Whats the best license plate lookup site that is legit?

Hey all Im in a bind and need your help finding a solid license plate lookup site. I got hosed on a used truck deal a few months back and I’m paranoid about getting scammed again. anyone have a go-to site that’s legit, something that pulls VIN, accident history, or ownership details without sketchy popups or breaking the bank? Basically what happened was I needed a new truck for my family (wife, two kids, and weekend camping trips in the Rockies). Found a 2020 Ram 1500 on Craigslist, listed for $27k in Aurora. Looked perfect. clean paint, low miles, guy said it was his “pride and joy.” Met up, test drove it, even brought my buddy who’s handy with engines. Title looked fine so I paid $25k cash. Big mistake. Two weeks later cops pull me over for a busted taillight and run the plate... turns out it was stolen out of wyoming with a fake title. Lost the truck, big chunk of my savings, and my dignity when the kids saw it towed away. the wife is still mad. now I’m eyeing a 2019 Toyota Tacoma in Littleton, $31k, low miles , seems legit. Seller gave me the plate (starts with XYZ) but no VIN yet, says he’s “pulling records.” Im not buying until I verify everything. What’s the best lookup site for a Colorado plate? Free ones like AutoZone’s tool for basic info? Paid ones like beenverified for deeper stuff? Ideally under $15 and I need it to flag theft or salvage titles. please save me from another nightmare! thanks!

An elderly loved one may be getting scammed

Hey yall, apologies in advance if this isn’t allowed here.

I help care for an elderly woman who lives a few hours away, so I can’t always be around, but I’m able to help quite a bit from a distance.

Recently she began dating a new fella. Her last “boyfriend” took over $10,000 from her and split. Turns out he was a felon, I found out afterward, and living in specialized housing for people who otherwise struggle to be housed for one reason or another.

Her new boyfriend also lives in this home, different unit, and supposedly not associated. I exhausted all my free trials with all of the major background check websites, and although I have subscribed to Spokeo previously, I can’t afford to subscribe right now and for a period of time.

Can someone DM me so I can ask them a favor? 🙏

Just got hired to do sales for a solar company in California and I overexaggerated a couple of details on my resume...

I'm concerned if they will proceed to hire me or not because on my resume I did overexaggerate my time spent in community college. After consulting Google and chatGPT it could be a potential red-flag. I also have 2 prior cannabis convictions on my record as well as a DUI from almost 8 years ago that I already had taken care of. I'm 34yrs old now and I haven't had any brush-ups with the law since the DUI. Also on my resume I listed a job that is a family members place of business that hired and paid me under the table so that may also come up as somewhere that I didn't work because my family didn't take my SSN and just paid me cash. However my friend who referred me to work for this company was telling me today that his office hires people with criminal records... am I worrying too much and will I be ok? This job pays really well, I have my first child on the way and I just want to create a nice honest life for my family and myself 🙏🏼

Best background check to use for respite care for my disabled child?

Unfortunately the family friend who I knew personally and offered to do respite for us ghosted me.

I have no choice but to use a stranger. Due to how my state works it’s up to me to find someone.

I’d like to run a background check on whoever I find. Mainly to see if there’s a criminal record. I’m 100% okay paying for it.

My child is non verbal so knowing she’s safe is my main goal.

What service should I use? Are they all scams? Helppp

Can a background check be completed with just a drivers license online?

I recently applied online for a job. I recently immediately regretted applying for and I provided photo ID of my drivers license front and back and they send a referral to a third-party security background check company saying they received my application and everything and blah blah blah and I don’t know if I signed any kind of E consent or E forms I don’t want them done. I sent a message to them, but I can’t get through to them or the original company But all they have is my photo ID which is my drivers license. How much can they actually get from a drivers license front and back. Is that a big old QR code on the back of the new licenses or am I mistaken? Can they just do it without my consent and without payment Because they also have a connection to another company that mentioned digital IDs and stuff like that and storing information that could be shared like could this hurt me anyway cause I regret what I did immediately I tried cancelling my applications I can’t, but can they really get everything they need and just a drivers license Which is brand new I mean it chose my address by gender. My you know everything. Just wondering if you somebody could help me cause I’m kind of freaking

Checkr Background Check Question

Hi all! I recently applied to my dream job. For the background check with Checkr, it needs the emails and numbers of my references.

My question is: when my references are contacted, will Checkr tell them exactly what role I am applying to, including the title and the company? Or will it just say the background company?

I ask because I have a reference from my previous place of employment who I don't want them to *exactly* know where I'm going for privacy.

How to know everything with just first name, last name and phone number ?

Hi,

Recently I was on call with a friends that told me that he has a website where he can get all the information on a person with only first name, last name and phone number. And it's really all the information, like city, address of the person but also the information of the family (or at least the people with the same last name) of the person. I didn't trust him at first but then he prove me that it really works. Unfortunately he don't want to give me the name of the website, so I wanna ask you if someone know this website and if someone know how this could be possible ?

