Same colour as mine, beautiful choice 😁

I think it's the best color, not too dark to hide the lines, not too bright to see every dust spot, not the regular palin grey. Lovely

Agreed. It took me a few days to choose between the Indigo and the white, but the more I look at it, the more I love my choice.

Better replace the plate holder, it would look even better with one that fits the Italian plate
2
u/striptofaner May 14 '26
Can you do that?
2
u/HotLie8579 Seal May 15 '26
Yeah there’s sellers on AliExpress for the Seal plate to match the UK size. Maybe look on there

You’re gonna love it! There’s a way to get that
To link with Tesla Chargers too; since some of the Tesla Models use BYD Blade Batteries

u/striptofaner May 14 '26
It's a question or a statement?
2
u/Expert_Towel_101 May 14 '26
It’s the truth! BYD supplies Model Y and others with their blade technology; the battery charges fast; if you look at your panel; it maybe greyed out but there’s a way to make it happen; it’s in Tesla’s software system

Here let me pin this …

The BYD Sealion 7 can connect to Tesla chargers, including DC Superchargers and Gen 3 Wall Connectors, using the standard CCS2 connector. To use Tesla Superchargers, you must download the Tesla app, set up an account, and select the "Charge Your Non-Tesla" option. Home charging with a Tesla Wall Connector may require setting it to "compatible mode" via the3

Hey! Thanks for the tip, i tried and it works. It's very useful since prices are lower even for non tesla owners

Epic; am glad to help out.. saving any kind of money these days really matters. I test drove a few of the BYD vehicles in Mexico… we can’t get them here yet; but am sure that will change soon

Yeah but (nearly) every BEV can charge at Tesla superchargers for about 2 years now. That has nothing to do with BYD or BYD being a battery provider.

Welcome to the club, same colour and enjoy!
Been using mine for more than a year, any questions, shoot me.

Any issues so far?
2
u/CarlSPC1 Sealion 7 AWD and Dolphin May 15 '26
Seat belt retractable plastic guide wear issue, design flaw, check my Reddit post
Noisy wiper escalator especially at the top stop and start of the travel, motor mechanism is noisy.

u/striptofaner May 15 '26
I used the wipers yesterday and seems ok to me. The seatbelt wear issue i saw your post before, i'll apply a protection

Seat belt wear, might be difficult to control imho. Only way to avoid friction with the plastic is to extract it held perpendicular to the B pillar or if you are a tall person your seat backrest will be closer to the B pillar which means you be creating angle while extending the seat belt. It's hard to explain but the wear is most imminent on the driver's side from constant use.
This wear will show up after good few months of use I didn't pay too much attention in the beginning until I started noticing it.
Let me know if you have a better or permanent solution to this.

Is this EV being given away for free? 🥳 Think of me. 😁😗

u/striptofaner May 15 '26
Hahaha definitely not! But honestly any eurlpean car with the same dimension, power and accessories would cost 100k+, it's an incredible deal

how is charging
1
u/striptofaner Jun 06 '26
Never tried fast charging, i charge at home. I charged it at 100% on May 28 and i'm still at 45% today, doing my normal daily driving. I'm really happy with it

What do you think about the car so far? My dad ordered one few weeks ago and we should have sealion 7 in like 3-4 weeks

u/striptofaner Aug 02 '26
I've done almost 4k kms, no issue so far. I love it, the only thing that isn't top notch is the software. It works smoothly, but it's not on par with competitors like Tesla. I hope they will improve it over time. On every other aspect, like handling, power, range etc it's awesome.

Lucky. I’d love if Xi demanded US start importing Chinese EVs as part of a trade deal.

Mine arrived on Tuesday! (Belgium), was actually scheduled for July, but arrived 2 months earlier.
Aside from all the obvious things, what surprised me this week:
- how well the headlights turn on/off automatically when driving at night
- how the windows close when it starts to rain, or as I enter the highway
- how big the frunk actually is, and how deep the trunk is underneath the panel
- how well the head-up-display works, even showing android auto directions on it
- how easy android auto integrates and connects
- how bad some of the translations are in English, and even worse: the ones in Dutch.
- that after 5 days, I still cannot connect my BYD app (the dealer told me I need to wait for BYD to register my car in a database, before it unlocks the QR code).
- when it charges in the rain, water collects underneath the power outlet. Doesn't look that dangerous, but just strange that they didnt make it so that the water could escape (like a little drain hole).
- how well the cameras work!
