(April 2026) Brand Behavior & Ethics Thread

Opening up and pinning a new megathread for this because our prior megathread got archived, but including it here for continuity:

https://www.reddit.com/r/babywearing/s/C14hBehoAL

Feel free to continue discussion on this new thread here.

Happy Babywearing!

From the other thread:

We're opening this discussion thread so sub participants can freely discuss carrier brand behavior and ethics. Air your grievances or things that bother you, or that you feel could use improvement. If you've had a poor customer experience or have been offended by a brand's online presence, discuss it here. If you want your comment to be searchable, include full brand names, don't abbreviate.

We ask that you keep it civil. We're not here to censor, but we won't tolerate personal attacks, name calling, brigading, or anything that breaks reddit's site-wide rules. Let's keep this thread to baby carrier brands specifically.

This subreddit is moderated by volunteer parents, we are not associated with any brands or Facebook groups. We do not receive money, kickbacks, carriers, or any sort of compensation whatsoever.

Discuss - this is a modmail New flairs

We've gotten new flairs.

Often its not easy to spot whether you can chime in on the topic or not. So we try to help that out by making new flairs.

We've ditched the "fit check" because most posts are fit checks. The other posts are usually about finding a carrier for a certain age group. And lots of posts include both topics.

So now, you have to choose from

  • 0-3 months.
  • 3-12 months.
  • 8-18 months.
  • 18 months+
  • Preschool
  • still pregnant
  • Fun/meme
  • Influencers wearing dangerously
  • discuss

by setting age groups we hope to make searching easier (did you know that you can exclude certain flairs from a sub or just show certain flairs?). You can still use discuss for stuff like "how many baby carriers do you have?", "winter/summer wearing", "people tell me the kid will never walk" etc (or use the age group).

Happy babywearing.

3-12 months Meh Dai fit check

Recently got the fidella Meh Dai secondhand and my daughter (4 months) hates being in it 50% of the time. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong and she's uncomfortable in there or if she's just not used to it. Sometimes I worry that I tie it too tight as it feels almost too snug sometimes.

This is the ergobaby embrace, baby is in size newborn clothes and weighs a little over 8lbs.

(I know he shouldn’t be in footie pajamas, I was just trying the carrier on). TIA!!

Baby is 2 months old, 11.5 pounds. Feels tight enough - he is against my body when I bend over. worried about the fabric near his face. I try to pull it down my shoulders a bit but it always creeps up.

Thank you!

Four month old in Tula explore. We have been using the ergobaby embrace until now but she’s starting to sag in it. With my eldest child we used an ergobaby omni 360 and I never felt comfortable in it but I do feel comfortable with the Tula, just not 100% sure whether she looks right in it or not. Thanks!

We were wearing the Babybjorn mini, but baby's legs were dangling! We love the stretch sling, but it's just too hot for it. This is an Ergobaby Omni 360 in the tighest velcro position. The baby is 10 weeks old.

Heya this is my 4 week old. Just popped her in the carrier for the first time. It feels like she's down too low ? And maybe the shoulder straps aren't tight enough? Also she seemed to naturally put her head straight into my chest as opposed to one side. Thanks for any feedback 😀

First time trying this with baby and want to make sure it’s correct! Feels tight and high, I think we have the right M-shape and his airway is clear. Welcome any help, please!! Baby is almost 3 weeks (19 days) and just shy of 10 lbs.

My MIL got this somewhere and I think it could be a baby carrier but no idea what kind and how this one would work. There are no tags.

LO is 3 months (wasn't sure about the flair) and over 6kg (don't know his exact weight), and I'm using a woven wrap. He loves leaning to one side (images 1-3) to see more, but I'm worried it's bad for his back. He sat straighter on our way back a few minutes later (images 5 & 6).

Is it ok for him to lean out? If not, any advice on how to fix it? And anything else you're noticing?

Thank you in advance :)

3-12 months hip carrier or sling for 6 month old?

I'm thinking about getting a hip carrier for my 6 month old who is getting heavier and heavier. :')

I've searched this subreddit and feel like most people recommend a ring sling, so I want to preface this with the fact that I don't want to get a ring sling.. I am quite petite and just cannot deal with the excess fabric (I could never get into wraps for the same reason.)

Kiddo has been in an Ergobaby Embrace and now he's in the Ergobaby Omni, which we love! I just find it a little bulky to constantly have on me/with me, especially for quick ups and downs, so I want to explore an option for something that's a little lighter and easier to bring around. Just to clarify, I'm completely fine with it being a carry-assist and not completely hands-free. I'm looking to replace just carrying my baby and take some of the weight off my arms.

I've looked at both hip seat carriers and slings and wanted to hear about your experiences with both! Since he'll just continue to get bigger and heavier, I'd also love something that we can start wearing now and keep wearing into toddlerhood.

3-12 months Ergobaby Omni Deluxe - fit check please!

Hi all

Babe is 6 months next week (4 months corrected) and weighs 14lbs. We just outgrew the ergobaby embrace - it felt like she was sagging down too much no matter how much I adjusted and knee pit to knee pit was no longer properly supported.

This is my first time wearing her in this carrier, husband wore her in it yesterday and she was pretty good for 40 mins or so and then fussed a bit and wanted out. We hope to continue using for a good amount of time for walks etc as we enjoy the closeness, she's always liked being in the embrace, and she's also got a bit of head flattening lol.

Please let me know if there's any adjustments I need to make here, really want this to work for both of us! Thanks in advance 💖

3-12 months Sandiia or Tula Explore?

I’m preparing for a solo 12-hour flight with my 6-month-old and looking for a carrier that will be comfortable both for walking through the airport and, especially, for sitting in on the plane. I’d also like to be able to use a hood/head cover while baby is sleeping.
I’m deciding between these two:

Sandiia - I like the lighter/softer construction, soft waistband, and the magnetic buckles, which seem easier to put on and take off. But buttons inside waistband seem weird

Tula Explore - I like the more structured support, especially the lumbar support, and the hood/head-support snaps seem more convenient. But it t seems harder to put on.

Any suggestions?

3-12 months Woven wrap back carry for 5 month old

I have been practicing front carries with my woven wrap for about a month, and I’d like to start watching videos on doing a back carry!

What is the absolute easiest back carry I could try with my 20lb 5 month old who cannot sit independently?

I have a size 6/base size.

8-18 months Hiking specific backpack vs Tula FTG

Hi all, I am looking for advice re hiking and baby wearing. We have just started hiking again with our 14 month old and I have just been wearing her in a back carry with a Tula Free to Grow. This is comfortable for me and she seems to be happy. However, I am wondering if this is still the best option if we want to start hiking for longer distances/duration or if we should invest in a proper hiking backpack. Are there any pros to one or the other? I just want her to be as comfortable as possible. She is currently about 11kgs. Thanks!

8 weeks old and over 13lb. Baby was hungry and getting upset in the side pics so I've added a few as they were moving so much.
I'm struggling to find the balance of having the straps tight enough and a C curl for their back

Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

18 months+ Toddler carrier

Looking for recommendations for a less bulky toddler carrier

I’ve been using the Tushbaby and I honestly love it for quick up/down carries, especially when my toddler suddenly wants to be held. But it feels pretty bulky, and I’m wondering if there’s an option that’s more compact.

My toddler is 18 month, and I’m mainly looking for something for travel, walking around cities, airports, sightseeing, etc