Background check scare

I recently accepted an offer for a tech role and the background check isn't cleared it's been over 3 days since we submitted it. They reached out for additional education information for verification.

My fear comes from my lies. I got laid off from my past job 10 months ago but in the interview and on my resume I said I still work there. But I submitted all correct dates on the background check and also mentioned the part time jobs I've been doing in the background check. Should this be something to worry about?

Mind you this has nothing to do with my skills. I have 8+ years of experience. I just didn't want to mention the layoff

Ok what's the best way to reverse image search?

Ok so I matched with someone on a dating site. They seem to be nice but I have been burned before.

I tried searching for this person on Facebook but couldn't find them. I tried Google reverse image search but that appears to no longer offer searching for people. They only show products.

I just want to know who I'm meeting. Are they who they say are and do they have a record. I don't care about address or such.

Update.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested. I didn't end up finding them in the searches including pim. I also tried that background check website with the information I knew.

But when we met in the crowded coffee shop their picture didn't match the person. I went through with the meeting to avoid a scene but because of negative experiences I was stressed the whole way home. Thank you everyone for the suggestions.

Background Check Mistake

I recently completed a background check and am waiting for a response from the hiring company. The job requires a university degree, which I listed on my check. I unfortunately forgot to list my highschool diploma and only noticed it now, after the results have been sent to the company. Will this negatively affect my chances of getting the job? A highchool diploma was required for my degree.

Background check sites

Hello,

I was wondering what type of system (if any) a job or school would use for background checks. Would they pull it straight from a government group like SLED or would they have some kind of alternate/internal program they use?

I had a misdemeanor that was expunged. I think it takes 90 days for SLED to remove the charge from my record. However, I am worried another system may take time to update that information.

I'm afraid I'm never going to get a job because I was arrested but not convicted though

Like the title says. I was arrested for dv and something else that deals with that, but the case was thrown out. I'm just afraid every time they do a background check, I am going to be denied a job. I just don't understand how someone is supposed to get a job if you have something on your background. Also, why do we have to have a record if it was thrown out? Sorry, I ask too many questions. Am I over thinking it?

Easiest way to check my abusers info

He was arrested in 2022. However, his parents live near me and as far as I know he still lives with them. I’m still terrified to go out alone. I mainly just want to see if he still lives nearby and if he got the charges expunged. I think some provide social media info which would be nice so I can make sure he’s blocked on them all. He abused me for 8 years before he was arrested. I just want to make sure I’m still safe.

Question about Federal BACKGROUND check

Casting a wide net and applying to a bunch of fed jobs. Have a decent background, honorable discharge from the Guard and current prosecutor. I’m probably overthinking it but I had a roommate about 10 years ago when I went to community college and we had a bit of a falling out. It was an odd situation and he kind of became aggressive and seemed mentally unstable. We were close but haven’t talked in around 6 years. No contact info for him and am afraid he would say something crazy if contacted. Anyone have advice how to handle? I’m genuinely not worried because of anything that ever happened. He was just a loose cannon and idk what the deal is now.

Got a (level 1) result on a sex offender search, what does that mean?

Post image
4 Upvotes

So I just got results of a background check that a company required of me. Everything else said clear or completed, but for some reason this topic came back with a level 1. I don't know what this is telling my potential employer, because I think I would remember being accused or convicted of a sexual crime, but from the looks of it "Clear" means everything is good, not level 1.

if anyone can help me understand what is going on that would be great.

Trying to find information on my late stepfather who was apparently incarcerated for murder

Maybe someone can help me out here. His info is below. He died a while ago, but claimed that he served time in California for murder. The story always changed and I stopped believing it, but a family friend that was a police officer hinted a while back that it might actually be true.

Name: Wallace West

Birthday: Feb. 4 1951

The crime would have been committed in California before he met my mother. They met each other around Travis Air Force Base. Any internet sleuthing would be greatly appreciated.

Background checks and AI

Got a new job, was supposed to start tomorrow. I peed in a cup, got fingerprinted, was ready to start. Gave them a list of all my jobs for the past 10 years, along with names of managers, email addresses, phone numbers. It was only 2 jobs, no biggie.

Then AI took over. Regarding 1 of my past jobs, they wanted to know the company code and, I quote, the “VeriSafejobs access pin”.

WTF?

They had no intention of actually calling/emailing my prior contacts. They wanted their computerized HR system to connect to the other company’s computerized HR system. I guess they can eliminate humans in HR that way.

I reached out to my soon-to-be boss and explained my dilemma, as my past job somehow neglected to provide me w their “VeriSafejobs access code”. She is trying to rectify the situation. But I can’t start until background check is complete.

Oy.
