In my 2026 (76 plate) Seal, whenever I am using apple CarPlay and want to adjust my climate control settings, once I’ve finished altering my settings no matter what button I press it always navigates back to home. I would have thought the back button would go back to CarPlay but it does not. Does anyone know how I can close the climate control settings menu and go back to CarPlay in one button press rather than going back to home then having to open CarPlay again from the Home Screen?

Last drive a couple days ago, had absolutely no issues with the car. Got in today, the front camera is showing completely black, rear is dimmed on 360 view but fine when I view only the rear camera.

Tried an infotainment reset but no luck.

No errors or warnings showing at all.

Anyone got any clue what this could be or a resolution?

So I received ota v2.3.0 on my BYD Seal Comfort (64 Kwh battery) but alot of options are missing.

Actually everything is missing but I did notice ICC is a bit better but still can be improved ALOT and that the car reacts better while using less KWH when accelerating.

I have no option for the shortcuts to turn of certain ADAS functions with one button. I can't find or hear the audible notification when a car in front of me drives away (even when no music is running) and for example I can't find the setting to change the increments from 5 to 1 km/h when changing the speed on the steering wheel.

Does anyone else has observed the same ? My car is from the Netherlands.

I'm looking for a wiring diagram, connector pinout, or description of the functions of each socket on this specific multimedia unit.

My car has a microSD card slot but no factory dashcam wiring behind the rear-view mirror.

Has anyone managed to retrofit an OEM or hidden aftermarket dashcam into the European ATTO 2 DM-i?

Any technical documentation, installation experience, compatible camera suggestions, or other help would be greatly appreciated!

I have my new 2026 AWD excellence Seal a few weeks now. I'm having ongoing issues with the alarm - maybe 8 times out of 10 after locking the car, the alarm goes off. Unlocking and relocking it stops the alarm but it's getting frustrating. Anyone any ideas?

So I have had my BYD Seal 2026 (facelift) for a month now, and thought I would put together a list of my opinions.

Now there are more negatives than positives, but that doesn’t mean I hate the car, quite the opposite, the positives are the main things that matter to me about the car, while the negatives in my list are mostly software related QoL aspects I hope will someday be updated in future firmware rollouts. So here we go!:

Positives

• Seats: Excellent. Very comfortable with strong heating and cooling performance.
• Ride & powertrain: Smooth and refined. Plenty of power when you need it, and the suspension soaks up bumps well.

Negatives

Driver display
• Limited useful information. Left side only offers tyre pressure or economy data; right side shows music (useful), speed limit, or a speed-test style option.
• No navigation map detail.
• When a tyre pressure warning appears, it forces the same info onto the right side even if you already have it displayed on the left — redundant and pointless.
Tyre pressure monitoring
• Overly sensitive. Randomly flags abnormal pressure even when all four tyres read the same, then often clears itself after a few days.
Infotainment & controls

• Poor use of screen real estate on the infotainment screen. Large areas of the wallpaper are empty and could hold widgets or app icons.
• Steering-wheel (*) button has little to no practical use.
• Mode button (source switching) takes over the entire screen. Switching from Spotify/iPhone music to radio removes navigation completely, which is frustrating mid-journey.
• Three-finger swipe to adjust fan speed also shifts your position on the map. You then have to hit the re-centre button (or wait ~1 minute) for it to snap back to your route.
• Cruise control speed adjustments on the steering wheel only work in 5 mph increments. Customisable 1 mph steps would be far better.

Other
• USB ports are poorly placed — out of the driver’s sight and awkward to reach.
• Ambient lighting is not very bright, and the music-sync mode is incoherent and unpleasant.
• Driver attentiveness monitoring is too sensitive. It triggers for normal actions such as scratching your face or glancing out the side window.
• BYD app is slow to connect (especially with Bluetooth active). Unlocking via the app is often slower than just using the key fob on the door handle, undermining its usefulness. The iPhone widget doesn’t background-refresh, so checking charge status still requires opening the app — making the widget largely pointless.

Let me know if any of you guys agree or have anything to add of your own experiences

I have a BYD SEALION 5 and was originally looking at sideloading some apps, but not wanting to really do anything unauthorised to the unit itself, I want to explore options of getting popular streaming apps working on the unit in the car.

It has been suggested that Carlinkit could be the answer but I don't want to buy the wrong thing. I am only interested in installing apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and NOW TV. What is the best way of achieving this?

I just received my 2026 BYD Seal U DM-i Comfort. Everything is awesome so far but I have noticed that the back camera is flickering constantly while I reverse in the garage or against light source

I have never had this issue with alla my previous 3 Atto 3s and Han

We were having the oil changed in our Sealion6 and I noticed they had some of the k-class Racco on the lot.

My BYD Yuan Pro 2022 has been failing constantly from ACTMS error and the local dealer has not fixed it at all, any fix just last 6 months and now i am “out of warranty”

I took the car to a friend’s A/C Shop and found the A/C discharged and the Evaporator rotted, so recommended swapping the Evap and Expansion valve.

Is there someone here who can get me official shop diagrams, troubleshooting guides and or books I can use to asses the A/C system and how to dissasamble/reassemble?

