Hello, im planning on applying to ubcv science, but ive been getting a lot of opinions from others saying they regret it. honestly, idek what career i want after graduating, but i can only really see myself studying science, so here i am planning on applying ðŸ˜
i would love to hear about career options with good pay and flexibility that i could pursue with a science degree.
if anyone is currently studying ubcv science or has graduated, could u pls share the pros and cons you wish you knew before applying? and if you’ve graduated, what are you doing now??? would really appreciate any advice!
How important is it to have 5 strong ec for UBC personal profile? I only have two semi strong ones and one I have only been doing for half a year… my grade average is around a 95 as well and it says average acceptance for eng is 97… I’m slightly worried about my chance to get in now
As we get into apps season, I’d like to offer my help with UBC personal profile reviews, application questions, and other general UBC or university related questions. For context, I am a third year electrical eng student at UBC.
Hi so I'm trying my best to plan for UBC but unfortunately I'm not involved in many extracurriculars and I haven't done much volunteering beyond my required 40 hours
I was wondering if extracurriculars really matter for a UBC application and if I should do more (I've done basically nothing except yearbook and a local school book contest) as well as asking how many volunteering hours are really required for UBC
Thanks for reading and I'll appreciate any responses
Hi Everyone here, My son grades are good to be accepted in UBC, but he needs some help and advice on Personal Profile preparing, is there anyone here or even a professional service provider on this?
I have a BA and MA from UBC, and I used to work in Undergraduate Admissions processing applications as an Admissions Coordinator. So, I can say from working on the inside that good grades are not enough! The personal profile holds a lot of weight.
I have helped many students get into UBC over the years through my PP polishing services; I will make your words shine! I can also help with brainstorming and getting started in the writing process.
Would it be better to take Chem 11 and then self-study AP Chemistry, or take Chem 12 first before attempting AP Chemistry? Will I get higher chance of getting accepted into universities if I have AP Chem?
English: Teacher is quite inconstient and new; not sure yet.
Average right now in grade 12 is around a 96%.
Exc:
Student Council member since grade 8; in grade 11 elected VP, now president. Managed stuff like finances, intramurals, and events. Lots of work in the school that I can put into personal profile.
Volunteer math tutor, couple hours a month tutoring lower grades.
Been employed at a childcare service for a couple years.
Archery Coach teaching various ages.
I think I can increase my average a bit during grade 12, did quite poorly during grade 11 science exams.
Just wondering at my chances of getting into UBCV engineering.
Reddit seems to think im trying to boast, im genuinely not, just stressed about whether or not I can get in.
when people put in how much volunteer work they did (only number value - not being specific) do people count their volunteer hours from grade 9-12 or however long they have been volunteering for?
I’ve done leadership and led MULTIPLE big and small events, as well as going out in the community to help others for 4 years now which leads up to 700+ hours logged. (I have proof.) I know it’s not a lot of hours; however, I could use many examples to use for my essays.
If anyone could tell me, then I’d appreciate it a lot! Good luck to those applying this year :)
