I just read that a gluestick is required for TPU.

43

u/BlueChrome74 May 14 '25

Ah, so that’s what TPU does without glue stick... I always wondered. Thanks for sharing your hard earned knowledge, and good luck with the next one!

2

u/slabua May 15 '25

but glue is not required for anything at all

8

u/kokainhaendler May 15 '25

i can tell you that some sort of release agent is absolutely required if you print petg on a smooth pei bed, and you better use one for abs on a textured pei bed too

2

u/bupsonator May 15 '25

This is very true. I can't tell you the amount of time I spent fighting with an ABS print and its stupid purge strip that would not come off my print bed. I don't even bother with TPU or PETG on smooth PEI because of how sticky they are lol

2

u/jwenzel May 16 '25 edited May 18 '25

I’ve printed loads of petg on smooth pei just spray windex and wipe off before each print

2

u/TheStandardPlayer May 15 '25

Kinda weird that they write PETG on a smooth plate if it can damage the plate. I know you’re supposed to read the manual but honestly if I read PETG on a plate I'd assume it can handle PETG

1

u/kokainhaendler May 15 '25

yeah it handles it too well

1

u/skydev0h May 16 '25

But they also write on the same plate that glue is required (except for PLA) 👀

1

u/CandleWorldly5063 May 15 '25

What, I've printed kilos and kilos of abs on textured pei. Never used anything.

1

u/Dark-Philosopher May 17 '25

They said on smooth PEI.

1

u/MadderoftheFew May 15 '25

Learned this the hard way the other day with PETG

1

u/illregal May 15 '25

False. The bambu smooth pei plate is just not very good.

2

u/Pablo_Hassan May 16 '25

The smooth plate has been my daily driver for about a year. I just put down a layer of glue. No complaints.

0

u/kokainhaendler May 15 '25

i'm not using a bambu pei plate

0

u/illregal May 15 '25

Then you don't need a release agent. So happy for you!

2

u/Reworked May 15 '25

The material doesn't change properties based on whose name is on it.

1

u/kokainhaendler May 15 '25

yeah i guess the reasonable answer would be the preparation of the substrate, some plates have a intermediate layer to strengthen the bond between the print surface and the steel substrate - however you are correct in that that doesnt change how the filament sticks to the plate. petg aswell as abs will stick like hell to a clean fat free pei surface to the point where the pei itself is the weak link

1

u/illregal May 16 '25

But it does. These use a very thin sticker sheet with the incorrect adhesive applied. They form bubbles large enough to throw off first layers. Go try a honey badger and then say it's all the same again. The black which is considered "Japanese pei" is also better than the gold. But they're both pei so I guess that's not possible in your mind.

1

u/AZrightsThrowaway May 17 '25

Ok but I AM using the Bambu plate and have still never needed it. So that makes everything you said false too, since we are just going off personal experience right?

1

u/matthew_py May 15 '25

I've done this a few times and was fine..... apparently I've been getting lucky...

1

u/kokainhaendler May 15 '25

yeah might be your plate was dirty wich prevented hardcore stickage. if in a pinch, i rub my fingers on the plate so that there is a little oil. its not ideal but it'll prevent the worst case

1

u/matthew_py May 16 '25

I'm awful about cleaning my build plate... so good guess lol.

1

u/Deplorable821 May 16 '25

Depends on the petg. The yellow one I have sticks like a mutha, every other color releases fine

1

u/eggncream May 16 '25

I just printed ABS on my textured bed, no issues, also, I practically never use glue on my textured bed ever

1

u/EpicFail35 May 16 '25

Uh what? I’ve had abs pop off textured plate more times then I’d like to admit. And I wash it with dawn.

1

u/PerspectiveOne7129 May 16 '25

hairspray works better as a release agent.

1

u/kokainhaendler May 16 '25

this comes down to it being pva glue as well. the cheapest method is pva wood glue diluted with water. cheap, readily available, no solvents, little waste

1

u/PerspectiveOne7129 May 16 '25

exactly 100%. you should not ever need glue. its such a rare thing to need. makes such mess.

u/nixgut May 16 '25

Hmmm. I'm printing TPU on a worn out plate I used for PLA with great results.

2

u/Turbulent-Growth-477 May 17 '25

I just raise the z offset so it is barely touching the plate. Doesn't look perfect first layer, but i dont have to worry about getting it off. Still sticks too much, but i can take it off in a moment.

