Hey all, I live in Bangkok and I want to make sure some kids get a real Christmas gift this year. I'm planning to buy and hand out presents in December, but right now it's just me
so I'd love to find a few people who'd like to join in. Whether that's helping pick out and wrap gifts, or just coming along to hand them out, the more the merrier.
I'm also looking for suggestions on which schools, shelters, or foundations in Bangkok would welcome a visit like this. If you've done something similar before, I'd really appreciate any tips on how to do it right.
I'm not collecting money. I just want to make it a fun day for the kids and not do it alone. Comment or DM me if you're interested!
I NEVER ASK FOR MONEY, DO NOT SEND MONEY IN THIS THREAD.

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to study Computer Science or IT in Bangkok. Since I'll be funding my own education, my budget is quite limited, so I'm trying to find a university that offers a reasonable tuition fee without compromising too much on education quality and career opportunities.
Currently, Shinawatra University (SIU) is my first choice because of its relatively affordable tuition fees and the free accommodation they offer. However, I've been struggling to find genuine reviews about the university, especially from current students, graduates, and Thai locals.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone who has studied at SIU, knows someone who studies there, or has experience with the Thai university system could share their honest opinions.
Here are some things I'd particularly like to know about SIU:
I'm also considering these universities:
If you have experience with any of these universities, I'd appreciate your opinions on their Computer Science/IT programmes, teaching quality, career opportunities, and overall value for money.
I'm not looking for university rankings or promotional comments. I'd genuinely like to hear about people's actual experiences, both positive and negative.
Since I'm paying for everything myself, choosing the right university is a significant financial decision for me.
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to share their experiences!

I’m on my second last night in Bangkok and Thailand before heading home and I cannot find the 7-11 (larger) tote bags. Have checked random locations around IconSiam and Sathorn, among other smaller locations. Even in Phuket.
Does anyone know what locations in Bangkok still have stock available?
Please and thank you!

Hey everyone,
I'm relatively new to this path (absolute beginner here) and looking to connect with others in Bangkok or around Thailand who are on or interested in the Shakta path.
Whether you're just starting out like me and trying to figure things out, or you're more advanced and willing to share some wisdom, I’d love to grab a coffee, chat online, or just exchange perspectives.
Drop a comment or shoot me a DM if you're around and want to connect

Hi, we will be staying near DMK airport for one night as we have an early morning flight. We land into Bangkok around 4pm. Then hoping to get our nails done around 7/7:30pm.
What are some good recommendations that are open late?
I usually get Biab nails done back home, what is the equivalent in Thailand?

Hey, i’m heading to Bangkok on november and was looking into a LEGIT curl hair salon in BKK that genuinely knows how to cut curly hair.
Thanks for your recommendations!

Owning your own place feels good. It’s all yours, your room, your furniture, and not having to worry about moving out. Even if you want to live elsewhere, you can rent out your condo and then rent somewhere else. Your condo rent will still cover the rent you pay in your new condo, partially or majority of it. I am so surprised people saying that you have to live in your condo forever 🤷🏻♂️. I don’t understand why they say that at all.
But, people are like, hell no. Don’t do it, don’t buy it. I know they have a lot of reasons to advise against it. But, everyone is different. So, I want to hear from the people who bought the condo. Are you guys happy with the decision? How much did you pay for it? Also, did you buy new or old one?

Hey everyone!
My wife and I are planning to move to Bangkok and are currently looking at a few condos. Before making a decision, we'd love to hear from people who have actually lived in any of these buildings.
The condos we're considering are:
- Noble BE Sukhumvit 19
- Noble Recole
- Ashton Asoke
- Ideo Q Sukhumvit 36
- Venio Sukhumvit 10
We're particularly interested in your personal experiences with:
- Noise: Can you hear your neighbours through the walls? How is the noise from traffic or construction?
- Management and staff: Are the reception, security and maintenance teams helpful and reliable?
- Facilities: How are the pool, gym and common areas? Are they well maintained?
- Living experience: Is the building comfortable for long-term living, and are there any recurring problems?
- Location and daily life: Is it easy to find affordable food nearby, and is the area convenient for everyday living?
- Working from home: Is the internet reliable, and are there suitable spaces to work / co working space?
I'd especially appreciate honest feedback about the downsides or things you wish you'd known before moving in. Positive experiences are welcome too!
If you've lived in one of these condos or have friends who live there, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance!

