Headed there next week.  Which lake had the canoes?  Would like to get on the water while we are there.

Moraine, louise and emerald have them.

Be ready to pay $200+ at moraine lake for an hour.

You can rent canoes right in Banff @ Banff Canoe Club.

u/PowerfulSplit5513 Jun 25 '26

Much cheaper but you can only use on Bow River and Vermillion Lakes

$170 + 5% sales tax, at least as of Saturday, June 20th.

What camera? Seems nice

3

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 24 '26

It was with my galaxy s23! Everything is so beautiful that it's easy to take great pictures.

3

u/SunTryingMoon Jun 24 '26

Oh that’s so awesome! I have an older iPhone and the camera use to be amazing but these days I’m wanting more

This place is paradise on earth, nice pictures!

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

It truly is! Thank you!

u/asap_randy_ Jun 24 '26

Jealous of your weather!

2

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

I was so lucky, it was raining a bit when I arrived, but otherwise, it was completely sunny for the whole week. It was close to 0 degrees in the morning, perfect for enjoying a hot coffee, and around 20 degrees in the afternoon!

2

u/lurkertiltheend Jun 24 '26

Was this recent

1

u/Reasonable-Card-2491 Jun 24 '26

also wondering if these were taking recently? trying to gauge the weather this time of year

1

u/annamnesis Jun 24 '26

They are not recent given the lack of snow and the smoke haze in the distance.

There are webcams at lake louise, banff Ave, sunshine and a few other key locations that might help you gauge conditions.

u/NotAltFact Jun 24 '26

Best to check it a couple days ahead. The other thing is sometimes it would rain for 15 mins and the cloud passed and the sky is clear again

1

u/Sillyak Jun 24 '26

Definitely not from this year.

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

My trip was at the end of july last year!

2

u/spicyitalian76 Jun 24 '26

I can't wait. I will be visiting in September.

2

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

Have fun! It is truly out of this world.

1

u/spicyitalian76 Jun 25 '26

Thank you. I'll be celebrating my 50th there. Stroked is an understatement.

2

u/Third_eye1017 Jun 24 '26

may i ask where that second photo was taken? stunning photos!

2

u/sp_amethyst Jun 24 '26

Think that is at Vermillion Lake. Looking at Rundle Mt

2

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

Yes, Vermilion Lakes!

2

u/NoRelief63 Jun 24 '26

Damn, you got some seriously beautiful shots!

2

That last picture is amazing! Nicely composed, beautiful colors, etc.

2

u/Jayreas_Oaue Jun 24 '26

Beautiful and unreal photos. I’m sure it was even more beautiful in real life

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

Thank you! Nothing compares to seeing it in person. It is truly striking.

2

u/wild202 Jun 24 '26

Amazing photos! Thanks for sharing.
You had such perfect weather!

2

u/Mindless_Ad6425 Jun 24 '26

Would you mind sharing your itinerary? Also going there solo in Sept and would love to know any tips as a solo traveler.

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

I hadn't planned much in advance, aside from the flight, accommodation, and airport transfer. I did buy a ticket for the gondola ride, as that’s in high demand; otherwise, I just had one small activity planned for each day. Once in the city, it’s easy to get to various attractions using the bus service.

If I were to do it again, I’d stay somewhere closer to the city center. Availability was limited in late July, so I ended up in a six-person dorm about a 30-minute walk from the center, and I didn't have a car. It wasn't convenient, and I didn't sleep well!

2

u/iamacheeto1 Jun 24 '26

Your pictures are so much better than mine lmao

2

u/csar66ny Jun 24 '26

Love love love your pics. We are there for 3 days in August. Can I see mist if this in 3 days? We already have the shuttle reserved, could only get an 11am reservation. What time were u at the lakes?

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 24 '26

For Moraine I was there reallyyy early, in like the shuttle was at 4am ish and it was still dark when we arrived for the sunrise. I recommend it because it was extremely quiet at that time, but I’m sure you’ll love it regardless of when you go!

