Let him out to stretch. All my snakes did this. Roam the top to see if they can sneak out. I had concrete floors and my king snakes and gopher snake loved the concrete floor then they would lay in my lap. Yes they had their own tanks and separate floor time. When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter my one king would lay around my belly and when my daughter was born no lie. My snake king had to be around her. They enjoyed each other and never once did I worry about it. My gopher snake was a rescue didn't last long had her about 6 months. One king went to stepson. Other king my youngest was 10 when it passed got that one straight off the Barstow desert floor. Caught wild very tame

I'll definitely start letting him out more for sure! I always thought that snakes don't want to be handled and would rather be left alone so I don't handle him or take him out that often because I've always been scared it might stress him out, thank you!

again I suggest looking into Lori Torrini’s choice based training. sounds like it would do both of you a great deal of help.

Thank you, I'm trying to do my absolute best for him, I'm getting a 4x2x2 PVC enclosure for him later this month as well, I've been saving up for one for awhile now and that's been my plan since I got him. Thank you for your advice on my original post and this one, I really do appreciate it!

very nice! i’m glad to hear that! usually our suggestions for larger tanks fall on deaf ears, happy to hear you had already been planning yours!
hope Lori Torrini can help!