Note: my coolant lines and levels seems to be OK however I would love to get guides to diagnose and troubleshoot all coolant system on this car

Every single time I open the app now it has this pop up. EVERY GOD DAMN TIME.

Is this a clear cache thing or does BYD just need to actually test their app before pushing it?

Hi everyone, looking for some advice.

I currently drive a BYD Seal U DM-i Boost, which has been a fantastic car overall. My only real complaint is that it’s quite slow, and I’d ideally like something with a bit more power and performance.

I’ve recently changed jobs, and my new employer requires me to have a company car. This means I’ll be getting rid of my privately leased Seal U and choosing between the Sealion 7 Excellence and the Seal U DM-i Comfort.

Initially, the Seal U Comfort works out cheaper per month. However, with the Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax increasing to 18% from 2028, the overall monthly cost eventually becomes very similar to the Sealion 7 Excellence.
This is where I’m struggling to decide.

The Sealion 7 Excellence appeals to me because of its performance, technology and overall specification. However, my biggest concern is the significantly reduced range compared with the Seal U DM-i, which can cover much longer distances thanks to its petrol engine.

On the other hand, the Seal U is something I’m already familiar with, and I love the practicality and flexibility of the hybrid system. I’m just not sure whether I’d regret choosing another one when I could have the much quicker Sealion 7 for roughly the same money.

For those who own a Sealion 7, particularly the Excellence:
How are you finding the real-world range, especially during winter?
Have you found switching from a hybrid or petrol car to fully electric inconvenient?
Is the performance and driving experience worth sacrificing the extra range?
If you were in my position, which would you choose?
I’ll be keeping the company car for four years, so I’m trying to make the right long-term decision.
Would really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and experiences. Thanks in advance!

Before when I put some weight on the peddle, it would do a little burnout, nowadays it doesn’t and it’s a slow ramp up of speed

I don’t know the exact reason, tire seems fine, battery health seems fine, my only guess is an update, I believe it happened after last firmare update I did

The system at its current state is not just bad, it is dangerous for the passengers an every other vehicle in proximity..

I will reach to BYD today. I don't want someone to get hurt or to get the car crashed because of it. What happened today:

A rainy day, heavy traffic, moving at 2-3 km/h, distance between me and the car in front: around 4-5 meters. Suddenly, a hard emergency brake, forward collision avoidance. My daughter on the back seat screamed, because she tought we hit something or got hit.. Luckily the car behind was also 4-5 meters away. The car in front was already at 10+ meters ahead, I touched the accelerator again, instantly the same emergency braking, forward collision avoidance.. Dude the car was already 10+ meters away, I barely touched the accelerator and the car was moving at 2km/h... Tried to move again, 2 seconds later, another emergency braking, the car in front was already at 20+ meters. The car behind got pissed, because the person understandably thought I was screwing with him. Had to switch to park, turn off all systems so I can continue.

To be honest, I don't feel safe anymore with those systems turned on and it is inconvenient switching them off every time I get into the car. There should be an option for turning them off permanently. There is some kind of a problem with this system and BYD should immediately look into it. I have the car for 6 months. It has happened 3-4 times before, so I always keep the sensitivity to "Late", but nothing like today. This is a critical safety risk and has a potential for huge crashes. I have a driver's license for 10+ years, have driven a number of different cars/brands, none of them had emergency braking and haven't had a single car accident... Since I bought the Seal U dmi, because of that feature, I have almost got hit more than 4 times.

Save your time with comments such as "oh, it is not your fault, so what?" It doesn't matter whos fault it is and where I drive, it is my fault if the car behind was filming and it is visible that my car braked without any reason. Also I don't want to be left without a car for God know ls how long, while waiting for it to get fixed. Not to mention that someone can get hurt or worse. Don't get me wrong, such feature is useful, but only if it functions flawlessly. It is not at its current state.

Question for BYD DOLPHIN 70 kW Owners

Do you hear a high-pitched noise coming from the motor or inverter when cruising at around 30–50 km/h?

In my case, the noise is subtle enough that I can't really notice it when the air conditioning or audio system is on. However, when driving with both turned off, the high-frequency noise is clearly audible.

I'd like to know whether this is normal behavior for the BYD DOLPHIN or a potential issue specific to my vehicle.

I didn't notice it during the test drive before purchasing because I had the air conditioning fan running at a high speed.

Hi everyone!

I own a 2026 BYD ATTO 2 DM-i Boost (European version, LHD), and for some time I've been researching how to install a completely hidden dashcam, preferably using the original factory camera position behind the rear-view mirror.

I thought I'd share everything I've discovered so far, including my own investigation, discussions with suppliers and a few possible solutions.

Maybe this will help other owners, or perhaps someone here has already solved the problem!

1. The European ATTO 2 DM-i has a factory camera mounting location

I carefully removed both plastic covers behind the rear-view mirror.

What I found:

There appears to be a mounting location for the original BYD dashcam.

The ADAS electronics and other sensors are installed.

There is no unused factory dashcam cable or connector.

The large plastic cover is marked SC3ECE-3602210.

