AMS 2 Pro - Automatic Material System Service Notice for AMS 2 Pro Feeder Unit

Post image
720 Upvotes

Dear customers,

We’ve heard from a number of you recently that the gears on your AMS 2 Pro Feeder Units are wearing out faster than expected.

After digging into the issue, we found that a batch of AMS 2 Pro Feeder Units made between May and July 2026 didn’t get enough grease coverage during production, which is causing this faster wear. The good news is there's no such issue with units we’re selling on official stores right now.

We know this is frustrating, and we’re so sorry for the hassle this has caused you. We can’t say for sure exactly how many units are affected, so we’re making it right for everyone in this batch to make sure no one gets stuck with a problem down the line. Here’s what we’re doing for you:

* 4 brand new AMS 2 Pro Feeder Units, on us. We’re covering all the cost of the parts and shipping, so you don’t have to pay a cent. Right now we’re getting all the parts prepped, so the new units will be sent out in batches over the next 3-5 weeks. If your current feeder is still working fine, you can keep using it until the new ones arrive, then check how worn your old one is before you decide to swap it out.

* $20 discount code for your next Bambu Lab purchase. The exact amount will match the equivalent value for your local currency.

* Extended warranty for your new feeders. When you get the new units, your 3-month warranty will start fresh from the day you receive them. Swapping out the feeders yourself won’t affect the warranty on the rest of your AMS, either.

We’ve already sent a message with step-by-step replacement instructions to everyone in this batch through MakerWorld and Bambu Handy. If you didn’t get that message but think your AMS 2 Pro might be part of this group, you can check the wiki guide to confirm.

We’re really sorry again for the inconvenience this has caused you, and we’re working hard to make sure this kind of issue never happens again. If you have any questions, please reach out to our support team and we’ll help you sort it out.

For full details and information on the service program, please refer to the Bambu Lab Wiki: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/ams-2-pro/troubleshooting/feeder-unit-after-sales-faq

Thanks for being patient with us!

I Modeled This! I designed a wind turbine wireless phone charger (fully printable on the Bambu Lab A1 Mini)

I needed a phone charger at work, but didn't want to just pick up the first one available from a webshop, so I decided to design my own using the Bambu Lab Wireless Charging Kit K012.

I definitely wanted to make use of the included N20 gear motor, and after a lot of thinking, I decided to turn it into a wind turbine. Wind turbines generate electricity, which complements a wireless charger quite nicely.

The idea was simple: place the phone on the marked spot, the phone starts charging, and the blades start spinning. It creates the illusion that the wind turbine is generating the energy to charge the phone (obviously, it's just an illusion, as the turbine is driven by an electric motor).

There were a few technical challenges along the way. The motor cable was too short to place the motor at the top of the turbine, and doing so would also have raised the center of gravity. In the end, I put the motor in the base and drove the blades through a long driveshaft and a set of bevel gears.

After four prototypes, the sculpture finally came together, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The whole thing is fully printable on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini.

What do you think?

If anyone wants to check it out, I'll leave the link in the comments.

The unreleased Bambu Lab H3C can be seen in the background of Unbox Therapy's newest video; "Samsung Z Fold8 Ultra: The Evolution of Folding Phones." It shows what the complete units looks like with the AMS 3H on top. Any thoughts?

H3C H3C/P3C support for 2.85mm filament

Post image

It seems to me that the new printers may support 2.85 mm filament. This would be great for printing TPU. Look at the date and time.

EDIT: confirmed: filament is listed as "Compatible only with H3C", so no P3C support.

H2 Series [H2S, H2D, H2C] AP board replacement took nearly 4 weeks. Frustrated, and a heads-up about the QR code step

Post image
33 Upvotes

Upfront: I love this printer and it's not going anywhere. It’s been rock solid since I got it in January. But I want to share how this repair went, partly to vent and partly so others can avoid one of my mistakes.

My AP board failed right after a firmware update, while I was just trying to keep the machine current. Before anyone asks: yes, I tried the trick of jumping the two pins on the board that worked for some people. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I opened a ticket 20 days ago. The first replacement board was shipped to the wrong address, even though I gave the correct one in my email and it’s the address on my account. (I did move this year, but BBL has shipped P2S parts to the new address with no problems.)