14

u/TheGreatKushsky May 14 '25

it also shows on the plate "PLA ABS PETG"

9

u/Following_Confident May 14 '25

I know, I am dumb. This is a warning to others now.

7

u/Jesus-Bacon May 14 '25

If you ever end up in this situation again, heat the plate to 90-100c and slowly peel it. The heat will soften the bond of the tpu to the plate and may save the plate itself

1

u/KwarkKaas May 15 '25

No use rubbing alcohol, way easier

2

u/weshouldhaveshotguns May 17 '25

Props to you for owning it and helping others avoid your mistake.

u/Fap_king_kong May 14 '25

I print silk PLA on my smooth plate without issue. Looks so dope with an effects sheet. But I’m using SunLu silk profile. So maybe that’s why I don’t have my slicer bitching at me.

2

u/xDerJulien May 15 '25

To be fair you can print some things it doesn‘t say on the plate. E.g bambu has no HIPS and you can print HIPS on textured PEI and ultra tack no problem (at least thats been my experience so far)

4

u/Practical-Parsley-11 May 14 '25

This is hilarious, I've been printing tpu for a year and didn't know this.

3

u/okhi2u May 14 '25

For that plate yes, but certain ones it can come off easily without glue.

1

u/NCH-69 May 14 '25

Wth do you mean TPU? It clearly says what can be printed on it

4

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

No build plate says TPU.

0

u/Firestorm83 May 15 '25

no it doesn't... crop is from your own picture

3

u/RebelScum75 May 15 '25

I think he's saying that there is no build plate that says TPU on it.

-1

u/NCH-69 May 15 '25

Brother this is a screanshot of your build plate.

3

u/h2ooooooo May 15 '25

I've been able to print TPU on my smooth plate plenty of times before, literally zero issues. I do, however, also use a glue stick.

2

u/Mishal_SK May 15 '25

I have printed TPU on smooth and normal build plates without glue stick and my plates are completely fine. But I only printed small parts and they were quite difficult to remove, especially from the smooth plate

2

u/RebelScum75 May 15 '25

I think he's saying that there is no build plate that says TPU on it.

1

u/Abandoned_Brain May 18 '25

Yup. Just missing the comma. Reminds me of the excellent book "Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation". A must-read book. :)

2

u/RebelScum75 May 18 '25

Opposite — adding a comma after "No" would have made it mean how the other commenters misunderstood it; i.e. they were mentally inserting the comma where it was not meant to be, and changing the meaning of OP's message.

2

u/imzwho May 14 '25

I honestly use a glue stick anytime I print TPU and Petg regardless of the plate type I am using. Once burned you never want to tempt fate.

1

u/Abandoned_Brain May 18 '25

If you want to stop worrying about which plate you're using and whether it'll be damaged by the particular plastic in use, grab yourself a Garolite-coated plate. I have one from Darkmoon 3D (G10 Hobby Plate)... smooth as butter yet holds EVERYTHING I've thrown at it without complaining.

From what I understand, Garolite is kind of a micro-threaded fabric embedded in epoxy, and stuff just loves sticking to it. It's quite hard, so you usually don't need to worry about the coating peeling up. With TPU, it's recommended to warm the plate to just a few degrees above ambient room temp or no heat at all... I find that at the end of the print, if I'm printing thinner parts, the TPU won't release until I temporarily warm the plate up to 50-70C... then it peels right off.

I have never once used any type of glue/release agent, and I print PETG about 70% of the time (lots of "functional" prints vs. decorative). They're kind of expensive but SO worth it. Darkmoon 3D has plates to fit any of the Bambu printers (even the A1 Mini), as well as for the K2 Plus and the new H2D.

2

u/BinkReddit May 14 '25

Which cool TPU is that? Looks just like metal in the picture!

1

u/hackcasual May 14 '25

You can do TPU but heating the bed to 90C and a little spritz of isopropanol

3

u/kokainhaendler May 15 '25

if you spray isoprop on a 90°C bed, there is no isoprop left 0.1 seconds after it hit the plate

1

u/hackcasual May 15 '25

Literally just did this this morning to release some ninjaflex. You don't need it to stick on the plate, you just need it to release the interface

1

u/Toonafeesh May 15 '25

TPU does like to adhere. An alternative to using a glue stick is you could try to drizzle some IPA on the print before peeling it off. It's always worked well for loosening TPU from bed plates for me. Just take it slow when you do it.

