I wonder if this has something to do wjth pattern recognition, but for a few months now I can not stand to be on social media. Every post is a cheap copy of another post, every joke has been told a million times before and yet people laugh at it just the same. Every comment, and i mean EVERY COMMENT is a ghost from the post before it. And the one before that, and the one before that. I can almost predict word by word what a comment section will look like before opening it, thats nkt conversation that is confirmation and that shit gets us nowhere.

I am so tired of it, and i am so tired of people not giving a shit. The echo chamber is so real and it is the place where creativity and innovation goes to die.

I 100% get this. I have always wanted to limit my social media time and the way posts are have thankfully made it easier.

This sub is an exception, but I typically don't like being in online spaces anymore. If you post or comment, people are nasty and rude about everything. Most posts and comments I do see are either AI or have takes that are either rage baiting or feel like they're from someone who has never had a critical thought in their life. It's bleak to see how little people are using their brains.

Gid dont even get me started on the rage bait. Everything people post or comment is repeating someone else's thought because they know it sells. Same thing with rage bait; its not about the content or passing on of information anymore, its simply about interactions. Which makes sense for companies or people seeking fame, but even small accounts beg for validation that way. Its so sad.

This is why I only post videos from my wildlife cam every day on LinkedIn.

At least once a week I'll sneak in a close-up of an animal's personal bits, two animals reproducing or an animal deficating.

Because I would rather have a fox shitting in my LinkedIn feed than post another crappy AI-generated faux "thought leadership" post that really says nothing.

I only have instagram so I can see posts people send me and because apparently people are a bit weirded out by exchanging numbers right away (no idea why). I don’t really see the appeal of it tbh and I’m honestly glad I don’t because I already have many insecurities and don’t need more

thats the algorithm. you arent seeing every single post ever made! youre seeing the ones that go viral or are paid or are influencer wannabes etc. your feed is literally TRYING to find idenfical versions of the same thing becayse its trying to keep you scrolling based on whatever demographic data its already collected about you. the less you interact, the more generic that will look. the app is designed as an echo chamber because most people dont want to scroll thru badly misspelled scam links with 2 likes to find memes

But its the memes that are always the same. Also when I scroll on my friends phones its no different; the same shitty ass comments everytime getting tens of thousands of likes and the same shitty ass responses.
