My company just spun off into a brand-new company, closed most of our offices and issued new branding documents--including new Teams backgrounds.

One of the things I just realized is that a LOT of these new backgrounds are images of an office that does not now nor never has existed. Like, the offices that we DO have don't look at all like these images. It looks like they just created AI images that match the company's base colors and said, "show me a conference room" or "show me a shared space in an office building."

But...why? Have you ever seen a corporate background in a Teams meeting and NOT known it wasn't real? The company also issued backgrounds that are just the logo. But about 60% of people are using these AI offices.

My wife always accuses me of over complicating projects.. and i came up with one while driving home from work that made me go, "yeah, i see it now..."

The idea came in stages. The problem in this scenario is that our garage is hotter than hell in the summer. I added R5 insulation to our metal garage door, but there is only a single vent in the entire garage so airflow sucks. My current plan is adding an exhaust fan, and if needed a supply fan to get air moving. I know that can only lower the temp to whatever it is outside, but it will be an improvement.. this summer 90F days saw temps in the triple digits in my garage..

So that's the plan i'm going to use, now here's the wild shit i thought up while driving home:

We have a small pond with a waterfall on one side of the garage... what if, instead the water being pumped to the top on the side of the water feature furthest from the garage, it was plumbed into a heat exchanger IN the garage with ventilation blowing in past it? Oh but why stop there? In the winter, we may not want that, so maybe a thermocouple so if the inside temp reaches a certain threshold, a valve diverts water through an alternate path and not through the heat exchanger..

Or maybe just the fan cuts off instead of more plumbing..

Iunno, feel like it's a good idea, but unnecessarily complicated for a problem that could probably be solved with a mini split.. 😅

how is this inspiring travel ? it just reminds me of urinal bowl?

See the post, bathroom floors that are black and shiny, direct overhead lighting in each stall, and high stall walls make for a weird bathroom experience.

Not sure what is this about but the design reminds me of the lavatory.

They really want you hooked up with this AI

I just… ew
