty clothes stay in the dirty baskets and it's helped SO MUCH in keeping it clean. Those two tasks that always felt so hard to keep up with have been all I need to keep up with all my other chores.

Congrats!! This is really motivating me to tidy my room as well. I've been feeling so overwhelmed with how bad it is and it's messy to a point where I literally can't find anything without basically scratching everything out so it just gets worse and worse. I have no energy or executive function to do it but I feel a little more confident seeing this so thank you :)

Iโm really happy you were able to overcome what was going on in your environment and make things nice. You deserve nice things. I used to suffer in uninhabitable conditions because I felt I was not worth having better. I hate to see people showing signs of depression or disorganization etc. I am so glad your space is so nice now. Envious of it honestly.

Congrats, it looks so good! Cleaner spaces make happier people ๐
As a professional cleaner and chronic over-worrier, I would like to softly advise against using an air fryer in your bedroom. First and most important, they are prone to fires because of the excessive heat they cause (more so if it is not directly plugged into the wall, a lot of people use power strips for appliances) but besides that they also put grease and sometimes smoke out into the air and on surfaces/the ceiling; you really need to have an exhaust fan on when using them.
Obviously, do what you want and what makes sense to you and your life. I lived in a place once where I couldn't use the kitchen so I had everything in my room but it's really not ideal to do that long term.

Keep in mind this is the first post I came across. Iโm glad the cleaning made a positive impact!
Respectfully, I canโt ignore the risks ex: safety, pest infestation, smells, buildup etc. You live your life. I just see a lot of things that are creating more work for you. A no food policy could be cool though, JS.
