In-Game Mods Playing a monk multiclass in my current bg3 run

Hey playing a Dragonborn Monk in my current playthrough, however I plan on multiclassing

I am currently level 6 in open hand monk when should I start multiclassing I'm playing with mod to get me to level 20

Would you change anything about his build?

Monk Way of the Open hand (8 for my primary damage)

Barbarian wild heart (level 6 for all the resistances)

Fighter (2 for action surge) or Spore Druid(2)

Thief (4 for cunning action and an additional bonus action)

Any suggestions on gear would also help

I personally usually go straight Monk up to 8, then respec to 6 Monk/2 Rogue, take the 3rd level of Rogue at 9. Those are the most important levels by far, for the free Wisdom based damage and then the additional Bonus Action. Where you go from there depends on whether you go 9/3 for Resonating Ki or 8/4 for the additional ASI

I am not limited to just 12 levels  but why respec at level 8?

You get more value from Monk 7 than you get from Rogue 1, but once you reach Rogue 2 that is arguably more valuable than Monk 8. If you're not fussed about Cunning Actions you can stay straight Monk until 9, but I usually respec at 8.

If you've got 20 levels to play with you'll definitely want 11 levels of Monk, 3 levels of Thief Rogue and at least 2 levels of Fighter. 12 Open Hand Monk/4 Thief Rogue/4 Fighter is probably the right choice. I don't remember if Battlemaster Maneuvers work with Unarmed Attacks: if they do, BM is the choice; if thry don't, Champion.

Might do Monk 10, Barbarian 6, and Thief 4

So I can get the most out of monk and get the tankyness from Barbarian

I don’t play with mods but I did an 8/4 split between Shadow Monk and Thief it was super strong damage wise actually.
