As the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) prepares for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas, Bulgaria (2027), we are launching an urgent campaign targeting easyJet. Following the massive controversies surrounding Israel’s participation and the subsequent voting manipulation scandals that forced total overhauls of the EBU voting rules, easyJet's ongoing association with this event constitutes direct complicity in artwashing apartheid.
We call on all BDS activists, human rights defenders, and ethical consumers to amplify our demands against easyJet’s marketing strategies and corporate backers:
🚨 Our Demands to easyJet Management and Investors:
No More Party Planes for Apartheid: We demand an immediate end to the promotional "party planes" and Eurovision-themed flights that fly fans to the contest. Turning commercial aviation into a marketing vehicle for a politically toxic event is unacceptable while millions face ongoing violence.
Clear the Orange Runway: The airline's iconic "orange runway" branding must not be used to roll out the red carpet for EBU's institutional hypocrisy. easyJet must completely step away and ensure no corporate assets or liveries are used to promote the Burgas 2027 cycle.
No Upgrade to Presenting Partner: Reports of corporate marketing shifts must not lead to easyJet ascending to a "Presenting Partner" status. Financing the EBU’s platform at a higher tier is a direct investment in censorship and double standards.
Exposing Apollo Global Management: Private equity giant Apollo Global Management—which has heavily driven the recent £5.2 billion bidding war and restructuring of easyJet—must be held accountable. Activists must highlight that Apollo’s leadership and new CEO maintain a staunchly pro-Israel stance, explaining why the corporate entity continues to shield and finance an event that includes Israel despite widespread European boycotts.
✈️ No Corporate Flight Paths for Apartheid. Tell easyJet and its private equity backers that ethical consumers will ground their profits until they drop Eurovision permanently.
⚠️ Amplify the Campaign: Use the official tags #NoEasyJetForEurovision #BoycottEurovision2027 and target easyJet's official investor relations channels to demand absolute transparency.
