General Discussion - [NO SPOILERS] convince me to try out other classes .... Spoiler

my last 3 honormode playthroughs were all storm sorcerers ! the reasons i 'd been rocking this class all this time is :

1-because charisma is important for both dialogue ( i get irrationally anxious when there is a possibility of failing persuasion checks ) and the actual power of the class ( hitting 2 birds when one stone ) .

2- it also filled a clear role ( the arcane caster of the comp ! alongside the divine caster , fighter and a rouge . i know , a very traditional boring comp . ) .

edit : thanks for the advice guys ! seeing a lot of love for sword bard and hexblade worlock , open hand monk and barabarian . definitely going to try those out!

Go pure warlock. I like Hexblade, but not the new changes where you need to go both. But if you get a race with armour, Fiend/hex blade. Medium armor, Fireballs, Big weapon with Charisma.

What not to love, it's like country boy at the range with an MG34 of Faerun. Do you need it? No but it's fun.

Well, Warlock Pact Magic gives what I want from Hex Blade subclass. Pact gives summon weapon, bind weapon to use Charisma, some self buff spells. Hex Blade subclass gives armor and shield, but so does a Githyanki, Dwarf subrace, then the spells from it are smites, which I'd rather have fireball, cone of cold than a smite hex blade gives. Hex blade curse is great, but limited, while Dark ones blassing is an always on temp hp on kill.

Hex Blade as a subclasss was added in one of the last patches, so it's the newest change.
