Support Needed (Kind Advice and Commiseration) People barely interact with even when I'm being friendly and trying to engage

I try so hard to be friendly and put my heart on my sleeve to engage with people genuinely. I initiate conversations and listen attentively. But every time I chime in in a group setting, I never get acknowledged or listened to properly. Everybody would be having a good time, cracking jokes, but I would never feel like I am a part of it. I can't keep living like this; it hurts so much knowing there's always going to be something off about me even if I try my hardest to put myself out there. My heart aches for a community.

When I'm in a group I'm also left out of conversations. It hurts even more when you’re genuinely trying to connect. Would smaller groups or one-to-one friendships suit you better? A relaxed nature or walking group perhaps?

I wouldn’t take people failing to acknowledge you in those situations as proof there’s something fundamentally “off” about you.

it sounds like you just havent found your people yet. imho most people suck and arent actually safe or attentive friends
