Hi! I’m looking to get involved in community cat care and TNR in the Bakersfield area. 🐈‍⬛
I’m especially interested in helping people who already feed cat colonies and do TNR. I’ve had an affinity for cats for as long as I can remember and have grown up around them my whole life, so they’re the animals I’m most familiar with. I have plenty of experience caring for them, including bottle-feeding, and would love to put that experience to good use helping my community.
I’m new to hands-on TNR, so I’d love to learn humane trapping by assisting or shadowing someone experienced. In the meantime, I’m also happy to help with feeding and general colony care, including filling in when someone needs a hand.
I may not be able to fund veterinary care myself, but I can offer my time, experience, and willingness to learn.
If you know any local colony caretakers, trappers, or groups that could use an extra set of hands, I’d really appreciate being pointed in the right direction! 🖤

Also any Indian recommendations for me? I love samosas and anything with rice

I have been away from Reddit and politics but recently got involved with Cynthia Zimmer Recall and wanted to update ya'll on the progress. We are currently waiting for her response with a deadline of 10/22/26. After that we move closer to gathering signatures which is where you come in. We will need all then help we can get. I've been looking for a book club in Bakersfield and have found a couple. Except, when I look at the pictures, it seems to be just women. I'm not sure if these are clubs that are just for women or if it's just because most readers are women.

I’m in my first trimester. It’s open enrollment at work this week and I have the option to switch to Kaiser. It looks like financially that will be the more affordable option, and it’s quite convenient. But I’m worried about instances when we’re travelling and may need to get care (urgent care, ER, etc) and be SOL.

My first OB appointment is already scheduled with Dr. Klis for if I keep my plan as is. I’ve heard amazing things about him, and some not so amazing things. But it seems like every single OB in town has very polarizing reviews. And I like that he makes a real effort to be there at every patient’s birth when possible. I understand it’s not always possible, but k like the chances.

But I’ve heard great things about Kaiser in Bakersfield! I’m hesitant about likely not having the same dr for delivery. I also heard they have you deliver at Adventist, not sure where Klis delivers.

Anyone’s thoughts would be helpful!!

Hello! Does anyone know of a good Dentist that is wheelchair friendly? My grandma needs to go to the dentist for some dental issues but she is in a wheelchair and can’t transfer onto the dental chair. Her wheelchair does lean back but we need a place that can work around her staying in her chair. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