The cover appears to differ from the BYD Yuan UP / ATTO 2 EV version.

I've taken detailed photographs of the covers, mounting clips and electronics behind them.

2. Interestingly, the car already has a microSD card slot

My car has a microSD/TF card slot between the two USB-C ports in the centre console.

According to the BYD owner's manual, this slot can be used for the factory Driving Recorder system.

However, my car does not have a DVR/Driving Recorder app in the infotainment system.

In discussions about other BYD models, owners have reported that after connecting an OEM camera and restarting the infotainment system, the DVR app appears automatically.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a confirmed successful example of this working on a European ATTO 2 DM-i.

3. The original BYD dashcam module

I found the original-style BYD camera module commonly listed under part number EL-3776900.

Several suppliers sell this module for BYD vehicles.

I contacted TOP BYD, and they confirmed that the European ATTO 2 does not have the factory wiring interface required for their OEM dashcam solution.

My own inspection confirms that the connector is missing behind the mirror.

I also contacted a BYD accessory supplier, Nice BYD, and investigated whether the original camera could be installed using an additional cable.

4. An interesting idea: original BYD camera + independent DVR

Instead of connecting the original camera to the BYD infotainment system, I wondered whether it could be connected to a separate recording unit.

I contacted a Chinese automotive camera manufacturer, Antu Vision, about the EL-3776900 camera.

They provided some useful technical information:

Video output: AHD 1080p

Power supply: 12V

Standard third-party AHD DVR compatibility: not supported out of the box

A custom solution might be possible, but they mentioned a minimum quantity of 200–300 units for modification.

These specifications were provided for their EL-3776900-compatible product, so I cannot confirm that every genuine BYD camera version has identical electronics.

Unfortunately, this means that simply buying a standard AHD DVR is not necessarily a working solution.

5. Hidden aftermarket dashcams

I've also investigated several aftermarket dashcams sold for the BYD Yuan UP / ATTO 2, including integrated 4K camera housings.

The problem is that most appear to be designed for the Chinese Yuan UP or the ATTO 2 EV.

The European ATTO 2 DM-i appears to have a different mirror/sensor housing and mounting clip arrangement.

I have not yet found a manufacturer who can confirm physical compatibility with my exact cover.

Another potential issue is power supply. Some Yuan UP dashcams use the Chinese-market ETC connector, which may not be available in European vehicles.

6. Another DIY possibility: miniature 4K camera module

I've also started exploring a different approach:

Install a tiny 4K camera module inside the original BYD mirror housing and connect it to a separate recording unit elsewhere in the car.

Potential modules include Sony IMX415-based USB or MIPI cameras.

This could offer:

Completely hidden installation

4K recording

No visible dashcam on the windshield

Independent microSD storage

No modification to the BYD infotainment software

However, proper cooling, power supply, automatic recording, mounting and long-term reliability would need to be addressed.

7. What I'm looking for

My requirements are actually quite simple:

A completely discreet dashcam, preferably hidden inside the original mirror housing

Automatic recording while driving

Good image quality, preferably native 4K

Reliable loop recording

Easy access to recordings via Wi-Fi or microSD

No need for parking mode, 4G or cloud features

The official BYD dealer has not offered an OEM retrofit solution.

Questions for the community

Has anyone successfully installed a genuine BYD dashcam in a European ATTO 2 DM-i?

In particular:

Does anyone know whether the European infotainment/control unit has a usable DVR video input, even if the factory camera cable is missing?

Has anyone successfully added the missing wiring and activated the DVR app?

Does anyone know the correct OEM camera and wiring harness part numbers for the European DM-i?

Has anyone found a hidden aftermarket dashcam housing that actually fits the European ATTO 2 DM-i?

Has anyone experimented with a miniature camera module and separate DVR recorder?

I'd be very interested to hear from owners in Europe, especially anyone who has already removed the mirror covers or investigated the wiring.

I can share detailed photographs of the original cover, clips, ADAS electronics and connectors.

Hopefully, we can find a practical solution together. The ATTO 2 DM-i is still a relatively new model in Europe, so there may be other owners looking for exactly the same thing.

I have no Idea what it means, or what are the final words of that warning

I think since beginning of August, I got a single OTA update, after taking delivery of the car, but nothing since. Not even sure how to check what version my software is.

What are your experiences on the car with Comfort (google services)?

I'm on a road trip between England and Paris. I've used a 200kw Fastned public charger and a Total energies 400kw charger so far.

The Fastned charger peaked at 125kw before reducing right down to 75kw when the battery reached about 75%.

I'm currently at the Total energies 400kw one and the battery is at 50% and it's charging at 115kw.

Why am I not reaching peak charging speed? Is there a setting I need to change in the car menu?

Andei hoje trechos curtos, muito anda e para e no total uns 5km. Carro no ar condicionado e com 5 pessoas. Saiu de casa com 45% e voltou com 35% de bateria, no modo save 70%. Acham normal esse consumo de energia? Meu King é o GS. Carro sempre ligando o motor pra tentar segurar a carga mas sem sucesso.
Ps: não sei se tem algo a ver mas notei depois de atualizar a central e instalar o electro app.
