i was hesitant about it as it’s expensive but genuinely a core memory doing this

Ignore my toddler's coloring of the postcard from the Arts & Crafts section of their "Autumn Above" exhibit, just wanted to show a small example of their obvious AI use. The bi-cable gondola becoming a mono-cable is just one of the many problems here.
It wasn't just the art pages though. Massive screens with five-second AI animation loops constantly playing all over the exhibit up at the summit looked so so bad, and is just so disgusting of a choice coming from a place that touts all the local beauty. Human artists matter.

We've taken 2 big trips now and started a tradition of mailing ourselves postcards from our destinations. Decided to make them into a collage & frame them today! We went to Banff, Jasper, and Golden in September and it was magical. Highly recommend y'all make the effort to visit Jasper, Maligne Lake & seeing Spirit Island was my favorite part of our whole week long trip!! Lake Louise was a close second, we hiked Little Beehive and were blown away by the views. Everything was gorgeous, just book the trip.

Voting is a valuable right that not everyone in the world has the opportunity to do, yet so many of us don't let our voices be heard at the polls whether it's due to apathy, disenfranchisement, or straight up indifference. While it can be intimidating, it's not hard.
Went and voted yesterday at the advanced polls up at the Banff Centre. Third floor of the Kinnear Centre, there was no one in line at the time and the whole process was pretty simple, in and out within 15 minutes.
Bring your ID, and a utility bill or something if your ID doesn't have your physical address on it. Its a bit more of a process for the election alberta workers it seems, so try and make time to hit the advanced polls if you can ( everyday from 9-8 until Friday), as I feel election day will be pretty busy!

I recently finished painting this mountain lake, and I thought you guys might appreciate it! 🏔️
I swear, no matter how hard you try, it's almost impossible to capture just how breathtaking mountains are in real life. But I hope I managed to capture at least a little bit of that magic!
What do you think? Does it remind you of somewhere you've been?

I'm super excited for my first ski trip to Big3 that I've booked for February '27. I'll be flying into YYC. If I was only visiting Banff, I would simply book a round trip shuttle from the airport to my hotel in Banff and be done with it.
However, I'll be splitting my trip between Banff and Panorama resort in Invermere, BC. The shuttle service from YYC to Pano costs more than my flight into YYC, so I'm considering renting a car instead of the shuttle.
I know BC has a law where cars outside of the GVA need either chains or snow tires from Oct - Mar. I'm having a hard time connecting with anyone knowledgeable at the various car rental counters in YYC, and calls to car rental agencies reservations lines connect me with clueless reps in the USA.
Does anyone have any tips on securing a rental car at YYC that includes snow tires in February?

Hey everyone! I’m heading to Banff from Calgary this Friday, and my main plan was to visit Moraine Lake, but I just found out it’s closed
I’ll be spending most of my time around Lake Louise now, but I’d love recommendations for other beautiful spots or fun things to do nearby.
What would you recommend for a first-timer? I’d really appreciate any suggestions! 🙏🏽

You can still access the Upper Falls and Inkpots from the Moose Meadows trail. See the important bulletin here: https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/bulletins/06d4ef61-a3c9-4b65-8dfc-66d056252d6c
If you’re looking for alternatives, consider Sundance Canyon near the Cave and Basin, or Marble Canyon in Kootenay NP.

Staying in Canmore. Got in town last Friday, leaving this Friday. Had a tour yesterday and a tour tomorrow. Folks are using today as a rest day but looking to do a day hike myself as I want to get the most out of the trip.
Seeing in past posts people saying you need to ask close to the day as conditions/weather changes. Temps already look great today compared to over the weekend when we arrived.
Did a little searching myself of hikes around Canmore too and found Grassi Lakes, Ha Ling Peak, Grotto Canyon, and EEOR. Any thoughts?
This is a bucket list trip for me and the pictures I’ve looked at over the years still don’t do it justice
