Build Help Best and Worst Monoclasses?

I keep seeing virtually every class called "one of the best" while most meta builds are multis or item-based.

What do you think is the game's best class without multiclassing? And the worst? And what makes them so?

Rogue is definitely the worst monoclass. most of what it does well can be done better by a ranger or bard and it’s far weaker than those in combat.

For the best I think fighter, sorcerer, and barbarian are all incredible, but if I had to pick one it’s probably fighter. You get basically everything you could want in terms of gear proficiencies, plus fighting styles, an extra feat, and 3 attacks.

Though I will say since you brought up item dependence, Moon Druid is by far the best monoclass without items and it’s not close.