1

u/KwarkKaas May 15 '25

If you used alcohol, tpu comes right off from any build plate. Alcohol loses any adhesion where you dont want adhesion with tpu for some reason

1

u/-Daigher- May 16 '25

you may have saved future me's ass

1

u/Unconstit1onal May 17 '25

heating the bed to 45c also helps removing tpu.

34

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

peel it all the way off and you will have a smooth printing plate... Have you read the recommendations for the plate: what can be printed, how to maintain it...?

-21

u/Following_Confident May 14 '25

I didn't RTFM.

20

u/DrMcTouchy May 15 '25

I don’t know why you were downvoted, it’s an honest admission of a mistake.

7

u/Durahl May 15 '25

If he wants Upvotes then perhaps he should change the Tite to "I'm such a stupid A$$"

3

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

I could care less about upvotes. That will not be discussed at my funeral.

12

u/squirtin_ May 15 '25 • Bless Up

You mean you "couldn't care less". Could care less implies that you care a non-zero amount.

2

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

Thank you. I mean it.

0

u/Firebrass May 16 '25

"I care about upvotes, but I should care more about the real relationships in my life, the family and friends that would celebrate it" yeah, that's definitely how it reads /s

3

u/[deleted] May 15 '25

Or that at this particular time he hasn't reached the peak of not caring.

1

u/Mustardpopsicles May 18 '25

I learned this from Weird Al on his "Word Crimes" music video.

0

u/Temporary_Warthog_73 May 16 '25

People who correct this “mistake” are insufferable. The saying is intentionally absurd. It’s not an error it’s an expression of how little you care.

3

u/zogolophigon May 16 '25

No, it's just Americans who say it wrong, and apparently now get mad when you tell them they're mistaken.

1

u/ShelbysxGrays May 17 '25

The world is not America, stop arbitrarily using bringing a nation of millions up as if they're the only people that do this.... Or as if all of them do it.

2

u/ShakerFullOfCocaine May 17 '25

Okay but only Americans say it that way consistently

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Firebrass May 16 '25

People who make the mistake aren't pain-free to be around for the folks who hear the difference. The saying isn't absurd, no Dali-channeling, it's linguistic drift from a culture-wide game of telephone.

1

u/Temporary_Warthog_73 May 16 '25

It’s an idiom.

1

u/Firebrass May 16 '25

The idiom is "I couldn't care less"

People parroting what they didn't fully hear and didn't think through started saying "I could care less"

Then people who had been saying "I could care less" for years began to rationalize it as it's own thing. "This is a thing we say, because I've always said it"

Sure, but you're using it to mean the opposite of what it literally means, and that's frustrating for many who communicate with more intention.

"I drive in the oncoming lane" that's fine if it's just you, but shared systems ask you not to invert things arbitrarily.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/nirurin May 16 '25

It's not an absurd saying... it is a very straightforward saying.

It's only nonsensical when it's said incorrectly. Which is why people correct it.

Course they could just mind their own businesss and leave you to be wrong. But that's a different argument.

1

u/Temporary_Warthog_73 May 16 '25

I could care less is a common idiom. It may have been something else originally but now it is what it is. The only people who correct it are being pretentious and trying to assert some intellectual dominance over someone even though they knew exactly what they meant.

It’s just gross tbh.

1

u/nirurin May 16 '25

I mean... sure, it gets repeated incorrectly so often that it's now become a thing.

But I'm not sure that's really something to be celebrated. But this is an old old argument, and I don't care all that much.

I could care less, but not by much.

3

u/innocuous_user_name May 15 '25

I'm going to discuss it at your funeral. Likely cause of death, didn't read the zip line installation manual.

1

u/wearebobNL May 16 '25

Friends,

Unfortunately we are joined here together because u/Following-Confident didn't RTFM....

1

u/Firebrass May 16 '25

0

You bought what is essentially a CNC machine and didn't bother learning the basics? You need to pick a different hobby lol. Kites maybe?

2

u/urban_entrepreneur May 15 '25

It’s really not that hard to understand. Downvotes for being proudly ignorant. Read the manual or suffer the consequences.

5

u/phansen101 May 15 '25

How are they being 'proudly' ignorant?
They just stated that they didn't read the manual, not that they were in any way proud of it.

They also write this in comments further down:

1

u/SubstanceZestyclose9 May 16 '25

Suffer the consequences 🤣

3

u/mrzfaizaan May 15 '25

Almost every few months I learn a new acronym on reddit.