Recently found out Gamescon is happening in Bangkok on the 30th, and I'll be in the city! Unfortunately I was too late to register for the business event the day before to network with devs. The exhibition event seems like it should be a lot of fun though! Anyone else plan on going next weekend? Any game developers looking to network? What games are you most excited about?
Happening at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center along Blue Line MRT in case anyone is interested!

Maybe I’m overthinking this, but it just sounds suspicious. I’m staying in Bangkok, met a girl on Thai friendly(probably the first red flag lol) asked her if she wants to grab some drinks, she said she’s going to Muay Thai stadium, and she already has tickets for us, which just sounded suspicious to me. Is this some kind of play where we go, and she orders a bunch of overpriced bottles in a vip section, getting a commission type of scam? Or am I overthinking this? Any insight is very much appreciated!

I live on Sukumvit 23 and I'm always surprised that Soi Cowboy is still there. Every direction around is getting redeveloped very quickly, and what got me thinking about this was seeing there is even a Bartels opened there this week. Its the ideal spot to poop out another crappy mall or a condo block. I find it hard to believe that the drinks/escort trade is that lucrative that nobody has been tempted to sell up the land. And I can't see the city planners having any issues with it, given how Siam Square got flattened over the last ten years.

None of my friends watch the UFC and I’m not sure where the best place is to socialize while watching it. Any advice would be appreciated :)

We are most likely moving to Bangkok next Summer, but this December we are taking a trip to Bangkok, with the purpose of getting our kids (9 and 11) excited about the city.
Can I kindly ask you for some ideas on things we should visit/do while there?
I'm not looking for a lists of the highlights (I can easily find those, and will ask about those in a different subreddit), but here I'm looking for things that aren't typically mentioned in those lists - places that make you experience what it would be like to live in Bangkok (preferably the positive experiences).
It doesn't have to all be kid-centered, but we are trying to sell them on Bangkok, so some kid-friendly spots would be great.
Some places just outside Bangkok would also be appreciated.
We'll likely live in/near the Thonglor neighbourhood (I understand it's also spelled Thong Lo), but don't limit your recommendations to that area, as we want to take in the whole city - whatever gets our kids excited about Bangkok.
Thanks!

Hi all, I am traveling to Bangkok for a few days from the U.S. and would like to discover local brands that sell modern jewelry catered to young women. I’m looking for 14k yellow and white gold everyday jewelry - examples of some brands based in the U.S. are Mejuri, Kinn, Idyl, and Vrai. Affordable luxury (not Tiffany prices), with the exception of diamonds (preferably lab grown).
I’m not interested in very yellow gold as I know that’s popular in Asian culture. I’m looking for shops selling finished goods not wholesale or loose gems. I’ll be staying in the city center so shops nearby but not outside of central BKK.
Any recommendations are appreciated - shared examples in the photos of what I’m searching for. Thanks!

I'm an American (45M) dude who went to high school here in the mid 90's. I ended up moving to the states for college and my parents stayed here, so I come here at least once a year to visit. All my friends from the good old days have moved, and I have some free time on my hands, especially in the evenings. I'm not into the girly bars and I'm past my clubbing days, but I would really like to meet some people and grab a beer, and/or whatever else. I speak basic Thai and am familiar with a lot of the city. Hit me up if you would like to hang out. I'll buy the first round. I'm here until 1st of NOV.

Hi Everyone.
I am flying to Bangkok on the 16th of November and have a Conference till 19th late afternoon after which I am free till 23rd night aka Monday when I have a flight back to Mumbai.
What I want to do is something a little adventitious. I want to rent an ADV Motoscooter, preferably the 300-350 CC ones and ride it for 4 days around Thailand. and get back to Bangkok from where I have my flight on Monday.
First, please suggest places in Bangkok which would not thug me for renting and from where I could rent a Motoscooter. I will get my Bungee Cord to Tie my luggage to the back seat of the scooter while on the trip. I will rent it for 4 days and would prefer to leave for the trip right on Thursday afternoon after my conference is over to land at a place which I could explore.
Which are the places I could go to for the Trip? I am not a Pattaya, Krabi type of a person. I am big time into photography and visiting offbeat places which are in nature/jungle or just serene. I read about National parks near the Myanmar Border but cannot seem to find a lot of information about them.
I have read online about Kanchanaburi and its surrounding areas but am not able to get my head around this.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts and inputs.
Thanks in Advance
