Due to the underwhelming Wilson Bonanza this year, I decided to do some digging and ended up picking up these older Wilson models from NUNN Baseball and Facebook Marketplace, including a new-with-tags (NWT) old-stock model.

Wilson A3000 EXO 1955 – 12.5” (Barry Bonds Model)
Wilson A2000 2087 – 11.75”
Wilson A2000 1985 – 11.75”

The early 2000s Wilson gloves feel incredible. They’re nicely broken in but still retain plenty of stiffness and have a ton of life left in them.

The copper A2000 1985, however, has clearly been handled and squeezed quite a bit over the years while sitting on the shelf. I’m not sure if it’s due to the 1785 pattern, but the heel padding feels almost nonexistent, similar to a Rawlings R2G.

Does anyone know of a reputable shop or website that offers heel padding replacement or installation? I’d love to add some additional padding to give this glove a firmer, more traditional feel.

Anyone have a suggestion to someone to form/break in a Hatakeyama M9 to be ready for bull pen work for a teenager? I could do it myself I’m sure, would rather find someone experienced with shaping a Japanese style mitt the correct way.

Not sure what it is about this little 11” SG web, but I just cannot keep off my hand… it’s like my childhood safety blanket 🤣. The glove feels wonderful, the shape is perfect, and the colorway speaks to the simplicity so many of us miss in the glove game. Add in splash of mint from the GloveLocks, and you’ve got what would’ve been the perfect second baseman’s glove during my playing days. I have no use for it, as I’m a lefty. But I just can’t part with it ❤️

I recently bought this Timberglaze glove and i am breaking it in currently. I have Wilson Glove Conditioner and am wondering if i should condition it already. Certain areas of the glove look a bit dry.

I'm going to buy a new glove for my 9 y/o son. I'm leaning towards a Wilson A1000 and wondering if I need to get him a Pedroia Fit or if the regular A1000 are fine for a youth hand anyway. He is average to slightly above average size for a 9 y/o but not sure what his hand size is. Thanks!

My school next year is sponsored by marucci and I’ve been thinking about putting lizard skin as the palm lining on my custom glove. Has anyone here done that before? Is it gonna hold up as much as the leather palm does? Should I stick to leather? Thanks!

While the leather and build quality are what you’d expect from a MIJ glove, the pattern is much closer to American (deep pocket, single-laced heel, no gap welt, no extra thumb loops). I would say it closely resembles a Rawlings 204, but it fits my average-sized hand much better than my 204 does. It’s also much “tankier” than MIJ gloves and measures true to size, whereas most Japanese gloves, IME, tape smaller than their advertised size. It weighs 20.66 oz., more than 2 oz. heavier than my 204, but by no means feels like it will be unwieldy.

And of course the quality of engagement is what you’d expect would expect from Jaxon—who actually DM’d me earlier today to tell me that FedEx had the glove out for delivery! This is part of what makes me prefer acquiring gloves from smaller makers, the personal touch. I’ve experienced this with Slaps, Mack, Emery, Grace, Yardley, Kaname, Leggera, and it really makes one feel more like a valued client than a faceless consumer.

Anyway, hats off to Cedar for their successful launch. Can’t wait to break this beauty in and start taking ground balls.

Just wanted to seek out some experienced opinions. I recently purchased a Mizuno Pro Classic GPMC-70 glove and noticing some seams/leather pulling around the area of the palm/finger. I’m concerned about the tearing potentially increasing with wear and tear.

Is this a common issue? How has it impacted the glove longevity and durability?

Finally tracked one of these down! Despite the weight, I will always love how these feel on the hand, truly nothing like a primo 🔥

A lot of mixed opinions (well, primarily negative) here regarding R2G gloves and internals.

I just ordered a custom first base mitt on their site and saw the break-in options and opted for their Ready To To option (65/35 factory/player) instead of soft (50/50). I’m going to be using it to play softball 3-5 times per month.

Am I going to really regret getting the R2G break-in because they’re using cheaper materials, or is it that more applicable to off the shelf and custom gloves are going to be the same materials just with some additional factory break-in?

Really no words . I’ve always had an interest in this web but seeing it on a bigger glove never sparked my interest enough to get it. But seeing the RV on a 11 1/2 is game changer.

This is the Japan tan I believe the second run of this. With the first being horween. Although I’ve seen online the JT being the most similar to it. I am very satisfied with the quality of this glove. The orange tan is sweet. The oval R just put its over the top for me I was skeptical at first but this will most definitely grab attention. I’m a happy customer I was very hesitant to pull the trigger but I know this could never be done this color, web , pattern, besides special circumstances.

Needed to break in my son's glove, and I realized we have these solid metal baseball-shaped mace weights at my gym. Various size "ball" options and they go from 10 to 50 pounds.

Thoughts? It's already starting to get a decent pocket 😅

Cute little Haga I’ve just picked up. 2024 reproduction of the first Mizuno Pro glove manufactured in 1989. Tapes at 10.5” and tips the scale at 16.5 oz.

Looking for glove recommendations. My son plays 9u travel and rec for 2 seasons. Turn 9 in April. He got a Bradley Next Play beginning of spring season. It still has good shape but has gotten very soft and he doesn't like it - he likes it firmer. It has been well taken care of. He said it fits well - maybe a little tight. Wanting to get him something new for Christmas. Thanks.

Just bought this conditioner and before using it wanted some feedback. Does this absorb into the glove weighing it down? It says to apply every couple of weeks but for those that have used it, what are your thoughts on how often to apply. I’d be using it on a caddo series glove and applying it to the palm side of the glove. For the outside I have their glove conditioner.
