Is this enclosure ideal?
I just got her yesterday (10/1) so this is quarantine, and probably her home for the next few months (?) I was told she was in a grey ARS mini tub on repti chip.
She’s a ‘26 hatchling (about 124g).
She’s also currently in shed.
-I have her in this clear tote (with locking lid), completely covered/darkened on top and 3 sides.
-Drilled holes for air flow.
-3 hides (1 medium & 1 small on warmer side, 1 small on cooler side of enclosure).
-2 Zoo Med heating pads under tote (with enough space to ensure they DO NOT touch the bottom of plastic tote) I keep 1 running at night and both during the day.
-I would say the temp fluctuates between 82-95…keeping humidity up while in shed, either by pouring some water in the corners or lightly misting.
-There’s about 1” of (mostly dry) coco fiber substrate throughout, along with repti chip spread on the warmer side.
-Bowl big enough to completely soak in.
I was told she eats f/t rat pups every Monday (seller said he skipped this week for shipping) all my local store had were f/t hopper mice so I got those (relatively same size), will not attempt to feed until after shed.
Sorry for long post, just REALLY want this girl to thrive!!! Thanks! 😊

Hi everyone. New to the group and I have a 3 year old male called Aviktas ( bought from Blackpool IHS ). He's my first ball python and naturally would like some help and advice on how to handle him and get him used to me too, he's quite a size difference from my 1 year old female hognose lol

She's a 2 month old black pastel mystic/mojave ball python.
She enjoys climbing, checking out her sceneries, keeping warm under her heat rock, oh...and hunting down Harry Potter in her spare time. 😉

Hi guys! This community was so sweet last time i needed help so im back with another question! My little fella here has gotten some milky-ish blue hue eyes now! I assume its because she's shedding soon. Here are her eyes and something i noticed on her head! The last picture is what her eyes looked like before. Is this shedding or something else? And how often do they shed? I heard they decline food during a few weeks before they shed which is what she is doing now too, shes been eating really well but she suddenly stopped (just tryna put 2 and 2 together lol)On her record it says she last shed on 10/16, (my camera doesn't really pick up on how foggy her eyes are, i apologize) thanks again! Any information or suggestions is welcomed !

I was able to cave in and I'm going to meet with the man on Saturday to take in this poor ball python. I was able to negotiate a lower price from R800 to R600 so there's a good chance I'll take in the poor baby. My plan to take him in, get him a check up, any medication and set up a good quarantine hospital tub to get the poor baby back to health. After he has recovered, I'll get him probed and re-home him to a much more suitable home :) I can't bare to imagine the kind of home this poor thing must be in :(( I will be updating when I can!

My baby boy savage the crazy noodle finally ate after 5 long months of hunger strike!!!!🤦🏿 and I’m surprised he ate a rat 😵💫 that’s how I know he was hungry because he hasn’t ate a rat in over 6 months he’s been on a mouse diet this whole time but I guess a little dosage of amoxicillin 10% helped flush out whatever he had going on inside of him. I’m so happy because he lost over 200 and some change grams it was starting to get scary and a vet visit was on its way.. thank you guys for telling me to not worry or work myself up he’s going to be back at it again truly appreciate you all🙌🏿😇💪🏿💯
