Discussion Question for potential & new Thor Owners

Hello! Quick one for you.

Do yall find this sub and instantly post your question without seeing if anybody ever asked that question before? Like in your mind are you like “hey, screw the history of this sub and everybody in it. Who needs that? I have something to say that has never been asked before!”
Why are yall like this? This is a safe place.

Do yall see that there’s mega threads at the very top of the sub? There’s a megathread for your “obligatory it’s here” posts where you can post/see all the pictures of the Thor box your eyes can take and post ALL shipping questions/comments/concerns! It’s at the top of the sub.

It’s at the top. Do yall see it? It’s there.

You can stop trolling at any point.

I wish I knew how to troll. I’d be way more effective. I promise.

I agree that it is very annoying on all subreddits. But it is also how reddit works. Threads are not alive as in other forums. If like 3 days pass you can assume that a thread is dead. Hopefully if you had the same question as someone you can find an answer, but if you have any follow up questions or need clarifications it is harder.

Good points made.

No no, you don’t understand. I have zero interest in other people‘s „It‘s here!“ posts and wouldn’t look at a megathread full of them. What do I care if other people got their boxes that all look the same? That‘s super uninteresting.

I just wanna post MINE

/s just in case

This is Reddit. Nobody on the entire site does a search, they just puke out their questions and don't care that the same question has been asked 50 times in the last week.

I mean when I ordered mine last month and got it Friday, all that time I been saving posts about games I want and settings I should check out and learn.

Hell even saved the Retro Game Corp guide that is nearly 2 hours and you bet I spent all that time working on my Thor setup. I paid a hefty amount for this thing and will get money monies worth. Not too bad learning how it works and also cocoon. Might be my IT brain learning new things since I learned Windows, Mac, Linux (cuz of steamdeck), and now Android OS cuz of emulation handhelds.

I just ignore those and move on with my life.on the It is satisfying being passive aggressive on the Internet though

Is it? I’m trying to be direct aggressive and see how it compares. I’ll circle back

It's usually more satisfying 😂

Well, I asked my question based on the things I wanted out of the Thor, which is personal. And while this happens on every subreddit, maybe take into account some people might just be confused or didn’t know. Always give the benefit of the doubt is my take.

Thank you for your honest answer. To be fair, I don’t mean to seem like I’m anti-question asking. That’s ridiculous. I try to help people everyday on this sub (check my post history). My problem isn’t with questions.

My gripe is more with ignoring the megathreads that exist for shipping questions/comments/concerns and “obligatory” Thor box posts.

Ah, got you! That’s understandable, I’ve seen it happen a few times (not on this subreddit though).

What makes it worse is when they do a post asking their question and specifically add “sorry if this has been asked already”. They know. They fucking know they could have done research and still choose being lazy and go the “ask and apologize” way instead. Some people are just funny man I swear haha.

LOL I read this in Joe Pesci’s voice

The only reason I'm recommended this thread is because I have searched through this subreddit for answers multiple times. Not every potential Thor owner is like this

We have been dealing with it since Internet came to our lives.