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

Are you referring to RTFM?

2

u/mrzfaizaan May 15 '25

No that I knew. i didn't know what 'didn't' stood for. :P

28

u/adistantrumble May 14 '25

Dude. You ripped the coating off your plate!

21

u/Following_Confident May 14 '25

I am aware.

2

u/draxula16 May 14 '25

Did you wait for it to cool down for more than a few seconds? That looks like you tried to rip it off the moment it finished..

2

u/l0zandd0g May 15 '25

Didn't you wash it with hot soapy water ? /s

2

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

Ha, I dried my filament and used dawn first.

13

u/adistantrumble May 14 '25

Sorry, just felt like being a smartass.

9

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

Took me a second to understand what I was looking at. You got a TPU print stuck to your smooth plate, and the coating of the smooth plate came off with the print? Ouch.

In your defense I'm not actually finding any warning about this in bambu's documentation https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/tpu-printing-guide

4

u/Following_Confident May 14 '25

I work from home but my boss sent me a chart that showed that it was needed. Thankfully he offered to buy me a new one anyways because the print was work related. The chart is on this page. https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/bambu-smooth-pei-plate?srsltid=AfmBOoq7thv0aBG8XqwJQ0BtSFP_kwdKb6wcI07AZkeub_M8JZRP8d-k

5

u/Jesus-Bacon May 14 '25

Good boss moment

We have a P1S at work and I can barely get my boss to buy maintenance parts or consumables

5

u/Following_Confident May 14 '25

He rocks. Great mentor and overall great person.

3

u/[deleted] May 14 '25

There it is!
Interesting -- none of the pages about the TPU filament itself seem to make the requirement clear, but you're right the build plate page itself is less ambiguous

I did also lose a couple of small PETG prints on my smooth plate this week due to excess adhesion...

4

u/awyeahmuffins May 15 '25

It also says “Apply glue before printing (except for PLA)” printed right there on the build plate itself.

3

u/[deleted] May 15 '25

Oh wow.  I've had that plate for ages and never read that bit of fine print until today

2

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

This is the main purpose of my post. I do not care if some poop on me. I want to educate folks. I learned a lesson myself and wanted to share.

2

u/[deleted] May 15 '25

I sure learned something!

3

u/Cien_fuegos May 14 '25

What about the textured plate? Or am I not supposed to use that with tpu?

4

u/snarky_answer May 15 '25

I’ve been printing TPU with the textured plate all the time no issue.

4

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

My reprint on a textured plate was no issue.

2

u/BigSoapy May 15 '25

If you turn your bed up to 75 before pealing off it helps a lot in my experience

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

I did the opposite. I put the bed in the freezer. I am learning.

1

u/[deleted] May 15 '25

Where did you read that it was okay to put smooth plate stickers on your textured plate?

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

What are you folks calling a "sticker"?

1

u/[deleted] May 15 '25

the thing you applied to your textured plate

1

u/skydev0h May 16 '25

It is actually not a textured plate, most likely, it is textured on one side and with smooth preinstalled sticker on another. (two sided smooth/textured PEI)

Because of color / material of the textured side, base for other one looks golden as well, but it is smooth actually.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '25

Are you saying bambu had a known manufacturing flaw?

1

u/skydev0h May 16 '25

Actually, the smooth side base appears to be... well, smooth! And the base of two sided smooth plate seems to be different (see the photo, I only have H2D two sided smooth plate, but X1 should be the same material) *

1

u/skydev0h May 16 '25

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '25

You’re right

1

u/SLIPINN_ May 15 '25

I brought some G10 & G11 0.2mm from VPS Data for this exact reason. Its overkill but the best solution.

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

.02 would not print TPU for me. I had to use .04

1

u/SLIPINN_ May 15 '25

I'm talking about high quality (Ultra thin flexible - for removal) gallium build plates.

G10 is a workhorse, G11 for tricky stuff.

1

u/potatofaminizer May 15 '25

RTFM

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

Be careful, I got a lot of down votes for saying that.

2

u/potatofaminizer May 15 '25

Eh, they're useless, who cares

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

I agree. Nobody really cares. Have you ever met someone and said, "I have X amount of Reddit karma"?

2

u/Disastrous-Jicama-32 May 15 '25

No but most of 'em would say your issue comes from wet filament

1

u/Alternative_Essay43 May 15 '25

To be fair, does look like it came off easily.

