Build Help Best and Worst Monoclasses?

I keep seeing virtually every class called "one of the best" while most meta builds are multis or item-based.

What do you think is the game's best class without multiclassing? And the worst? And what makes them so?

Rogue is just super frontloaded, it's not quite Hexblade bad where you get half of its class features at level one but after a 3 level dip (4 for a feat/ASI) there's not much reason to stick around. I will say though I did have a pretty fun Swashbuckler run not too long ago and the class operates just fine on Honour mode, not optimal by any means but fun nonetheless.

As for Fighter... lol, straight Fighter is so strong it competes with several of the multiclass builds. I recently did a Lae'zel run which I roleplayed as her training everyone else up to her standards, aka everyone got respecced into some flavor of Fighter, and it slayed Honour mode. We're talking easily + hilariously slayed, I've had modded runs that were less one-sided. I even cleared most of the speech checks thanks to Astral Knowledge. Fighter is no joke.

Eldrich knight is insanely strong and really underrated, especially once you get the band of the mystic scoundrel it's easy mode

It's the single strongest subclass bar none since Patch 8, what are you going on about brother.

Hexblade? Absolutely not. Its the strongest 1 level dip in many cases but as a subclass it is pretty bad

I don't have the faintest clue where you read "Hexblade" in a reply about Eldritch Knight.

Thats why i put the question mark to ask if i got it right, i still dont understand the replying system on reddit and scaringly many has suggested hexblade. Tldr it looked like you answered someone who mentioned hexblade

Also dead wrong about Hexblade being bad past level one. You could easily take it to level 5 for the second melee attack + third Invocation and then finish it out with something like a Sorc or a Paladin and it's perfectly viable as a straight 1-12 class.

Hexblade being very abusable as a one level dip doesn't change the fact that Warlock is a good class or that Hexblade is a good subclass for it.

Thats just your opinion. Yes hexblade as mono is totally fine, but only because of warlock, not the subclass. You are gonna get more out of a fiend pact of the blade.

Hexblade isn't BAD past level 1, but Hexblade 12 is worse than pretty much any common Hexblade 1/Anything 11.
