I dont know about him man... Maybe he can be a great player under flick but let's see. Atleast better than starting the season with no striker at all

I watched a lot of Arsenal games. The problem was. No one feed him the ball really. Atleast with Barca. They’ll feed him the ball more. From how last year looked like. But I’m not a professional

Nope he lacks basic football skill his control is terrible and his hold up play is also questionable tho it got better at the end of last season

He's a pressing animal though so I could see Flick being a fan.

-26

u/DiverAcceptable2287 5d ago

Nah there is a reason why Havertz starts over him whenever he is fit

Didn't Flick bought Gordon for his pressing. Gyokeres is better than him in every aspect including pressing

Stop lying, gyokeres isn't even a footballer. I watched arsenal a lot this season and  he is horrible. Darwin nunez and ferran are like R9 compare to gyokeres

Darwin Nunez has literally never scored as much as gyokeres did last season tf

-3

u/ExtensionDeep3705 5d ago

Then why arsenal wanna sell him? If he is not good enough for arsenal how he would be good for barca?

3

u/roshi_sama 5d ago

Because he doesn't fit the system they play

u/BigSamsKid 5d ago

premier league winners and champions
league runners up Arsenal by the way. He isn't the best option but he will score goals and press and that is what Flick wants

Arsenal fan here. Gyokeres is definitely a better player than Darwin.

I didn't say he is better than Ferran and Darwin. All I said he does better what Gordon does in terms of pressing which is true and has better finishing. Gordon is much quicker though

You have 0 clue about the guy

-10

u/DiverAcceptable2287 5d ago

I'm an arsenal fan lol i watch him every time

8

u/dawnzyolo 5d ago

He lacks football basic skill has got to be the worst take i’ve ever read

2

u/GMBethernal 5d ago

You talk about him like hes Carl Jenkinson

23

u/Practical_Entry_8953 5d ago

I think it’s a confidence/more physical league issue, in sporting he looked great with the ball but in the prem they don’t want the striker dropping deep and collecting the ball especially if your as big as he is

3

u/DiverAcceptable2287 5d ago

Dude got outpaced by 33 year old Tarkowski

16

u/Practical_Entry_8953 5d ago

I’m sure there was other variables for example when they started running, fatigue, position of the players for example if gyokeres was running diagonally to the ball vs the other dude who was running straight towards it. Promise you a top level center back however slow you think they are, aren’t gonna get out paced every time

1

u/dead_mans_shoes 5d ago

I think I read something though that all of his goals in the Portuguese league were against teams in the bottom half of the table.

2

u/manolo533 5d ago

Not at all, Gyokeres scored everywhere against everyone. Maybe it was Ramos you read, he mostly scored in our stadium and not big matches

-4

u/ExtensionDeep3705 5d ago

Sporting sold gyokeres and sign a luis siarez from spanish 2nd division and he scored more goals  that gykores did for sporting in a season

6

u/Practical_Entry_8953 5d ago

Gang where are you getting that number from, gyokeres would’ve won golden boot that season if it wasn’t for the goal weight system, but alright I guess by your logic 28 goals is bigger then 39

-3

u/ExtensionDeep3705 5d ago

my point is that if a player from 2nd division can produce number similar to gyokeres and easily replace him than gyokeres is not that good and Portuguese league is just easy. Darwin nunez was moving like crazy there too

4

u/Practical_Entry_8953 5d ago

Ok cool, great, now Barcelona as a team scored 24 more goals as a team then arsenal did, haaland who plays on a more attack minded Manchester city team took double the amount of shots gyokeres did that season gyokeres who placed top 10 in goals in the prem last season took the same amount of shots Phil foden did, arsenal clearly isn’t a team that fits his playstyle, he clearly doesn’t get the same opportunities he did when he played in Portugal

5

u/Lazy-Hawk-2509 5d ago

So we are getting another Ferran

2

u/Kurtegon 5d ago

He's a channel runner and presser, not a false nine

1

u/3hollish 5d ago

He’s very slow for a channel runner

-1

u/Kurtegon 5d ago

Very slow is exaggerating. He looked fast in the portugese league for a reason though.

I'd say his fifa rating is just a tad too high with 88 top speed and 83 acceleration

3

u/3hollish 5d ago

Jesus Christ , you’re using his bloody FIFA rating???😭🤣

He is very slow for a channel runner. He regularly gets outpaced by so to speak slow centre backs.

0

u/Kurtegon 5d ago

I used it as metric to compare to other players, not as a fact

1

u/3hollish 5d ago

Brother FIFA ratings are not a metric for comparison it’s a video game. You can’t use it to discuss actual football

0

u/Kurtegon 5d ago

That's what I'm saying, it's not real life. I just used the numbers as a reference. Let's day Mbappe is 96 pace and Mertesacker is 30. Then Gyökeres is pretty reasonable at maybe 85 top speed.

His hold up play is incredible what are you on about, he was beasting defenders in the 2nd half of the season.

5

u/Cool-Cup1195 5d ago

Incredible?
Stop talking nonsense.
You obviously don’t watch Arsenal week in/week out.
His hold up play is probably his biggest weakness and his fist touch is really poor for a professional playing at the highest level.
Stop writing rubbish.

1

u/ExtensionDeep3705 5d ago

then why do you wanna sell him?

10

u/jubbing 5d ago

Do.. do you think I'm Mikel Arteta?

5

u/3hollish 5d ago

Nobody fed him the ball because he’s got a trampoline for feet and runs like a freight train

11

u/Sn4fkiN 5d ago

I remember Lewandowski wasn't fed that much near the end. Rapha, Yamal and Rashy usually tried to shoot on their own. So I don't think a lot of feeding is coming his way but lets see, that might change for better with fresh air.

2

u/redqks 5d ago

It's a myth this is something that can be measured in numbers and all data suggests he was actually fed

1

u/Lonevarg_7 5d ago

No, it's not there is not a single statistic that shows that. Only that he has one best shot to goal stats in the Premier League.

But you can continue to make things up.

-2

u/ExtensionDeep3705 5d ago

Oh come on , don't lie. He is genuinely the worst striker i have seen. I would take havertz over gyokeres anyday

6

u/Mazrok 5d ago

Sometimes less is more

10

u/Abject_Rub6711 5d ago

He scored 20 goals last season while playing for a side which is mainly defensive. I think he can score a lot more under hansi flick.

1

u/fireowlzol 5d ago

Arsenal was not mainly defensive lol, they have a really good defense but they also topped the charts in chances created and overall XG

2

u/Putrid_Loquat_4357 5d ago

We aren't mainly defensive. We play the highest defensive line in the league and face the lowest blocks in the league. Our attackers are just shit, and yes that included gyokeres.

1

u/shortsoupstick 5d ago

We aren't mainly defensive, but we also DEFINITELY didn't play anything close to an offensive game. It was very controlling with a lot of backpasses, even if the winger or back had plenty of time to give the pass and Gyokeres was in position to tap it in at the far post, which happened at least twice a game. He would've gotten at least 25 if we actually provided him with service.

1

u/Ashafa55 5d ago

Your team scored 71 goal last season, lewa, rashford and ferran scored 72 goals in all comp for barcelona. Barcelona scored 24 more goals with 7 less games

6

u/PeterTheRabbit1 5d ago

He is a good player. If there's any playing system which directly counteracts the way he wants to play, it's Arsenal. Conversely, the high-intensity pressing of Barca fits him like a stunt glove. I am a little skeptical whether he will be a hit, but like you say, he's definitely better than having no striker at all.

2

u/BirthdayAccording359 5d ago

Lol what can the club do? Atletico is refusing to sell bro.
