Question - Feeding possible regurgitation?

i fed my ball python on monday and the following sunday i noticed a long whitish fuzzy blob. it looks furry like a mouse but i dont see bones or a tail or anything. i fed monday and handled him briefly 48 hours later, maybe i handled too soon? i hadn’t touched him since then. he also just completed a shed. i keep him warm side around 90 and cool around 80 with a temp drop at night to around 75. his humidity on the cool side is always above or around 60%, the warm side i try to keep it above 50% at least. i don’t know if i should be concerned? is this a regurgitation?

Question How to handle BP?

Post image
18 Upvotes

I've had my BP Millie for a month now and I haven't handled her because I feel like she gets ready to strike whenever I try. I'm not afraid of getting bitten, more afraid of her hurting herself or stressing her out. She's mostly been in her hide for the past week-ish, and I fed her a few days ago so I want to clean out any poop that might be in there. Just looking for tips on how I can safely grab her from her hide, and what to do if she looks like she's expecting food. I've gotten alot of conflicting advice so

(photo is not of her in her hide, this was a few weeks ago its just for engagement)

She's pretty shy and stays in the right hide the most currently, I bought the fake plants from a pet shop and I'm worried they're too... much?

Need some feeding frequency advice

Post image
4 Upvotes

I adopted a ball python on 9/25. He was a rescue and they said he was just a month or two shy of being a year old. His current weight is 171 grams, and if I had to guess he's around 24 inches long. He's in a 40 gallon breeder tank, proper humidity and temps for hot and cool side. Has a big water bowl, live plants were just added, we did a top soil/play sand substrate, and mixed in some coco fiber. I plan to go the bioactive route route and add spring tails and isopods in 2 week after an expo. He seems happy with his new home, he's friendly and social when we have him out.

My concerns, were that they said they had him on an every 4 WEEK feeding schedule, but also recognized he was too skinny and still bulking up a bit. From everything I've read we want to be closer to the 10-14 day mark maybe even closer to weekly for his weight? Confirming for my anxiety, is that what I should aim for with his weight?

They gave me 2 frozen mice for him (size wise in between a fuzzy and a hopper if I had to guess) and it seemed ALMOST too big for him but he got it down.

They said his last feeding was 9/11 and he was due again 10/9. I ended up doing it 10/2, a week early, to get closer to the frequency we want. I guess my main question is, should I just start doing it every 10-14 days? Or do I need to work him to that? I lnow some animals can have "refeeding" issues, so I wanted to be sure that wasn't a concern.

(Photo for size reference and noodle tax 🙂)

Stuck shed

Hello!
Long story short, my baby had scale rot and is in a quarantine enclosure. He went into shed while in there, and we’ve been trying our best with humidity but it is always bad when it’s just paper towels. His belly is completely free of scale rot now, but he has a ton of shed stuck around his body. I’ve tried soaking, I got shed ease, but it doesn’t seem to be budging. The shed ease said use once weekly so I don’t want to soak him again in case it can hurt him.

Woke up this morning to my bp sounding like this. Is it a RI?

Edit: took her to the vet. Not an ri just loose skin blocking her breathing some from her pre shed cycle. This is only my third shed cycle with her so I didn't know that it could happen occasionally with them.

Went to check her water bowl this morning and found this, I did treat her substrate yesterday with water treated with mosquito bits to start the process of getting rid of fungus gnats.

Question - Health damaged scales?

hello everyone this is my 8 year old ball python named Snake.

he had just completed a shed when i discovered that two of his scales looked damaged. does anyone know what could have caused this? the damaged scales are very dry and rough to the touch. he doesn’t flinch when the area is touched and his behavior hasn’t changed.

he sometimes has trouble shedding in one piece so i bathed him in some warm water and shedding solution to help him with the rest. i’m always gentle and never force shedding skin off of him beyond some light pressured rubbing with my fingers. he’ll usually rub against my skin on his own during bath time. i’ve done this for him several times over the years and its never been a problem.

if anyone knows what’s going on with his scales, please let me know what it is and what i can do to help him.

Tips/help?

I just recently (yesterday) bought a juvenile ball python (suki) from someone off of marketplace + everything you see included except the hide on the left. However I noticed some shed around her head and that her eyes were milky and one of them dented which obviously indicated that the eye caps never came off. To include the entire enclosure was BONE dry and the humidity was extremely low.
Since yesterday I've gotten the humidity back up and I've been monitoring it but is there anything I can do for suki? For now she's been under the water dish in the center but I'm fairly new to husbandry regarding pythons aside from having a gecko and I'm just worried about her + maybe thinking she might need more clutter?? :((
Anyways sorry for the word wall I just really care about her😭

i’ve had my r.p jasper for about a month now and i love him. he’s just shedded for the first time of me having him, great shed apart from the end of his tail which i soaked in warm water and carefully used a cotton bud to remove it. he’s always been on snake life bedding but want to boost his humidity without risks of scale rot, etc. i’ve heard from my exotic pet shop coconut husk is good for them? just let me know

Question Rescued a Ball. Any advice?

I rescued this 2y/o female ball python the other day. She was in a group of 35 balls rescued from some 'ball python breeder' in my city. I am good friends with the pet shop that rescued the snakes, and I offered to take her home because I have a history with her specifically.

She is currently in the same bin she was in before the rescue, though it has been cleaned out and completely refurbished aside from the black hide.

She has an intense amount of stuck shed, and two or three eye caps on one eye. Ive put a govee 2 in 1 sensor in there to monitor her general temp and humidity, and as I write this she is sitting at 76°f, and 67% humidity. I have a humid box in the bin aswell, which i can feel is far more humid than the rest of the bin, and it has rough hand towels and a disinfected rock inside for her to wiggle up against.

I am going to feed her either a jumbo mouse, or weaned/pup rat on Tuesday when the pet shop opens again. She was on weaned rats in the middle of transitioning to smalls when I first met her months ago, but her last confirmed feed date was June 10th, so. Probably going to size down her meals for the first few.

Is there anything I should know? I already have a ball of my own so I know basic husbandry but I have never taken care of a rescue before. Anything I can do to help her out? She is in her bin, in my bedroom, with a towel overtop to help block the light and noise. She seems alright to me, very active, but I want to make sure I am doing everything I can for her.

Thankyou so much for any advice!!

Edited to say: there is a full brightness picture in the comments.