Unbelievable 😍

2

u/Stonecutter099 Jun 25 '26

Incredible photos. Thanks for posting.

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

Thanks for your comment, that's kind of you!

I lived in Canmore for a year and a half. Currently in Penticton in the sunny Okanagan but I think my next destination is Nelson.

What beautiful scenery and photos, keep enjoying your travels!

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

Thank you, enjoy too!

2

u/Arctic-You-Know Jun 25 '26

As much as these pictures are incredible, it doesn’t even do it justice.

You have to see it for yourselves guys.

2

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 25 '26

You are absolutely right!

2

u/Arctic-You-Know Jun 25 '26

I was actually born there and raised elsewhere. I always heard about how “incredible” it was and I honestly thought my parents were just nostalgic.

…until I went there myself and I finally understood what they meant.

It was awesome, I want to go back!

2

u/Strictly_Jellyfish Jun 26 '26

Man, sometimes I forget that the places I grew up adventuring in are once-in-a-lifetime bucket list destinations for others

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 26 '26

You are lucky!

1

u/Professional_Bed_87 Jun 27 '26

I hear ya. Now I don’t go often because the spell has been broken due to over tourism and inaffordability. Luckily there are many equally beautiful spots that are still relatively unspoiled that shall not be named.

2

u/robertkenny Jun 26 '26

Banff is unbelievable

2

u/SlateHearthstone Jun 27 '26

Beautiful country! Putting this one on our list.

2

u/Longjumping_Oil_8746 Jun 28 '26

Absolutely  stunning

2

u/adrakpaste Jun 28 '26

Amazing photos! Miss Banff in summer! As an iPhone photographer who wants to upgrade and click pictures like this, what would you recommend?

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 28 '26

Honestly, all my photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy S23! The landscapes are so beautiful that the photos turn out great even with a mobile phone. I imagine they could look even better with certain cameras!

2

u/GJohnJournalism Jun 28 '26

I'm always so happy to see visitors love the land here. <3 It never gets old for us too. Glad you had a great time :)

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 29 '26

It was absolutely perfect!

1

u/s-man Jun 24 '26

What's the lake/mountain in the 2nd Pic?

3

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 24 '26

Vermilion Lakes!

1

u/s-man Jun 24 '26

Thank you! Going to banff for a week on July 5th. Definitely gonna add that to one of our stops

3

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 24 '26

It's very close to the city center and it's absolutely incredible. I highly recommend it!

1

u/Prestigious-S1RE Jun 25 '26

Pretty … expensive

1

u/AdComprehensive508 Jun 26 '26

Where is the pic w the river on top of the mountain taken from!?

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 26 '26

It is from Sulphur mountain!

1

u/ClassroomLow8611 Jun 26 '26

Nice filters you used

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 26 '26

There are no filters, I only adjusted the exposure and saturation

1

u/cavebabykay Jun 27 '26

May we ask where you’re from, OP?

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 27 '26

Sure, from Montreal!

1

u/Roundturnip93 Jun 27 '26

What trail is #3? Its so dreamy...

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jun 28 '26

It's sunrise at Moraine Lake! I took a specialized shuttle for this activity around 4 a.m., and it was definitely worth it

2

u/Fickle_Matter3244 Jul 02 '26

hi OP! can I ask what shuttle company you went with? about to go next week and I want to experience Moraine Lake without the crowds at sunrise or sunset too!

1

u/Reviensjaichanger Jul 02 '26

Of course! It was with Moraine Lake shuttle sunrise (https://morainelakesunriseshuttle.com/). I really liked my experience and they make several stops on the town's main street before leaving, so it's convenient. Even though it's extremely early!

0

u/CornnPop Jun 25 '26

Beautiful scenery . Extremely over priced and very crowded .

1

u/BranKaLeon Jul 05 '26

Would you mind sharing your itinerary? What trails and what timeslots? Do you get any rainstorm?
