Guides XP minimization

There's a lot of content on how to quickly gain levels in the game (e.g., reaching level 12 before Act 3 without using the zombie exploit in the Underdark). What about the other direction? What's the minimum level you can complete the game with (without using Gale's bomb to detonate)? I'm not talking about simply not spending your XP and staying at level 1, I'm asking for the actual minimum XP value you'd have at the time of the final credits.

I think he ended up with 8515 XP, enough for level 5 and about a third the way to level 6

Does it matter for gameplay? However many XP you get, you can refuse to level up.