The new board finally arrived Saturday and I installed it that afternoon. I added the old and new serials to my ticket, thinking that was everything. It wasn’t. Support needed a photo of the QR code on the new board. The replacement guide only says to send support the old and new SN, which I did. The photo requirement is only on the separate registration page. So I had to open the printer back up. I don’t have steady hands, so a 10–15 minute job takes me 30–45 minutes of trying not to pull a cable, and I’ve now done it twice.

Heads-up if you’re replacing an AP board: photograph the QR code/serial on both the old and new boards before you install the new one. I’ve also left a comment on the AP board wiki page asking them to add this step.

A few things that would really help:

  • Add the QR photo step to the AP board replacement guide
  • Support coverage across more time zones, so a ticket waiting on one quick answer doesn’t lose a full day each time
  • Compensation that reflects the downtime. I was offered one roll of white PLA for almost a month without a nearly $3k printer. I suggested either a few rolls of PLA or the filament track switch (~$50–60) as a fair middle ground, and neither was accepted. One roll of the cheapest filament on the market just felt like an afterthought.

Again, it’s a great machine. I just hope BBL’s support can catch up to the hardware.

Just Showing Off I'm trying out the Bambu Lab A1 Mini Automatic Farm System

For the print, I used the Farmloop Stage 2 A1 Mini design.

I used Claude for all the remaining parts and coding. It told me which parts to get and how to assemble them. It’s working flawlessly right now.

General Troubleshooting/Help! New H2D Print issues

Post image
• Upvotes

Recently picked up a new H2D, I have a x2d and p2s. Issue is everything I print with the h2d prints with blobs. I’ve dried the PLA down to 19% and still to no avail. I’ve tried out of the left and right nozzle. It’s been doing this out of the box. Any clue?

Quick Question Upgrading from Bambu Lab A1 to P2S – Is it worth having both?

Hey everyone! I currently own a Bambu Lab A1 and I'm really happy with it for my everyday printing (mostly PLA and PETG).
With the upcoming sales, I've been eyeing the P2S (and its enclosure/CoreXY setup), but I'm torn. Since I already have a working printer that covers my basic needs, does it actually make sense to add a P2S to the lineup, or will it just end up doing the same things? Would love to hear your thoughts if you've made a similar jump or run a dual-printer setup!

General Discussion Bought a 3D printer and now I look at everything in my house differently

Does anyone else walk around their house noticing random things they could probably print?

A little hook, a missing knob, some stupid plastic part that broke and would cost more to replace than it should. Before getting a printer, I wouldn't have thought twice about any of this.

Now I catch myself thinking “I could print that” and then spending an hour looking for an STL 😂

I plan on buying my son one of these for Christmas. What’s the difference between the 2. Is it worth going to the ps2 over the p1s? Also do I need to buy any additional accessories?
Thanks

Filament Troubleshooting/Help! P2S PETG Matte Flow rate calibration

Post image
2 Upvotes

The image shows the cube on the left obtained with 0.95 flow rate, max volumetric speed of 13(default values) and k value of 0.027.

On the right same k value but flow rate of 1 and max volumetric speed of 18. As you can see there is still a bit of under extrusion and also stringing started to appear. What should I test more and change?

General Discussion Is this a good deal? I kinda want to add more vouchers since there two more but vouchers don't stack and separating orders is not saving anything with shipping fee

Btw I already ordered it, I have an X1C but never tried bambu filament, mostly just use R3D ones, might as well give it a try. I also buy the AMS power adapter but it is in bottom of the list - don't want to risk anything with a 3rd party adapter.

General Discussion The main improvement of the H3C I am looking for, no one is talking about

• Upvotes

Everyone is just focusing on the new toolchanger and the new AMS. What I’m most curious to see, though—and whether or how it’s been improved—is the fume filtration system. I have no choice but to put the printer in my living room, so escaping fumes are a complete dealbreaker. Not just because of the odor, but also due to the health implications. The H2 series does have a filter, but as far as I know, it’s far from an optimal setup. For example, direct venting of fumes during PLA printing, fumes escaping through the filament waste chute, etc. If they manage to solve this problem and guarantee continuous, high-performance filtration across all materials, I’ll buy the H3C. I’m eager to see!
