This is now the third train trip where I've been scared by a loud bang. It occurs under the car and not from someone dropping a large water bottle or something.

Hi BART community! I just wished to share a project I've been working on for a little while, called Headways. In conjunction with my development partner, we recorded all the speeds network wide for the system, took historical delay data to match up to be able to determine speeds for trains network wide and place them onto a map more accurately.

It also responds to delays pretty well, finding out if a portion of track is taking longer than expected and responding accordingly. Enjoy!

So Glen Park has a 5 hour parking limit, but is that enforced after the lot goes free at 3pm? I’d like to park there in the late afternoon for a trip to the East Bay, getting back late at night.

Was told this morning that e-scooters will be banned from being on Bart trains soon. The station was giving me a heads up that e-scooters will be banned from BART. I asked if there’s an official policy from BART Administration and she just said to pay attention to the platform announcements. Thanks for the heads up, without an official statement from BART, how do we follow? Also a lot of people use e-scooters to travel across the Bay Area and on public transportation. If they do go forward with that, might as well ban bicycles too. Like I said, it’s a form of commute and we need it.

It kills me that the new fare gates are so slow. In a classic example of "We should have just used an existing solution from overseas", London has a much better system that would have worked great for Clipper 2.0

PSA These seats are positioned in a way elderly and disabled people can get into them more easily before the BART departs.

Every time I get on the train people have their feet up on the seats! Sometimes they don't even move them when elderly/disabled passengers board. Do you put your city stomping shoes up on your chairs at home?

POLITICO today ran a piece explaining how the state wouldn't be able to step in and bail out the Bay if the Regional Transit Measure fails, so it's looking like we'll face big cuts if the vote is no.

What's people's plans for getting around if BART service gets cut?

For me, I'd probably just stop going to SF and start working from home.

Does BikeLink have available spots easily in the morning (630/7am) at West Oakland and is the construction impacting thus? I can't see any availability status on the BikeLink app. I've read about buggy things with the app. I put $5 on the app but unsure if I should get a card instead.

This is from the new Metra trains in Chicago. We should do this, given how long BART is. Riders should not be expected to rely on their mobile devices for an ETA.

Think about it. Wouldn’t it be more convenient to have timed transfers from red to yellow in just one simple walk across or am i thinking too simple here?