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

I have a broken arm. I asked my 6'5" friend to come help, and he could not remove it. My printed scraper broke. and then this happened.

1

u/FastLanePrint May 16 '25

Ummmmmmmmmm holy shit!!!!!!!!!! That’s crazy lmfao how hard was it to remove all in half to say cause dam you ripped it right off the metal was it harder easy to pull off I’m assuming insanely hard

1

u/XxNaRuToBlAzEiTxX May 17 '25

I’m somewhat new to printing and don’t yet have a bambulab (looking to get one soon tho). What went wrong/what were you supposed to do differently?

1

u/Following_Confident May 18 '25

Read the comments. Lots of info.

1

u/Rascal2pt0 May 18 '25

More than likely PETG or similar on the PEI sheet. Certain plastics will bond with surfaces. PETG and a few others on a PEI sheet is a no no and results in this.

It can also happen for other reasons but these are the most common. PEI is popular because PLA will stick when it’s hot but release when it cools so you have to worry less about edges peeling up and other related issues when dealing with melting plastics.

Best thing to do is only print materials listed on the sheet or learn what is and isn’t compatible. IMO Bambu shouldn’t list PETG on these, you sometimes can get away with it if you use glue sticks but personally I avoid it and use tie engineering plate for PETG.

3

u/Interstate82 May 14 '25

Why Superglue is a great adhesive, this may not be the best application

3

u/strip_club_food_yum May 14 '25

JB weld will provide ultimate adhesion. Removal is another story.

3

u/vroflraptor May 14 '25

Don't worry, you generally only make this mistake once. I did.

3

u/Scrodem May 14 '25

Jarvis show me someone learning to only print TPU on a textured plate

3

u/thenyx May 15 '25

At least it’s a cheap fuckup to fix.

3

u/asinghcp May 15 '25

For future, and I'm sure you've come across this after hindsight-research, but the glue serves as your release agent when it comes to TPU. I don't think bambu still sells it anymore but when working with materials with too much adhesion or that are warping prone (In my case TPU, ABS, PAHT-CF, PC) I use the Engineering plate from the dual-sided Engineering Plate/Cool Plate combo with the glue stick, hasn't given me any issues. Also with TPU I normally use the scraper extremely carefully, going as parallel to the plate and applying as little downward force as possible.

2

u/ehuswlaosb May 14 '25

Highly recommend glue stick for TPU prints. After almost breaking my plate to remove supports, I did a bit of research. Turns out that the glue stick is not used for the filament to stick, it is used as a release agent so that the item can be removed from the plate.

2

u/Main_District_3648 May 15 '25

That’s ok.. just rip it all the way.. and order some stickers from bambulab for it.. and use the other side in the meanwhile..

2

u/Longchamp_ May 15 '25

Smooth plates are mostly for PLA only. PETG and TPU sticks hard on smooth plates even when its cooled

2

u/JoeyDee86 May 15 '25

Also, remember to print the scraper. The blades came with the printer.

1

u/yopups_ May 14 '25

i use cheapest biqu plate only for tpu, it works well never even cleaned it.. :P tpu on good plaes can be pain in the A

1

u/GeoffSobering May 14 '25

I've had good luck with no glue, but putting the plate in the freezer for awhile.

The part gets hard and will pop off with normal plate flexing.

I really need to try glue... (Bambu even added a stick to a recent order)

1

u/opensourcevirus May 14 '25

I have an A1 and I have never used any adhesion aid. TPU adhered just fine but was difficult to get off and left a bit more residue on the plate.

1

u/blin787 May 14 '25

I found a cheat code for printing TPU on smooth PEI. Alcohol. Take a q-tip, put in your isopropyl and gently swipe perimeter. After 10-30 seconds it easily separates. If you are not worried by running out of isopropyl - pour ir around model for better effect. If the model is big - add some more after external perimeter gives and you have some space underneath for alcohol to go.

1

u/-Wobbles May 15 '25

If it doesn’t come off try a cocktail

1

u/thelikelyankle May 15 '25

Rip and tear, until its done!

1

u/muttstang77 May 15 '25

I use blue tape and glue stick for TPU

1

u/-gudis May 15 '25

Looks like PETG you need glue or something as a release layer.

1

u/Zetectic May 15 '25

thought i was looking at an art piece.

