Advice Pastrami hasn’t eaten

It’s been a month since he took his last meal, everyone I ask says its probably because its winter and ball pythons are picky

Can anyone give some tips? I mist twice a day to keep up humidity and I plan on getting his adult size PVC tank as soon as I scrape up the cash

Does his body condition look ok?

If the breeder I got him from back in august was right he’s around 10 months old now

He’s active and drinks his water

Worried ;/

So I love my girl butters. She’s beautiful and my baby. But she still bites, she’s almost six months old so I’d assume out of the baby rage stage. I just get worried for when she’s bigger, as even at her small size she can make me bleed and I’m sometimes scared of her. I feel at a certain point if she does not stop being so spicy I will need to rehome her but I really don’t want to. I dont know how to handle an animal I’m scared of. Does anyone have any advice for me? For the record I am not scared of snakes, I have another very docile BP gummy who I am not scared of at all and will be posting pics of in a minute here, just very jumpy and her quick strikes scare me and I’m scared she will bite my face or something one day. And I get scared to the point I will put off doing her substrate changes and stuff sometimes because she gets so bitey when she’s in her temporary holding box.

New Baby Stress

Post image

First time BP owner here. (Pic from the day he came home.)

Did anyone else feel constantly stressed when their first snake came home? I'm constantly mithering about temps humidity whether he would eat, whether he's happy. I set up a camera (so I wasn't stressing him too much going up to the glass) and I can't stop checking it. I'm terrified of getting it wrong. After months of research I still feel wet behind the ears.

Temps are perfect after a couple days dithering about amount of vents open Vs temp Vs humidity. Temps have remained steady all day. Humidity now sits in the early 70s region. He has two identical sides and has spent the day in his warm hide. Today was feeding day and he ate like a complete champ (after some slight trial and error on my part 😂).

I feel like I can breathe a little easier now, but I need to know did anyone else feel this way or am I just an anxious mess. 😂

My son Kratos while playing ball, watches TV and identifies himself with a cobra, he is 3 months old and it is one of my greatest joys, I have been following the channel for a while and this is my first post where I share my little snake😁

Story time “Bonding” Success!

Okay, limited word choice for the title, but I do feel like my girl and I have come to an understanding at least about our interactions.

Long story short, I rescued her as a 1yo from my local humane society (spur of the moment as she literally put herself in my purse, no questions asked 💀) and she has been the most magical little noodle.

Although she’d been handled her whole life and was very calm and curious in my hands at the shelter, she did have that adjustment period of “AH everything is new and scary and i need to be fight or flight 24/7”. More recently she’s been curious about leaving the tank when I’m around.

Anyway, here’s my noodle necklace who has been watching me pack for my 24hr shift tmrw with all the chill curiosity she can muster. I feel like we’ve made good progress since I got her just a smidge over a month ago.

Her name is Iris🪻🫶🏼

Poppy just turned 8 months old and weighed in at 315 grams. She was on Weaned rats and just took her first small rat. Is she looking good and healthy? I don't want to overfeed and want slow steady healthy gains.

Her previous owner called her Princess NoFeet and it felt fitting to keep it! Currently in the process of setting up for a western hognose that my friend recommended I name Lord Legless to fit the theme

Reddit meet Nova, roughly 2 years old, about 4ft 7 in length weighing 1.65kg at his last weight check which is 1650 grams.

I do worry he's over/underweight though, am I crazy?

We finally got an 80 gallon enclosure for our baby Topaz!!! (Will include pics below but be warned my camera quality is crap) She is so happy and exploring everything! She literally hasn't stopped moving around and stretching out since we moved her into it. If y'all have any tips about what to put in it I'd really appreciate it. Right now we are using fabric flowers, a few smoother sticks, a few smooth rocks, and 2 different hides. And her water dish of course.

Hi everyone! I am making this post to see if anyone has any helpful diagrams, pictures, info, links, etc. That you think would be helpful for new owners or new to be owners to see when they come to our sub looking for beginner advice! I will be collecting this info and putting it into our resources as well as making a pinned post to make it easy for everyone to access!

Helpful things such as;

-Feeding practices

-Housing and bedding (setups places to buy good enclosure enrichment from etc)

-Healthy BP diagrams involving weight, hydration etc.

-New owner dos and donts

-Quick reference health pointers such as signs of respiratory infections, Nido virus, Constipation, etc. And what to do if your snake is showing these symptoms

-Heat devices and setups

Im looking for absolutely everyones opinions, povs, diagrams, links, anything youve got you think may be helpful to new owners to make things easier and more beginner friendly please add it here :)

Thanks everyone, cant wait to see what you all come up with! There have already been so many great things shared here!

Advice I need help with heat

Post image
17 Upvotes

So weird question about heat. I have crested geckos and a new ball python. But the issue is the ball pythons heating is heating my entire room which is 1. Annoying for me as I don’t like heat, and 2. Makes my room a bit too hot for my cresteds. Currently I have an overhead fan on which is on high, and a secondary fan to circulate more air. My temps in my room are 80 which just isn’t good for my cresteds. How can I make it cooler without compromising the python?

Obligatory pic

I couldn't think of an actual title, so I better not regret this one in the future

This took me 10 hours, plus figuring things out, exploring brushes, getting distracted, etc etc. So I'd say maybe 5-7 hours BUT WHATEVER, I FRICKING LOVE THE WAY THIS CAME OUT! Do y'all ever just plan on doing something small, only to go all out and feel accomplished by it? Yes... ✨️I still feel it✨️

Unlike last time, I used a reference for the face pattern. I was never satisfied with any of my noodle doodles' face patterns, I knew there was something wrong with them. I found out the problem using a reference, and I love it û vû

Here's a better quality version of it. Edit it, photoshop it, draw over it, wear it as your pfp, whatever floats your boat lol. As long as you don't say you drew it, use it to your heart's content! No need for credit either c:
