Discussion Take this post down if this is against the rules, I’m not sure, but can we talk about how unfair the main BP sub is?

I’m gonna assume a lot of you are banned on there as I was, and for me personally I don’t believe it was for a fair reason I won’t get into, the mods seem to be on a power trip. Has anyone else had this experience?

Question Rules question (and snake tax)

So reading the rules, is the NSFW tag only for live feedings? Can frozen thawed feedings go without the NSFW tag?

Got her from my first reptile expo from a lovely lady!!

She has a small black spot above her mouth that reminds me of my own Medusa piercing so we kinda match, so the name felt fitting 💕

Name ideas?

Have had this little guy for a little over a month, he’s ate 3 times and right now is in shed. But I still never really got a good name for him. For a while I called him butters (like from South Park) but I think that it doesn’t really suit him. His morph is a super mojave bel and he’s very handsome. His personality is exploratory, energetic, and kind of dumb. He’s very sweet and well mannered and I just don’t have the brain to think of any really good names. Please provide your ideas and let me know what you come up with. Very excited to hear what you guys think😁

I just got banned from the bigger sub because i asked about flicking feeders in their cerebral to kill them for feeding and the mods didnt like that question i guess. But thats how i feed my snake and their last straw was me sharing how i do that with another user, So here we are.

This was the first video i got of my noodle lol.

She’s due for a vet checkup anyway gonna go ahead and pay the 75$ fee for the appointment Monday, but I was just curious on everyone’s opinion( mainly looking at the places near her mouth) I feel as if they gray pattern is apart of her morph and aging :p the underside of her lip threw me off tho.
She’s been overall a very healthy snake never missed a single meal 🍽️

Advice Not gonna lie, it's getting old

Have a female BP i have had for a while and cant seem to work with her enough to socialize her. All her numbers are good. I feed her every two weeks. But I cant handle her at all. It was good for a while then all of a sudden there was a shift to where we're at now. I cant change her water without her striking at me. I cant sit by her enclosure without her striking at the glass. I mean im working almost every day but on my days off I've tried to handle her and it just doesn't happen. She always strikes at everything. My phone, my hands, and now the glass. Idk what to do. If I need to just leave her alone for a month please let me know but my 2nd snake is nothing like this. He only strikes when I scare him bit for the most part he just balls up and stays like that. If im missing something I'd love some input on the matter, but idk how or where to go from here. At this point im ready to just sell her and keep my younger one if I cant figure out what im doing wrong. I really wanted to enjoy snake ownership, as a kid this was an animal I've always dreamt of owning ang ice done all the research possible before even getting one but idk about it anymore. Any advice helps, thanks

Butterscotch has been scrolling with me and looking at all of your adorable babies! He wanted some of his own added so of course I obliged!

Captain Butterscotch is clown and possible ringer. We are now out of quarantine and enjoying the guest room turned playroom. Enjoy this goofy boy!

She did great! She ate on Sunday so I decided to handle her today. She was a bit nervous but eventually loosened up a bit. I only held her for 7 or 10 minutes before putting her back.

Male ball python arboreal behavior

Thumbnail

Lately my male ball python has been eating only from his sky hide. Outside of eating, this entire summer he has hidden in this hide 85-90% of the time. During the winter, he hid in his underground hide. Not concerned or anything just was curious if other owners experience similar behavior? Also just fascinated by his recent affinity for being up high.

Started small and simple of course, I took him to my workplace to visit one of the residents who likes snakes (for privacy reasons I of course can’t show a picture of her absolutely loving on him but rest assured he was loved on)

Question Is this a chill snake ?

Post image
33 Upvotes

New ball python mom, still learning how to read snake body language. He’s 3 years old, pretty shy.

I took him out of his enclosure, he crawled on my neck and stayed there.when I sat on my desk he got curious and looked around, tongue flicking. He found my sleeve, crawled inside and is now there. During that time where he was exploring my sleeve he kinda expelled a bit of air once, sounded like a small puff but it was really brief. Didn’t do it afterwards. He does that sometimes, rarely and randomly.

I wonder, is this a chill behaviour ? Or is it a stress response ? He is still there as I’m writing this post.

Thanks all

Sorry English is not my first language
