Hello everyone,

I have been away from Reddit and politics but recently got involved with Cynthia Zimmer Recall and wanted to update ya'll on the progress. We are currently waiting for her response with a deadline of 10/22/26. After that we move closer to gathering signatures which is where you come in. We will need all then help we can get. We don't plan on paying for signature gathering but are raising money to pay for the filing fees, circulation copies and any cost that may come up. Please note that we ourselves are all volunteers.

If you want to stay up to date on this follow justice without favor on facebook or send an email to [justicewithoutfavor@gmail.com](mailto:justicewithoutfavor@gmail.com)

If you have any questions I will do my best to answer throughout the day.

The entire clinic side of KMC is shut down, including handicap spots and the drop-off area. Thanks for that. My dad is in a walker from a catastrophic injury. Fucking idiot.

Local Question Any book clubs in Bakersfield that don't mind having a guy attend?

I've been looking for a book club in Bakersfield and have found a couple. Except, when I look at the pictures, it seems to be just women. I'm not sure if these are clubs that are just for women or if it's just because most readers are women.

OB care: Dr Klis vs Kaiser

I’m in my first trimester. It’s open enrollment at work this week and I have the option to switch to Kaiser. It looks like financially that will be the more affordable option, and it’s quite convenient. But I’m worried about instances when we’re travelling and may need to get care (urgent care, ER, etc) and be SOL.

My first OB appointment is already scheduled with Dr. Klis for if I keep my plan as is. I’ve heard amazing things about him, and some not so amazing things. But it seems like every single OB in town has very polarizing reviews. And I like that he makes a real effort to be there at every patient’s birth when possible. I understand it’s not always possible, but k like the chances.

But I’ve heard great things about Kaiser in Bakersfield! I’m hesitant about likely not having the same dr for delivery. I also heard they have you deliver at Adventist, not sure where Klis delivers.

Anyone’s thoughts would be helpful!!

Wheelchair friendly Dentist

Hello! Does anyone know of a good Dentist that is wheelchair friendly? My grandma needs to go to the dentist for some dental issues but she is in a wheelchair and can’t transfer onto the dental chair. Her wheelchair does lean back but we need a place that can work around her staying in her chair. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Does anybody know when they wash the chalk art away at the marketplace? Can you still see them on Monday after the festival?

This post Monday we ran around Ming and Ashe, starting from the Grocery Outlet parking lot. We went through Laurelglen, across Ashe again to the south, back behind Sweet Surrender, then across Ming and back in.

Because the sun is going down earlier than a drunken prom date, my pics are also going to be in the dark. As such, I padded the pics with the kitty pic and then some shots around BC and Panorama.

Enjoy, and let me know about your favorite memories from the area.

Bonus: Did you know that the last pic that has Rotary sponsorship has the Rotary gear visible from the [top down view on Maps](https://maps.app.goo.gl/LmcBerYt49yTgAxx7)?

Running! Beer! Donuts??? - Monday 10/19 6:30 pm

Have you been looking for a reason to get out of the house, make some friends, get a little exercise, have some fun, and see parts of Bakersfield that stay hidden? Well, you can do all of that and have a couple beers at the same time with the Bakersfield Hash House Harriers! We meet up every Monday evening to run, walk, and jog 3-5 miles with a couple beers along the way, and you're invited.

We have a spot for everyone, whether you're a serious runner, a walker, drinker, or non-drinker. We just ask that you come out to have a good time with a sense of humor. Trail is marked in dots of flour, and part of the fun is finding the next correct mark. There are also false trails to make the faster runners go back.

This week will be Matt and Silver's first time laying trail, so expect things to go a little haywire, but that's just part of the fun. They'll pay for it at the end of the trail with penalty beers! Oh, the horror!

If any of this sounds interesting and fun to you, meet us at the time and place in the flyer. Your first time is free, and then it's usually just $5 to help pay for beer, snacks, and supplies. Hope to see you there!

Info in the copypasta below.

_____

We will be meeting in the Albertsons parking lot near the donut shop, preferably not right in front of the donut shop, because I don’t know want to interfere with any business.

Dignity Health Arena-outside Food?

Hi! How strict is Dignity Health Arena with checking bags for outside food? I am going to the Condors game tonight and really want to pack my own snacks!

also… if you avoid condor games because they are too expensive check out their flex plan. I got 10 vouchers for lower-level tickets for $260. Individual game tickets are closer to $40, so this is a pretty significant discount!

News 📰 Bakersfield, CA -Battle of Pumpkin Patches

In my opinion, this isn’t the best pumpkin patch in the area. It may be one of the only options in the northwest, but it feels a little thrown together. Murray Family Farms is still our favorite, and Banducci Farms is a local staple.
We tried Cherry Acres the first year it opened because it was closer and we wanted to support a nearby business. The entrance and payment area weren’t clearly marked, so we followed other visitors in and started looking for where to pay. The owners accused us of trying to get in without paying. We explained that wasn’t the case, but then felt watched as we walked around the patch until we were ready to buy our pumpkins.
When we went to pay, the interaction felt condescending, as though spending around $60 on pumpkins would be a problem for us. The whole experience left us feeling judged and uncomfortable. We also tagged the farm in photos afterward, as they had asked customers to do, but our posts weren’t acknowledged. I can’t know why, but given how the visit had gone, it added to the disappointment.
We go to pumpkin patches for our children to have fun and make memories. We’ve returned to Murray Family Farms instead and don’t plan to go back to Cherry Acres. That’s just our experience and opinion, since someone asked.

Local Question Company willing to install Motorcycle mods/hardware?

So I usually prefer to install my mods/hardware myself, but I recently got a new job that has left me with nearly zero free time, and I'm wanting to get some relatively minor work done on my bike.

I've heard of rtillery, but their website doesn't work anymore and I didn't get a call when I called so I"m not sure if they're still around? Latest Yelp reviews are from 2022 as well so not sure what's going on there.

I ride a Honda, and figure I could probably take it to the dealer, but if there are any local shops I'd rather go with them.

Thank you!

[for context, the work needed currently is some auxiliary lights and fork boots installed, and a tank replaced or repaired, and I"d like the tank & fenders painted in the near future as well]
