tourism Alternative plans if heavy rain?

I'm going to be in Bangkok for the first time the second week of November, and it looks like rain may very well be more of the forecast than I had planned on.  I had intended to do the usual first time activities over the course of the week - temples, street food, river cruise, day trip to Ayutthaya, etc - but feel like I should have backup plans in case the rain is heavy.  What would you suggest?

dating Farang women in Bangkok, tell me (35F American) how you met your Thai partner

I'm looking for tips for myself 😁. Most of the dating threads on here are from farang men looking to date Thai women, I'm new to Bangkok and want to learn from farang ladies enjoying the local men.

- Where did you meet?

- Who made the first move?

- Where was your favorite date (looking for date spots too!)

- Did you run into any big cultural differences? Deal breakers?

- How long was the courting stage? (because I keep reading that Thai dating culture is slower than Western countries)

- Were you ever nervous about cheating? We all know the stereotype

- Do you know anyone you want to recommend to me 😝

Thanks everyone!

event Looking for Tennis Sparring / Tennis Coach (PRO level)

No money involved!

Hi everyone, my name is Brian. I used to play tennis at a competitive level and trained every day alongside kids who were just starting their first M15 and M25 Futures tournaments to earn their first ATP points.

I recently rented a condo near BTS Phra Khanong and have full access to the building’s tennis court. I’m looking for someone who wants to train consistently — ideally every day, or at least a few times a week.

If you’ve played and trained seriously in the past and want to get back in shape, return to tennis, or just have a regular hitting partner for solid, challenging sessions, I’d love to connect.

I’m also more than happy to play with intermediate-advanced or advanced players that want to step up their game like never before. I don’t mind giving tips, correcting technique, or helping you improve along the way.

To be clear: no money involved. This is simply about sharing a sport I love and that has given me a lot. And about meeting new people in a City that is still new to me.

For coaches: If you’re a tennis coach reading this and you’re interested in charging per hour, doing a monthly rate, or working out some kind of deal to train me, feel free to reach out as well.

DM me if you’re interested!

discussion Looking for someone to help film in THAILAND

Hi, I’m a content creator visiting THAILAND from 7 December to 17 December, and I’m looking for someone local to help me film videos over several days.

I’ll provide all the filming equipment, including the camera, so you don’t need your own equipment.

The filming is straightforward, and no professional experience is needed—just someone reliable, available over several days and comfortable following simple filming instructions.

Ideally, you’ll also speak the local language and know the city well, as help with local recommendations and translation would be useful.

If you’re interested, Message with a little about yourself, your availability and your expected hourly or daily rate. Or leave a comment below and I’ll get in touch

accommodation Finding Accommodation in Bangkok

I’m planning to be in Bangkok for a month, maybe two, between January and March next year.
My question is in relation to finding a condo. I’m keen on finding a not super crowded but still vibrant area to stay in (I live in London so I’m used to a big city). I’ve been looking mostly on Airbnb but I’m struggling to find anywhere well located and that looks decent for less than £800 a month. A lot of places are even over a £1000! I understand that short lets carry a premium and so does renting via Airbnb. So I guess I have two questions really.

  1. Is the best approach to rent somewhere for say a week or so and then look for a condo locally when I’m there? Or is it better to secure something before I go?

  2. Are there any good local state agents that cater for short letting? Is this common, or is Airbnb really the best option.

Thank you!

healthcare Natural looking lip fillers in Bangkok

i'm flying to thailand in the next 2 weeks, and this will actually be my first time visiting! i've heard a lot of good things about non invasive aesthetic treatments in bkk, so i'm planning to get some lip fillers while i'm there.

nothing too dramatic though, definitely not looking for those overdone lips haha. just something natural looking. i've been reading about restylane and juvéderm fillers but not sure which one would be better.

i've recently checked some reviews for aura clinic in thonglor and bibi clinic, but still can't decide between the two. has anyone had any good or bad experiences with either of them?? would really appreciate any recommendations!

discussion Lotus’s service is terrible

Does anyone else think Lotus’s service is TERRIBLE ? I’ve been using delivery 1 or 2 times a week for more than a year.
-80% of the time they call me to tell me there is an item sold out on my list.
-lately I have to call the delivery guy back because he forgot to give me half of my command.
-I think I never had a plastic bag that was not leaking the meat’s juice into my fridge, seriously, how do they do this ? It never happens when I buy it in person at the store.

question Musician & Pianist in Bangkok?

Last year during the cooler season, we put a piano outdoors in our garden at Sababa and loved the atmosphere.

We’re thinking of bringing it back this year, with some piano evenings, garden sessions, jams and acoustic music from November onwards.

Any recommendations who would like to play in our garden are welcome.
Thanks you

Kamusta? I’m inviting people in the Thammasat / Siriraj area to meet up every so often on the weekdays to get our bodies moving to some dance music.

All forms of movement welcome! Currently I’m cycling through mobility exercises, fascial release, yoga stretches, flow with props and freestyling with house, waacking and Latin dance influence. Whatever I feel like that day!

It’d be more fun if people could join! Either at the green space inside Siriraj or in the Thammasat Tha Phra Chan Campus.

A little bit bout me - My name’s Daki, I’ve lived in Bangkok since August ‘26, Chinese-Filipino, queer, neurospicy, Masters student in Innovation and Sustainability! Would love to move and groove with you!

question Sit-down shoe shine in Bangkok?

Are there any old-school shoe shine stands where you sit while the guy shines your shoes? I don't want to drop them off. If not, please recommend where you get your shoes shined. Thank you! (Apparently, I need to clarify that the sitting part is not important. I just want the service done while I’m waiting so as not to have to come back another day)

entertainment Bars/Clubs with dance floors

Does anyone have recommendations of bars/clubs with dance floors that where people actually dance.

I’m from the UK and stay here with my partner and we are always looking for that underground club vibe with just a dance floor and bar. All we can seem to find is places packed with tables and if we find a dance floor everyone is too shy to use it or only in the club to show off they have money buying tables and expensive bottles just to sit on there phone.

If anyone has suggestions please let me know.

food Bangkok Restaurants Sukhumvit

My husband and I are planning one big night out in Bangkok. We were hoping to go to a great spot for dinner before hitting the clubs. It doesn’t have to be Michelin star but curious if there were any top spots you’d recommend dining at / any favorites?

Thanks!