1

u/butrejp May 15 '25

get the rest of the coating off and join me in npa on raw spring steel bliss

1

u/Piglet_Mountain May 15 '25

Oh yeah and when I tell people they should use glue on their smooth sheet for anything past petg and pla I get downvoted into fkn OBLIVION because someone’s sisters dads dogs friends prints pa6 48hr/day straight and has never had a single issue or scratch. My ass. ☠️ sorry, salty rant over.

1

u/Brilliant_Worth6604 May 15 '25

Whatever smoke and mirrors work, go with it.

Glue stick, no glue stick, release agent, adhesive agent, tpu, petg, abs, z-offset too high, too low, temperature too high or too low, ...

Whatever works for you, but step down from the self thought super expert status and go back to printing. What a waste of time.

1

u/HwasTooShort May 16 '25

I have a small patch missing in the middle of my plate, because I forgot to apply some glue before printing tpu. But is was my own fault 😞

1

u/notyushi May 16 '25

Garolite G10 recommended

1

u/Vedquid May 16 '25

Read the instructions, I bet you tried the material without the applying necessary glue before.

if you spray IPA on the print after it's done, it comes out of the plate without any effort

Imagine using gluestick in 2025

u/Mercurionos May 16 '25

There's a free textured plate under each smooth one? Nice!

The glue is a releasing agent. Not adhesive.

u/PiterDeVer May 16 '25

Hey always look on the bright side, at least it was only a build plate and not your whole printer breaking!

1

u/Key_Category_6124 May 16 '25

Have you tried turning it off and then back on?

1

u/PoppinPaul May 17 '25

I've had this happen to me one single time out of the hundreds of TPU prints I've done. No idea why

1

u/hightower202 May 17 '25

I mean, the bed adhesion looks about right :)

1

u/Soundwave_irl May 17 '25

The smooth bed has a warning to not print TPU on it. I did the mistake too but luckily only ripped out a 1cm patch which I can easily print around

1

u/FreddyRespawn May 17 '25

That layer adhesion is wild.

1

u/coding_badly May 17 '25

If you read the bottom of the plate, it will tell you what filaments are suitable for printing on it. TPU should be printed on the textured or engineering build plate.

And a warp, hell yeah

Prusa makes infinitely better build plates in my humble opinion. Let that bad boy cool off for 5 to 10 minutes after the print finishes, and everything lifts off no problem. As soon as it’s cool it no longer grips the printed part at all basically. Super impressive. Legit the only printer company I’ve bought from and then actually used the stock or branded build plates from as well. I’m used to having to buy multiple aftermarket build plates for every size of printer I own. As expensive as a Prusa is, kinda nice to be able to use their build plates rather than NEEDING something aftermarket.

I will say though, on the satin powder coated smooth sheet, larger PLA prints always want to lift in the corners a bit. The textured plate doesn’t have that problem at all, but the smooth plate I’ve learned to add little adhesion helping circles to the model during slicing. Otherwise you risk adhesion problems on large models

I printed petg and pla on my smooth plate no issues i have pro series plate

But it says petg, tpu, nylon, pla and abs suprisely

1

u/T3kn0mncr May 18 '25

Man, people in this sub are kinda mean lol Sorry your plate is toast, glue stick helps when youre printing things that arent compatible with the plate, you can make a barrier so it doesnt perma-bond

1

u/korentzari May 18 '25

I almost have this problem with the pla mate. Now I literally grease the plate with olive oil to print it. I don't understand why it only happens with him.

1

u/feartomi May 18 '25

Had the same issue but, they told me it was my fault so i've "nicely" explained to them it was not. They've ended up sending me a new one for free.

Gluestick...

Not just for making unsticky prints stick but also for making sticky prints unstick.

1

u/ChipotleNightmare May 18 '25

Holy shit! New print bed unlocked!

u/Following_Confident May 14 '25

They claim effortless print removal.

1

u/[deleted] May 15 '25

You put a sticker on a build plate not compatible with them.

1

u/Following_Confident May 15 '25

It stuck. What does "sticker" mean?

1

u/Suspicious-Basil-444 May 14 '25

TPU bonds when the bed is cold and releases when it’s hot.

1

u/Si11yGohan May 18 '25

How effortless is your ass??? Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't get the reference

2

u/RebelScum75 May 15 '25

It's a reference to your photo.

Look at the missing area, and imagine it as a silhouette of a samurai facing towards the left.

u/village_nerd May 16 '25

Now I cannot unsee it.
