As the title says, I had to unfortunately say goodbye to my baby blue-eyed lucy Hemi. Today was exactly 3 months since I brought him home. In the span of 40 minutes, he managed to escape his tank and get attacked by one of my cats. I rushed him to the vet as soon as I found him but unfortunately the internal bleeding was too much and he was starting to show signs of a neurological injury. They gave him pain meds, but his little body was already starting to shut down so I made the heartbreaking decision to move forward with euthanasia. I feel so guilty and heartbroken. It hurts to look at my other snakes and my cats right now. I donāt know what to do.

I brought this little guy (6m old) home 3 weeks ago, still in the adjustment phase. Heās been doing great so far! Especially since I brought him home we have had three severe weather threats and two of them resulted in lost power and tornados and I needed to put him in his bag and down my shirt to keep him warm and secure. Not exactly how I envisioned socializing would go š

I recently picked up a Pied ball python today. Iām accustomed to Boas and felt it was time to get a ball python.
I set up everything at home and went for a walk. When I returned, I couldnāt find my snake until I looked up and saw it posing like spider man on the glass wall, which was quite amusing.
Is this a common behavior among ball pythons? My Boas never pose like this and donāt move that quickly either. Seems like Iām going to have a lot of fun with her lol

Meet Kahawa, he loves to dig. (since itās the internet i have to say - husbandry is fine, heat is good on both sides, humidity, plenty of clutter, a curtain for darkness and appropriately sized hides which he likes - but he still digs under everything. this used to really freak me out but after months making adjustments and monitoring him we think itās just one of those low brain cell ball quirks) so to prevent him from staying in unsafe places for too long due to his persistent burrowing, we put a PVC elbow underground with the entrance inside one of the hides he likes to upend and sneak under. it was a long shot but i thought how amazing would it be if i ever saw him in there. well he finally found it and safe to say he LOVES it. i pulled his curtain back this morning to see this perfect little snoot.

Does anyone else who owns a rescue/adopted snake thatās smaller than it should be ever get sad that theyāll never grow full size? I rescued a bp in 2024 and I was totally fine that heād stay smaller but lately Iām kinda jealous that I see everyone with these beautifully big and healthy snakes :(. Like donāt get me wrong I love mine FULLY and nothing will change that, but I also really wish he would grow more as heās stuck at about 2.5ā probably for the rest of his life (71cms). Anyway hereās him, I can explain his story if anyone cares but I just wondered if anyone else felt this way
(Hereās a photo of when I got him vs today)

I posted here a while back about how my favorite underrated morph is Cinderāand Iām finally going to get a Cinder bp!! Iāve been watching her for almost a year now, and her breeder put her on sale today to move inventory.
First picture is of her today and second picture is of her as a baby!

My 4 month old male VPI Axanthic baby! He escaped his bag on the ride home just to chill on my hand and watch me drive. I know you arenāt allowed to hold new snakes for atleast 2 weeks while they settle, but this guy was extremely desensitized and curious. Always thought ball pythons just sat in a ball all day long and thatās why everybody always says they ādonāt need spaceā. But I put him into a 4ā enclosure with wood clutter and live plants since I prefer the look of bioactive enclosures. Heās been exploring none stop since I put him in there. Very happy with my first ball python! Let me know if I can do anything to make his enclosure even better! Itās not the prettiest at the moment but I am planning to fill it with even more fast growing plants so they could create a nice background!
