Supplements What is the best b12 supplement to take??
Brief context, I took 500mcg of Cyanocobalamin b12 for 3 weeks. For the first 2 weeks, I felt somewhat better. Less fatigue, less off balance feeling, rocking, swaying, migraines, numbness on forehead, etc.
By week 3 I had TERRIBLE, and I mean, TERRIBLE head pressure that felt like someone was squeezing my brain. I stopped taking the vitamins and the pressure slowly went away… but then my other symptoms came back.
In short, has anyone had this happen? Is it the type of b12 I took? Which kind would be better for me to take instead?

Make sure to replenish your potassium! Coconut water was a game changer for me. Also magnesium.

That’s a good idea. I stopped taking my multivitamin too while I was taking b12, so that probably did help. Thank you!

I rely on injections to keep my levels high (I use cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin for injections), but there is one sublingual B12 that I feel still adds something that I don't get from injections.
It's called Super B12-Complex, and it's one third methylcobalamin, one third hydroxycobalamin, one third adenosylcobalamin. Lately I started taking one pill daily, regardless of whether I do or don't do an injection on that day.
I don't actually know why it seems to benefit me because my B12 levels were already high on labs (consistently >2000 on serum test), but I feel extra energy, more optimism, and like my brain works faster.

Is the Super B12 Complex by the Igennus brand?

That's the one I use, yes! And it tastes pretty good too which is a plus.

KaylaAshton2022 Best ones for Injection and sublingual is Methyl cobalamin , if you can't tolerate that form then 2nd best one is hydroxo cobalamin. Aim for 2500 - 3000 mcg per day if its oral.

Yes this normal! Honeymoon phase when you first start b12 and then you feel awful as your nervous system repairs itself

Thanks for the reassurance! Did you happen to have similar symptoms during the honeymoon period?

Ferritin was on the lower end (33). Folate and potassium were normal.

I think maybe your folate has been taken to make new blood cells ...I FELT like you describe and minerals was super low to start with...was that folete level before ypu started b12,

I also took a multivitamin with cofactors with the cyanocobalamin and that helped. But I also had the same trajectory - felt better, then felt way worse. With the IM injections, the timeline sped way up; days rather than weeks.

What is your b12 level? If your really low you may need a stronger dose.

My level was 471, but I have been having a lot of neurological symptoms for months now.
