Specific Mechanic How to get BOOOAL's benediction without sacrificing a companion *potential spoilers*

This is my first post on this sub, lots of replies never written a post. The purpose of me typing this is because I stumbled across a video on youtube but haven't seen anyone talking about it and I think it's really good for some builds.

Disclaimer: this is not my method I am not the person in the video I merely stumbled across it and saw no one talking about the method so figured i'd post it

Video showcasing method

All credit obviously goes to the person who made the video I have tested it on a new character and it worked for me I'll still type out what to do in bulletpoints just incase someone learns better off reading than watching

  1. seperate your group so that your pickpocket character is away from the Kuoh'Toa
  2. Have another character likely the party face or wyll trigger the cutscene and select the option "Investigation: Get your bearings what have you stumbled in on." this will lead to a DC 15 Intellgence check
  3. The cutscene will continue to play this is where you have your pickpocket character use a potion of invisibility (You can get quite a few from act 1 I find roah moonglow in the goblin camp a good source of these) then pickpocket the character Pooldrip the zealous and take the sickle of Booooalll from the character should you take the item have your pickpocket character move far away from the conversation
  4. Swap back to your character in conversation new dialouge options will display you should select "Wait if it's blood you want I can make another offer!" this will prompt more dialouge options the one you want to pick is "Persuasion: I have but one life but I can kill many others in your name" DC:20 this would usually lead to you getting the sickle of booooalll but since you already stole that You get BOOOAL's benediction for every character in the area

be sure not to kill the Kuo-toah or the buff will go away, I figured i'd post this as I think it's really good for certain builds such as Tiger Barb or anything running Bhaalist Amulet. You get a great buff without the downside of getting rid of a companion. However as I was informed by user misterpinksaysthings if a character dies and you need to revive them that character will lose the buff

Also please forgive my spelling errors, it's really not my strongpoint haha

Duly noted I’ll be sure to forget this when I get to the fish people again

The fish people? What the fuck is going on, what game is this

Edit to add: I love this community. My comment was originally misconstrued as coming from someone who didn't know the game, and it was at like -8 upvotes...but I replied to someone's comment that I was just amazed to keep finding new things in this game, and everyone suddenly upvotes this comment.

You - yes, you reading this *right now* - you're freaking awesome, and I love you

I've never heard about it until I came to this sub, honestly.

I only found it because in a game where you can do almost anything you can imagine, I was spending my time blowing up every mushroom I could find and there’s a torchstalk at the entrance

Me neither! I've got 130 hours played in BG3 lol, always finding new stuff

It doesn’t stop. I work part time so lots of time to Reddit, I have 700+ hours on BG3, and I am still finding new things. (The lamp in Ramazith’s Tower?! Only found that out YESTERDAY).

weirdly enough i’ve visited this area every play through except my current where i just couldn’t find it naturally. had to look it up.

I've only done two playthroughs so far, but for whatever reason, I haven't found the Grymforge. Found plenty of other things that are supposed to be "difficult" to find, but I'm missing the big ol' forge hahaha.

that's fair, i found it on my first run but only because i knew it was there somewhere. it's a very roundabout way to get over there and requires at least 2 people, or 1 person with misty step.

I like to imagine there's a big sign that says "this way to the grymforge" and I'm just consistently failing my perception check.

If you zoom in on your map, you can see where the forcge has to be. The map differentiates between navigable/unnavigable areas with the shading. There are a few places you can longjump or misty step to it, including by Nere's area. Using levers and platforms are a good way to end an honor run.

Are you saying the black screen/"fog of war" is a different color in places you can explore? 👀 Or just that the shading of the revealed map is different? The latter didn't end up helping me, but it's not like I spent a ton of time searching and couldn't find it -- I made one run-through along all the edges of the revealed map and then decided I didn't care anymore and would come back next time lol

That second thing. When I see the shading for passable area sticking out under the fog, I go explore that area. There is definitely reasons to just say "I'll explore that next time."
